Name: C'rrys
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Wingrider
History:
Pre-game:
Ceirrys came from a minor hold tithing to Bitra Hold. His father, Aneirin, was a second cousin of the Holder, putting him in the tumultuous position of representing a family name while having no hopes for achieving a position of prominence within the hold. He developed a “devil-may-care” attitude as he grew older, such that when he became enamored with Carrys, the young journeywoman harper brought to the hold to instruct the Holder’s grandchildren, he married her without the consent of his family. The whole ordeal became quite a scandal for the small hold, and by the time Ceirry’s eldest sister was born, his parents were treated very much like a stain on a much-prided tapestry, to be covered up and frowned upon. His immediate family stuck close to one another and formed a tightly knit group of seven; he grew up as the youngest son among four siblings: Carwyn, six turns older than himself, Caerin his sister three turns older than himself, Aneirrys-his older brother by two turns, and his younger sister by four turns, Anwyn.
As he aged, Ceirrys and his siblings were met with reproachful gazes and snide comments from their extended family. He watched as his eldest sister, Carwyn, was filled with disdain for the entitled attitudes and pompous presumptions of their relatives. She remained strong in the face of this treatment- growing ever resilient and confrontational, all the while setting an example for her younger siblings, “you do not have to accept their judgement of your worth, who are they to pass such judgement?”. Ceirrys took this lesson to heart and dealt with his extended family flippantly; he cared not for their opinions and felt fulfilled enough as the doted upon “baby brother”. This particular position came with laxer expectations and less direct supervision, he often found himself gleefully playing tricks on those age-mates that continuously picked on himself or his siblings after Carwyn left to pursue harpercraft (to get in direct, physical confrontations would simply be unacceptable by his mother’s standards). Ceirrys was always careful at hiding his gloating smile in the wake of fuming relatives, careful to make mischief that could in no way be directly traced back to him. He became increasingly referred to as an “impudent child” and was happy to be searched at the age of twelve turns when Carwyn impressed Alaiath at Benden.
Ceirrys was glad to have Carwyn with him at Benden, while enjoying the mantle of a candidate, he was still used to being the kid-brother and relieved to once again have his eldest sister nearby. Candidacy has done little to temper his mischief-making, although now his pranks have become more light-hearted and done for the joy of executing a plan without getting caught rather than as a retort to mockery and snide comments. The last turn has proven to be a tumultuous chapter in his time as a candidate at Benden- staying when the revolution swept through its halls, disappointed by Carwyn’s decision to leave Benden, angered by the destruction of the wher clutch by dragonrider loyalists, and distressed by the poisoning of Malvern’s food supply-knowing that his sister had been affected and distraught by the physical distance between them.

