Teiluj clenched her jaw tightly as she stared forward. Her mother had insisted on more fighting practice since she was now leaving on a journey and Teiluj would be left behind. Reluctantly she had agreed, but only so she could show her mother just how strong she really was.
Pushing her hands together Teiluj concentrated hard on her magic as water splashed out towards Maya.

Maya had insisted on making sure Teiluj was well prepared for battle incase something happened to her while Maya was away. She didn't really think she could fully trust the oban with her daughter, he seemed too weak to her anyways and far to flighty in her mind. "Ok Teiluj lets see this magic you can do. Try to hit me."
As water came flying towards her Maya couldn't help but feel impressed. Her daughter had been so afraid she couldn't use magic and now, she was wielding it. Even if it showed great effort in doing so, which made it easier to dodge her attack. Pulling an arrow out as the water rushed by her, and taking aim at Teiluj's hand.

Teiluj knew her mother would strike back as quickly as she did. Knew where her mother would aim. Maya was predictable in that sense. Ducking out of the way Teiluj picked up whatever hard object her hands could find and threw them at her mother. She didn't want to waste her magic spells if she could help it.

Maya was impressed with Teiluj's ability to dodge her arrow. She was becoming smarter when it came to predicting her movements but that would have to start changing. She would need to start working harder to keep Teiluj on her toes. Pulling back the arrow in retaliation Maya waited to see how her daughter would react.

Of course the object had been dodged. Twigs really weren't good for much anyway. Grunting withe the effort to move away from her current position knowing if she wasn't fast enough her mother would land a blow. Sure enough, Teiluj could feel the sting of the arrow against her wrist. Covering the scrape with her and Teiluj narrowed her gaze as she attempted to build up magic sending another wave of water off towards her mother

It was easy to see where Teiluj was going to strike. Despite her best efforts her daughter was predictable in her retaliation and counters. But this time the strike had lacked force enough so Maya absorbed the attack while aiming at Teiluj. Sending the arrow away. "Teiluj an opponent isn't always going to attempt to dodge a strike."

Teiluj could feel her grasp on the water spells weakening but her ability to dodge her mother so far was still paying off. The arrow whizzed by her ear giving Teiluj the Que to strike again with another wave of water. Panting as she struggled to keep ahead of her mothers arrows. They had been puffballs when she was younger and just learning, but as she grew maya had slowly taken them off.

Maya could see her daughter continuing to struggle to keep ahead of her arrows. It impressed her that Teiluj was so determined to escape being hit, and her speed had continued to increase over the years. It would only be a matter of time before Teiluj had the ability to be faster than she was. "You're doing well Teiluj." Maya shouted as she let another arrow go.

Stubbornly Teiluj tried to dodge the arrow that came at her. Her muscles strained to dodge the arrow once again. Maybe if she could just get up in the trees it would at least create a bit more of a shield for her to dodge the incoming arrows. Perhaps even blunt some future attacks.
