This is an RP that I intend to keep open to pretty much everyone. It will be one on one, of course, but each RP should be about 10-20 posts per person per "visit." You'll come in, ask for a magical item, we'll banter back and forth, I'll explain how it works, etc. If you want to be on a waiting list, just quote me and add a pirate emote. Khorvus looked up from his work station at the sound of the bell on the front door. A customer. Good. His current specimen was proving very stubborn. Either his scrying was off or the inanimate object he was tinkering with had a will of its own and didn't want any information pulled from it. Well, wills could be broken. Khorvus would try acid. Most things with a will reacted to acid.
He smelled the air before dawning his mask. Weak of constitution, Khorvus wore his bird like mask to protect against pathogens. Many people didn't know it, but breathing someone else's air was a sure fire way to catch whatever illness they had. He went on to strike up some incense. While he was used to the...unusual odors of his curio shoppe, he had been told by many that a certain smell lingered about the place. Probably the residue of a succubus one customer had had him conjure. Khorvus didn't like the idea of public fornication but the man had paid well and had left Khorvus a generous tip. The customer's drained husk of a corpse wasn't needing the wallet, anyway.
Waving the incense around, he approached his customer. "Welcome to my curio shoppe, traveler. I have many things from this world and many others, and even some things from their fantasy worlds, too. I am also a summoner of things, spirits and such, but I must warn you, I have no control over them." He hesitated, remembering the love drained husk he had to clean up.
"They can be rather...uncouth, I believe? So, what brings you here on this fine day..." Khorvus suddenly noticed the hour. Sunlight didn't tend to creep in the windows when the moon was out. "Evening. My apologies. It is later than I had realized. Well, you shall be my last customer of the day. I am Khorvus Killian and am at your service.
Khorvus bowed deeply, waiting for a response.

It hadn't been easy to find this particular location. "I seek a particular Kitsune, a Princess of their race. Her name is Rìluò Yínhú," he said simply. She was named such for her dark amethyst eyes that resembled the twilight sky just after sunset and her beautiful silvery fur and pale white hair that shimmered with pearlescent colors. ☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽

"I see...so you want to find a princess, yes? Hmm...has she been captured? Is she in a far away land that is otherwise out of your reach? I must try to understand more."

☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽ Bàohyō exhaled softly, his eyes half closed before they reopened to reveal rippling color within his platinum silver irises. "Rìluò, as far as her people know, is missing. I suspect she was kidnapped by a rival clan, the Hǎishé, who have very serpentine natures, most likely for ransom, if she is fortunate. They are known to experiment on their own and anyone they capture," he said quietly; what he wasn't revealing was that he himself had once been kidnapped by the Hǎishé Clan as a human -- as a result, he had gained quite a few things usually held by the more animalistic groups. He pulled out a tuft of silvery fur bound by pale white, almost pearly, hair, and several fairly large serpentine scales in shades of amber, dull orange, dull gold, black, and dark emerald green. Each scale was roughly half again as wide as his finger and two thirds as long, or roughly an inch and a half wide and an inch and a third long. ☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽

"Ooh, specimens." Khorvus' interest was peaked. He held out his gloved hand in anticipation.
"If I may examine these scales and fur I may be able to concoct a potion or craft an item that will help with your princess's appropriation. A tracking spell, perhaps, or a smoke bomb that may render her captors immobile while you attempt a rescue. I have several bestiaries from across the realms of space and time, you see. If these...'serpentine' rogues have a weakness, I can find it and exploit it." He paused, getting ahead of himself.
"As for the princess...if her fur has any sort of pheromones on it, I may be able to give you a general area to search. I have several items that can do so; a Branekin Bloodfly that can track any smell across continents and have been known to even find their prey in different DIMENSIONS. I also have a compass that can point to the source of any organic matter. In other words, it can find your princess just by knowing the composition of her hair."

"I'm sure there will be scent from Rìluò, as she was going into heat when she disappeared," he said quietly as he allowed the shopkeeper to delicately take the scales and fur. He cocked an eyebrow at the items he commented on having that could track the Kitsune Princess. He didn't say that there were close to two dozen others seeking her -- as her hand was on the line... and her father.... was a true immortal. ☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽

"Excellent, yes. Very good." Khorvus picked up the tuft of fur and scales and went back into his workshop. He placed the organic materials in separate glass flasks and went about looking for a bestiary that contained the corresponding species. It took Khorvus less than a minute to find the two tomes; how was anyone's guess as the workshop was somewhere between pig sty and landfill.
"This may take a few moments," Khorvus called from the back room. "Can you tell me why you are after the princess? Royal duty, betrothal, or do you plan to ransom her yourself? Regardless of your reason, I will not interfere. It is bad for business, yes? I am merely curious."

