Several months ago the Scouge of the Sea, Alexandria Drake was feared and respected. A fear and respect that was gained through the sword and fist.

One day the goup had raided a large Galleon from across the seas. The treasure was searched and logged and divided amongst the crew. However one item escaped the logging and Killian had found it laying on the table. It was a dark silvery ring with a sapphire blue stone.

It was given to Alex as it was rightfully hers anything found and not logged in the treasury. She enjoyed it and slipped it on her finger.

It had been months since the ring had been found and in recent months Alex had grown quite lax in her strictness more desiring to have fun than demand respect. Granted when the chips were down she would do what was needed to save herself or her crew.

One morning of a day that wasn't exciting or particular, Alex groaned with a yawn and stretched out. SHe was nude in her empty bed. Alex if anything hated an empty bed. She slowly opened her eyes and saw a small creature sitting on her bare chest. He grinned impishly down at her.

He was wearing a small pirate patch over his left eye and his black hair was pulled back into a lose ponytail. He had dark blue eyes nearly the color of a tempest. His ears were pierced and one gold ring adorned the middle of his right ear.

"uh.. hello" she said astonished her emerald green eyes were wide as could be.

The little creature giggled and his Little black wings fluttered about behind him . "Morning!" he moved quickly to be laying down on his stomach and his hands under his chin.

This small creature looked like a little child with wings.. a little naked child.

"I am Adonis" he grinned.

"Alex." she said smiling gently. 'I must be going out of my mind" she said softly "Tlaking to little winged boys."

"Angel." Adonis corrected. "i'm an Angel not a boy. well I'm a BOY but not a human one."

His little voice squeeled with excitement jumped up proudly on his feet flashing Alex

"angel? Why are you here?" she breathed softly trying not took at what was forced upon her.

"I'm here to make you a little nicer." he smiled. "don't you remember being a little nicer with that ring you wore?"

Alex looked down and realized her ring had vanished. "That was you?"

"Indeed.. NOW! What's on the agenda for today!?" he grinned happily.

"Getting dressed.. and getting you some clothes. I dont' need you running around naked." SHe sat up and he tumbled down her chest landing in a pile of blankets so only his legs were sticking out from the folds.

She rose and dressed she then tossed a scarf to him. "Wear it as a robe or something." she said as she tied her hair up.

Adonis sobbed quietly. "You're not very nice" he whined.

"WHAT?!" she glared down at him. "I"M NOT NICE?! You magically appear and expect me to take care of you and be happy about it!?"

Adonis snifled and wiped his eyes. His eyes seemed larger when he was sad.

ALex sighed and took the small scarf and starte to dress the little angel. She tucked it up and over one shoulder so he looked like he was in a roman dress robe.

"There" she smiled softly.

"Now you're nice" he grinned.

Alex shook her head and sighed. "Ya caught me.' she laughed with him.

It was one of those days that was pretty good but then in the end turned out into complete s**t.

It was night time and alex looked out the windows of her cabin at the starry sky.

Mistakes of her past threatened to resurface and she quickly became defensive. she sighed as she pushed the closest person to her away from her in fear of losing him. she shook her head and flopped down itno her chair in disgust of her past and her actions.

Adonis fluttered down and smiled as he sat happily on her knee.

"He accepts you for who you are. Not what you've done" he smiled gently at her.

"I know but it scares me that He'll lose respect for me." she closed her eyes to stop the tears from burning. One slipped out and down her cheek.
"i couldn't stand to lose him becuase of some idiotic mistake"

"Yeah but he loves you. It doesn't matter what you've done. He'll always love you and he'll accept it."

She sighed softly. "yeah I hate it when you're right."

he grinned impishly "I'm your conscience. I'm always right becuase of you"

She laughed "which means I'm always right.'

Adonis giggled and nodded as he flew up and coaxed her to bed by pulling on some of her curls.

She sighed and laid down on the bed as he curled up next to her head on her bed nestled in her curls smiling gently.

"Good night Alex."

"good night ya little gremlin" she grinned and soon fell asleep

Alex leaned back in her captians chair enjoying the wonderful gorgeous day outside. She was in a good mood and it was made even better by the booty her crew obtained from a merchant vessel.

Adonis was sitting on her desk happily enjoying using the rings as crowns wrapping himself up in pearls. he laboringly flew and landed or rather ploped into her lap.