In-game: After being roused just after midnight at the humming of Banshidheth's clutch, Ceirrys' life was changed forever and his greatest dream became realized upon impressing the mischievous Leszyth, the infamous "dud egg" of the clutch. Elated to move to the weyrling barracks, he quickly settled in with J'ric and bronze Imboleth - a clutchmate Leszyth was thrilled to room with as it meant more fantastic schemes and mischief were ahead! At the Hatching Feast Leszyth lead a band of dragonets on a quest to discern what the harpers' music was and discovered that dancing was an enjoyable form of merry-making. Meanwhile, C'rrys had gathered the courage to ask Vosin or Vesin to dance and was relieved and excited when Vosin accepted, after a round of dancing he returned to feasting with his family and was surprised to find that their hatching gift for him was a small green and blue firelizard egg.
Time Jump:
C'rrys and Carwyn found it despicable that their faction would poison a mother, but being a new weyrling and with Leszyth’s attachment to Benden as his home, C’rrys found he could not leave. So he fought defensively, with Leszyth defending his home at any cost, using his quick mind and knowledge of the weyr to help them survive - only fleeing once Benden was lost. Carwyn would not abandon her brother either, and worked as a member of the Coup within the Wherholds, using her position at Malvern and Ceirrys’ at Benden to their advantage and sabotage the wherholds from within. Once Keller and the remain of Benden fled to Malvern, Carwyn became increasingly involved with the Coup and managed to avoid Keller’s paranoia- his actions further fueling her desire and need to help overthrow him. C’rrys and Leszyth felt displaced in this new weyr, and latching on to Carwyn and Alaiath in an attempt to establish a feeling of “home” in this new place. With how loyally they had fought at Benden helping to deflect some of the suspicion placed upon Carwyn and Alaiath, but when the raid on Malvern came to a head at last, the four joined with the forces of the World's Weyrs to finally bring Keller’s brutal reign to an end, gladly joining Trine’s forces in the aftermath. In the turns following stayed close to those they knew at Trine- Leszyth’s clutchmates and Carwyn included- and as time progressed their combined affable natures have opened them to making new connections and returning to their inherent nature.
Description:
Ceirrys takes after his father in having a mop of wavy blond hair and a distinctly square jaw. He has grown into his height as well, filling out his stature at 5’9” with a trim and well-muscled form built from the demands of weyrlife. He’s grown to be a strapping young man over the last 10 turns, with a smattering of faded scars marking the wars that corrupted the innocence of his weyrlinghood. He has his mother’s deep blue eyes-often twinkling with mirth at the trouble he’s gotten away with- and dimples, which gives his impish smile an endearing quality that can sometimes charm him out of trouble.
Personality:
Ceirrys takes after his father in more than appearance, having his same easy-going personality, and while also having grown up in a close supportive family surrounded by jibes and snide comments, he often takes mean-spirited words with a grain of salt. Family- which now includes Leszyth- means everything to Ceirrys, and he will do everything within his power to defend them. While the actions and words of others seem to roll of his back, if anyone means harm to those he loves, physically or emotionally, he will retaliate with a vengeance. He will wait and scheme for the perfect opportunity to pull of the just-right revenge, whether that be embarrassing someone obsessed with their self image or luring someone into a situation in which they are vastly outnumbered. In this way he is incredibly stubborn, holding on to grudges and slights against those he cares for. This same stubborn attitude bleeds forth when he’s in an argument or is being challenged, it will take a very calm and persuasive person to move Ceirrys from the stance he has taken on a subject. He can be incredibly self-assured beyond this stubbornness in confrontations, in general he is very confident and was somewhat indulged as a youngest son, as such he often takes brazen actions and will not realize the full ramifications of his own words and actions on those around him, being more innocently self-centered than anything malign. The darker side to his mischievous personality is seen in the schemes he plans for revenge against those who have wronged his loved ones, the more innocent side comes in the form of simple pranks and plans to surprise those he sees as friends and loved ones, he will tease and play tricks on those he cares for- all in good-fun of course. Ceirrys loves the gratification of a successfully executed plan, and there is little else he loves more in this world than being able to witness the expressions on those persons’ affected faces. He is the typical bratty younger brother, and is used to a family full of noise, when confronted with a silent room he will often make chit-chat to fill the void and often feels the need to make light-hearted jokes if the mood is too somber.

Dragon
Name: Leszyth
Age: 10
Colour: Blue
Description:

Size: Above Average
Build: Below Average
Personality:
Leszyth cultivates a harmless and innocent appearance, but with this dragon, appearances are can be deceiving. He enjoys outsmarting others with clever tricks, but he is also intelligent enough not to get too clever; he is well aware that less is usually more, and isn't one to overthink or overcomplicate his mischief, nor does he draw it out unnecessarily. While those subjected to his tricks may or may not find them amusing during or after the fact, actual cruelty is incredibly rare from Leszyth, and reserved for those who have wronged him or someone close to him in some way.
Don't be too quick to write him off as a mere trickster, however; as irritating as his games can be, there is more to him than playing tricks and having a good laugh. He really does enjoy the company of others - even if it is sometimes at their expense - and is a loyal friend to those who take the time to get to know him beyond his playful antics. For the sake of his friends, Leszyth can be serious when the need arises: deadly serious, if it comes to it. He will protect his loved ones and home at any cost.
Home is incredibly important to Leszyth, and the attachment he forms to places is every bit as vital to him as his attachment to people. His rider had better like Benden, because getting this blue to leave it permanently will be nearly impossible. If he had his way, he would never leave ever, for any reason, and in his first turn or two is likely to throw a tantrum if made to so much as go on a day-trip, but if his rider is firm or convincing enough, he will get better at taking trips away. Even then, if an outing drags on for too long, he will mope and complain and generally make himself a nuisance until it's time to return home. Though Benden and the surrounding area as a whole are important to him, he will find specific places that he likes best of all, where he will go when he wants to be alone or feel especially safe. The truest sign of his affections is to be invited to share one of these special places, but if someone intrudes uninvited, he will attempt to chase them away.
Leszyth enjoys the simple company of whers and flits, and of any beast that will accept his presence. In fact, he will be rather disappointed that most animals are not fond of the company of a dragon, but that won't stop him from trying. He has a peculiar knack for imitating some of the sounds of other beasts, and with observation and practice could become rather good at it, within reason.
Why Me?:
Leszyth and Ceirrys are two peas in a pod, sharing a love of mischief and steadfast loyalty to those they hold dear. Home is where the heart is, and Ceirrys’s heart lies with his family; he has no plans for leaving Benden and would be loathe to part from its environs for any extended period of time at this point in his life. Ceirrys has a lot of growing to do as he transitions from life as a rambunctious candidate, to a weyrling responsible for someone other than himself for a change, and eventually to a revolutionist wingrider.
Inspired by: The Leshy.
The Leshy or Lesovik is a male woodland spirit in Slavic mythology who protects wild animals and forests. He is roughly analogous to the Woodwose of Western Europe and the Basajaun of the Basque Country.
A Leshy usually appears as a tall man, but he is able to change his size from that of a blade of grass to a very tall tree. He has hair and a beard of living grass and vines, and is sometimes depicted with a tail, hooves, and horns. He has pale white skin that contrasts with his bright green eyes. A Leshy has a close bond with the gray wolf, and is often seen in the company of bears as well. He is the Forest Lord and carries a club to express that he is the master of wood. He has blue blood, which gives his cheeks a blue tinge. Legend describes him as having a red scarf and his left shoe on his right foot. He also is known to have no shadow. Leshy protects the animals and birds in the forest and tells them when to migrate. He can shapeshift into many different forms.
A person who befriends a leshy can learn the secrets of magic. Farmers and shepherds would make pacts with the leshy to protect their crops and sheep. The leshy has many tricks, including leading peasants astray, making them sick, or tickling them to death. They are also known to hide the axes of woodcutters. A person gets lost in the woods when a leshy crosses their path. To find the way out, you have to turn your clothes inside out and wear shoes on opposite feet.
Leshies are terribly mischievous beings: they have horrible cries, and can imitate voices of people familiar to wanderers and lure them back to their caves, where the leshies will tickle them to death; they also remove signs from their posts. Leshies aren't evil: although they enjoy misguiding humans and kidnapping young women, they are also known to keep grazing cattle from wandering too far into the forests and getting lost. Sometimes cow herders will make pacts with a leshy by handing him their crosses from around their necks and sharing communion with him after Christian church gatherings; these pacts are said to give the cowherds special powers.
Sometimes more than one leshy inhabits a forest, and then they will fight for their territory, knocking down trees and scaring animals.

The Flit

(Given to me by Shaddaling)
Name: Pilfer
Lineage: Gold Harbinger x Brown Cat
Origin: A gift to Ceirrys from his family at the Hatching Feast.
Personality & Training: Pilfer takes after his brown father, dangerously interested in the possessions of others. He will happily rummage through others' personal belongings and will often snatch small trinkets that interest him, bringing them back to Ceirrys' room in the weyrling barracks and either presenting them as a gift to His or stashing them in various places around the room. When Ceirrys comes across these stashes he anxiously tries to get Pilfer to show him images of the places he's been to try and sort through what belongs to who. This rather difficult obsession with finding interesting things will actually make him surprisingly easy to train when it comes to the "fetch" command, especially if the item to be found is particularly tricky to find. Otherwise, this flit is difficult to train, but with his boundless energy and curiosity, if Ceirrys can manage to make training a game, he should go along with it well enough.

This blue sits at the smaller side of the blue spectrum, all the better for getting into small spaces!