Hell, I'm lucky to be what I am... and as far as I know, I'm not betrothed to her," he said dryly as flickering pale lavender-blue flames flickered over his clawed fingers and hands, his dark bronze fur contrasting sharply with the pale bluish color of the flames. ☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽

Khorvus had just found the Hǎishé section in the bestiary when he noticed a purplish blue glow coming from the showroom. He rushed out of his workshop and pointed an accusing finger at his customer.
"Please! Refrain from using any forms of incendiary magic in my shoppe. Many things here do not react well with fire or forms of magical manifestations, much less both at the same time. I would ask you kindly not to do that again or our business shall be concluded immediately." Without waiting for a reply, Khorvus returned to the workshop and the tome on the Hǎishé. He allowed himself to grin.
The bestiary claimed that the Hǎishé weren't overly fond of fire. Being cold blooded, drastic heat increases damaged their physiology. Hmm...Something to amplify the customer's fire magic, yes? That would be very fitting. Khorvus got to his feet and sauntered over to a cluttered shelf where he retrieved a gray candle. It was ordinary, but large, about the size of a rolling pin. He then took a mortar and pestle from atop a chest. Cleaning out some crusted soup, he ground the Hǎishé scales into a fine dust and then deposited it into a bag. He returned to the showroom and his customer.
"I don't mean to gloat, but I am particularly proud of this. This is a candle of Ejax. Once you light it, it will never go out unless you put it out. Also, it has a property that amplifies fire magic. It should come in handy with your powers, yes? As an added bonus, once lit, if you burn something within the flames, all damage done to anything that shares a physical composition with whatever has been burned will be amplified even more." Khorvus presented the bag to his customer.
"I have ground up the Hǎishé's scales into powder. Blow this through the candle's flame once it is lit and you will be a fiery god to all those in your way. Now, I will go and see what I can do about locating your princess. Is there anything else you can tell me about your mission? Any complications that might arise on your journey that I may help remedy before they happen?"
This time Khorvus waited for a reply instead of rushing back to his workshop.

☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽ Bàohyō smirked slightly. "It's actually not magic, though I can make it very incendiary," he said wryly as his hand closed, snuffing out the 'flames'. "From what I remember, their clan prefers very swampy, jungle style areas. A similar area the humans would know would be similar to that of the Everglades or their Amazon, though I do know they have shamans known to manipulate darker magicks, mainly poison and necromancy. Unfortunately, I do not know the precise area where they are holding her. I have little doubt that they will not be having a few guards between the outer chamber and hers." What he wasn't revealing, however, was that he was very unusual... due to what the Hǎishé had done to him -- that resulted in his current appearance -- he had gained several very unique skills that he could put to good use, amongst them affinities for ice, wind, and fire. ☾ 電力上記家族、誇り上記ファミリー、何よりも家族 ☽

"Swamps? Necromancy? Very good, very good. This is most interesting. I am not familiar with these Everglades or Ama-whatsits you mentioned. I will have to research this at a later date." Khorvus headed back to his workshop.
Employing some necromancy of his own, Khorvus revived a small swarm of Branekin Bloodflies from a dusty jar. They flitted around in a buzzing ball. The shop owner retrieved the tuft of the princess' fur and held it in front of the swarm. He then activated a small charm that created an inter-dimensional portal. He deposited the fur through the portal than deactivated the charm. The swarm floated there in the workshop while Khorvus returned to his customer.
"Observe." Khorvus activated the charm once more and removed the fur. The bloodflies immediately came to the showroom and began buzzing around the fur.
"These insects can find your princess. See how fast they appeared I can cast a spell on them to put them in a death like state...well, they'll be mostly dead, but what's the difference, eh? Anyway, they will remain dead until the princess is near. They should resuscitate themselves somewhere within, say, ten miles of the princess."
Khorvus activated the charm once again and the bloodflies became motionless again, hovering in place. He produced a glass jar and scooped up the swarm, and soon they settled on the bottom and stopped moving altogether.
"Unfortunately, this is the best I can do. If I could actually locate the princess, it would be a simple matter of teleporting her, of course simple might be a stretch..." Khorvus didn't mention the last being he tried to teleport ended up in a wall.

"What if she had a tracker keyed to something I have on me, would that make 'teleporting' her easier?" he said carefully, though what he didn't say was that the tracker beacon in question would operate strongest within 56 kilometers, or 35 miles, of the princess' location. If his suspicion on where they were was correct, however, it was very likely that they were well within the range in question. He concentrated as a soft golden glow grew over his heart, the glow deepening to a soft orange closer to its source. He frowned slightly; the signal was there, but weaker than he expected. I do not believe I have anything in which to offer you that would allow you to signal me. If I did...I could transport you and the princess at the same time, so long as you had a tight hold on her."
