V'demhe was only traveling so well because she was trying to keep up with the older Alkidike and make sure she wasn't scolded for being so slow. When Maya told her to advance first she nodded and went at her traveling companion. Since she didn't want to hurt her side with harsh movements V'demhe went for a simple kick to Maya's side. If anything she was hoping to just be fast enough to land a hit despite her injury. To her surprise she managed to sneak in past Maya's defense, unless of course the woman had let her.

"Learn to anticipate the movements." Maya chuckled as she reached out and grabbed hold of V'demhe's ankle when it came near her. "You can do this by following the gaze of your opponent people don't lie through their eyes unless trained to do so." She gave a bit of a flick in the air to unbalance V'demhe and then shifted her stance again. "Now try again! Try to hide where you intend to hit me."

Just when she'd thought she'd gotten past the woman's defenses she'd been proven wrong. V'demhe stumbled back as the older Alkidike shifted her balance. When she was told to attack again she did so. This time she was doing her best to not show where she was going. However, it wouldn't be her eyes that gave it away this time but her body.

Roll to hit Maya attempts to use Dancing Petals A slightly powerful attack that draws on the movement of falling petals. Roll for attack as normal. Dmg is boosted +3 for that turn, and speed gains +2 for three turns. Can be used once every 3 turns. 19+9 = Hit (18+9)/2 = 13.5 +3 = 16.5 DMG Maya clicked her tongue and quickly side stepped V'demhe. You're body shows movements. Your toes specifically point to where you want to go. Shifting her feet in the ground Maya pulled an arrow from her quiver and shot it into the air. Startling several blossoms, forcing them to let go of their petals. Giving a spin Maya ran past V'demhe as the petals followed her. Giving the girl a slight tap in the middle of her back.

V'demhe saw the petals and new the move that Maya was going to do so she readied herself. Dem wasn't exactly keen on the idea of being struck. So when the time came to dodge she did so and escaped without a scratch! In a bit of a retaliation she attempted to trip Maya so that the woman wouldn't be able to attack her again.

Maya had not seen the trip coming, it was rare in her experience that people attempted to trip her. She had not even calculated that into her battle. Her foot locked under what was used to trip her and Maya recoiled as she tumbled towards the ground. Growling a little Maya turned over onto her back and raised off the ground. She had lost her advantage, but she was pleased V'demhe had skills. Crossing her arms over her chest Maya took in several deep breaths as she focused.

Fully focused on her surroundings Maya's eyes snapped open at the sensations of V'demhe moving for an attack. Quickly side stepping her Maya pulled an arrow from her quiver. Jumping back a ways before letting the arrow fly from her bow. She wasn't easily caught off guard, and she wasn't going to take it lightly on V'demhe. She was a fellow Alkidike after all and it made sense she treated her with the respect she would another sister. That meant not going all that easy on her. Thankfully V'demhe wasn't that simple of an opponent.

V'demhe thought that it must be from years of training to be able to sense her so easily. When the older Alkidike sent an arrow at her Dem failed to dodge it and suffered for it. Clearly going against Maya while injured was not a wise choice. Still she wasn't about to give up so she powered on and went in for a another attack, this one less powerful than the one before it.

Maya felt a twinge of guilt that for some reason V'demhe's injuries had lingered despite her daughters careful healing. Anyone else Teiluj had attempted to heal had been able to recover in a couple days. Had V'demhe maybe not been taking the extra medicine that Teiluj had packed along for her? If that was the case, then Maya wasn't going to back down so easy. Thankfully her arrows were practice ones and not the real weapon.
In all her thinking Maya had failed to notice V'demhe charging at her, stepping out of the way as the attack scrapped across her upper arm. No matter. Swinging out with the blunt of her bow Maya made to hit her across the shoulders with it.
