After an exhausting day with his family Gael found himself back out on the beach and slowly walking in the direction he knew Kani to be. The young matorian remembered that she had said she was always out by the water. This time he came prepared. Gael had something in his pocket to give to her. As he thought about the item he had he put one hand in his pocket as he walked. Judging by the distance he was sure he should be coming up on where she was soon.

Kani was absolutely exhausted. She had been doing nonstop training with that crazy shaman woman for days and now that she finally was allowed to have a day off she just wanted peace and quiet. The lulling sound of the ocean lapping at the shore was exactly what she wanted, and she soon found herself there searching for shells once more. Once the festival had really begun she wouldn't get these quiet moments alone, especially since now she was to help the old kook do the ritual. Oh the joys of being roped into something she didn't want to do. At least now she didn't have to think about that. She could just focus on the water and nothing else for the moment.

In no time at all he came upon the very person he was looking for. And once again she was looking for shells. Gael smiled to himself and gave a shake of his head. Thinking that she must really like shells he walked over to her. "Your brother want more shells or are you in need of more for your belt?" He asked. Hoping that he didn't startle her.

Kani jumped at the unexpected noise and dropped the shells she had been holding. She hadn't thought anyone would be out there at that time, but as soon as she spotted who it was it all made more sense. "A little of both actually. What about you? Did you get into another fight with your brother?" Kani smiled, walking up to meet Gael on the beach. She hadn't expected him to show back up, but there he was. She was actually quite glad to see him if she was being honest with herself. He was a kind soul and a lot of fun to be around. She was sure her father would be happy at the fact that she was making friends, even if he was a boy.

When he noticed that she dropped everything he laughed a little. As she got closer he leaned to the side to look at the shells she left forgotten then back at her. "No, this time I just wanted to get out of the house. All of my siblings are home so it's a bit hectic." With his one hand still in his pocket he remembered the gift he had. "Oh yes, I got something for you." He fiddled with the object before he gave Kani a bit of a mischievous smirk. "Close your eyes."

"Close my eyes? Well....I guess if you insist I will. Though I don't really see the point in it," she chuckled, covering her eyes with her hands. She was incredibly curious why he asked her to do such a thing, but she would respect his request. At least for the time being. She didn't like not seeing anything, but she trusted that Gael wouldn't do anything terrible. She did want to peek pretty badly though, enough so that she tried to look at him through the crack in her fingers.

The young male nodded his head and as Kani covered her eyes he dug into his pocket for the item. Gael wasn't so foolish as to think that she wouldn't try to peek through her fingers so when he saw that she was he grinned. Slowly he pulled his hand and the gift out of his pocket. What was revealed was a simple necklace with an ocean blue jewel hanging from it. The cut was the shape of a diamond and the gem sparkled in the light. "You can look now, Beautiful."

When Kani removed her hands and saw what he was holding she couldn't contain the gasp that followed. It looked just like the color of the ocean to her and was absolutely incredible. She didn't know how Gael had gotten something so pretty, but it was amazing to behold. This couldn't possibly be for her. There was just no way. It looked incredibly expensive anyway. There was no way he would get it for her. "It is very beautiful, but it couldn't possibly be for me. It looks like something a rich Matori would wear if there were such a thing. It is very amazing though."

He rolled his eyes a how she tried to deny that it was for her. "Indeed, I must have mistaken you for the other Kani that asked me to collect shells with her as a first date." Gael teased at her. Moving closer he unclasped the chain and motioned for her to turn around so that he could put it on her. "It is for you. It's my gift to a beautiful girl." One that he enjoyed seeing and would like to see more.

Kani turned around and allowed him to put the necklace on her. It would be rude to turn down his gift. Besides, she didn't want to. It felt good to get something from someone for once in her life. Even if the nagging feeling that he wanted something in return was always there. Ever the tease, Gael was already on about that first date business again. The big dork that he was. He'd never let her live that down, not that she minded any. "Thank you for such a wonderful gift. I greatly appreciate it," Kani said, trying to turn her head to look at him without getting in the way of what he was doing. Heras Box Sorry for the slow response. I ended up taking a nap. ;-;

When she turned and let him put the necklace on Gael smiled at her. Clasping it around her neck gently he gave a nod of his head at her thank you. "A beautiful girl should have jewels." Never mind where the jewel came from. Gael didn't want to tell Kani that the necklace had been his mothers and was left to him. Granted his mother had other ideas for it when she gave it to him but he didn't think he'd get married.

"Still a flattered I see. It really is beautiful," she muttered, gently lifting it up to look at it more closely. "So I started training with an old lady. She wants me to help her with rituals at the festivals soon." Kani explained, wanting Gael to know what she had been up to since he left. She wasn't keen on doing things with the festival, but Aza said it would be good for her training. At least now she didn't mind it as much as she had when she first started. Though really she wasn't even sure if Gael wanted to know about any of that. She'd never asked what he wanted to do with his life. It hadn't come up in any sort of conversation the last time they met. She was incredibly curious about it.

Gael could only lift his shoulders innocently when she mentioned he was still flattering her. The young matori only said what he saw to be true. Kani was beautiful. When she mentioned that she had been training with someone and rituals he had to pause for a moment to think of what she meant. "Oh? Tell me more? I am very curious as to what you will be doing for the rituals." He had thought to tease her about being the center piece for the festival but didn't think she would take kindly to such a thing. "Hopefully nothing harmful."

"I'm not to sure what I'll be doing yet, if we're being honest," Kani chuckled, fingers still idly brushing along the necklace she had been given. She didn't know too much about any of it yet. Aza had told her she wanted her to learn more basics before really getting into everything. Seeing how she had been learning basics for a while now though, she wasn't sure if she would ever leave the basics. "I think I have to help summon things maybe. Wouldn't that be interesting? Maybe one day I can summon something up nice for you," she joked.

He grinned at Kani. "I'll hold you to that, Beautiful." There was a chuckle that followed his words. Gael noticed that she was still toying with the necklace and it kept the smile on his face. At least she liked it, right? "I can't wait to see your magic skills." His words were no longer just flattery, they were truth. The young matori found that he really did want to see how skillful, not to mention powerful, Kani really was. Realizing that he actually liked Kani he suddenly became somewhat embarrassed. So he switched the conversation back to something "normal." "Need any help collecting more shells?" Gael was hoping she would say yes so that he could spend more time with her.