"You didn't kill those men." he said smiling up at her.

"No, I didn't." she smirked looking down at him as he placed the rings that adorned his body on her fingers. "There is more to piracy than killing."

"really?" he sounded happy as she spoke.

She sighed looking down at him "Yes really. One only needs to kill when nessicary. They don't deserve to be killed for something that they were simply in the wrong line of work for... besides who's going to tell everyone about my daring robbery." she laughed.

Adonis sighed. "I thought at least you'd learn a lesson or two by now." he groaned.

She smiled and picked him up bringing him to her face. "I have. I've learned to relax and have some high ground. thanks" she kissed his cheek every so gently.

He turned red instantly and hid his face. "aw.. shucks."

"ya know if you were a bit older and a bit taller. I'd go for you." she laughed.

he looked stern at her. "Go for me?! I'm Your conscience! you wanna corrupt your conscience?!"

"i think it'd be fun.. don't you." she grinned getting THAT look in her eyes as she started to gently push his jacket open with her finger.

"Hey hey stop it!" he blushed hiding his bare chest from her by closing and holding it tight "That's.. not appropriate!"

"Oh please.. You cannot be so inexperienced if you do not live through some of what I've lived through." she grinned and kissed his little cheek again. "Besides you're adorable when you turn red."

Adonis groaned and covered his face with his hands as she laughed.

"you are crazy.. you know that?" he looked up at her with a grin.

"Which makes you crazy as well." she retorted.

he lifted off her hand and kissed her cheek gently. "I think you're starting to warm up to me."

"Yeah yeah so sue me." she grinned. "i couldn't refuse a pretty face."

Alex sighed softly and closed her eyes relaxing back into the tub of scalding hot water. She stretched her limbs at akward angles as she groaned.

The bath was one of the few things most pirates never had. Alex however had the desire of one left over from her youth in port, when she was a lady of the courts.

She sighed laughing about it gently. It was so long ago. Too long even for a mortal to remember, but then again she wasn't mortal.

Adonis grinned as he swam around the water getting his feathers wet and then flapping them dry as he did the breast stroke to Alex from the far side of the tub.

"Al, what were you like when you were young? Where did you grow up?" he asked paddling over and sitting on her stomach so he was still submerged up to his chest.

"what do you mean? You're my conscience. Don't you know?" she asked suddenly shocked by the question.

"Well, no. I just know you have a kindness in your heart that you've well never shown." he poked her boob when he spoke. "That's all I know. Tell me please?" he asked again pouting.

"Alright alright." She sighed softly. "My Mother was a Syren... My father was A nobleman. Actually he was the Lord of Port Asmeia. Asmeia is the wealthiest port on the sountern seas. I believe now my Great-grand nephew is running." she yawned gently.

"Did your mom and dad have a whirlwind love affair?!" Adonis giggled gently.

"I wish is could say yes but no. My father captured my mother and forced himself upon her. After she was set back to sea she found she was pregnant and didn't want me so she left me on the docks for him." she shrugged.

"That is terrible!"

"I guess. My father's children had dark hair and dark eyes. I had my mother's features. Sunset hair and emerald eyes. I of course didn't match. For my early years my father wouldn't let me out of the house or even off the grounds. So I became friends with one of the guards. " she smiled gently blushing ever so slightly.

"OOO did he like you!?"

"He actually was quite a few years older than I but not enough so he would look upon me differently. When I became older he treated me well and started teaching me about sailing and sword play. His tales of piracy and being free became my drive for working hard on my studies and my lessons. As odd as it may sound ALL nobles even women were trained in sword play. Women usually didn't pick it up well but I had a flare for it. Elyas, was the guard's name." Alex looked up at the ceiling as if remembering. "He had light skin and black hair so dark it reflected the sun with blue highlights. His eyes were the color of a tempest at sea. Dark blue and grey. They were the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. Still to this day. There was always something about him that I could never place. Some other worldliness that I, myself have. His, though, his was different. He always smelled like the sweet sea air even after we fought for hours... It was always something that astounded me."

"It sounds like you had a pretty nice life..." Adonis leaned back and listened to her. "Why did you leave?"

"I left because when I came of age My father insisted I started to act like a lady and had tried to marry me off to some old noble of the queen's court." she scoffed. "I had no intentions of marrying some old man that even with a normal lifespan I'd out live. So I went down to the docks and stowed away on a pirate ship." she laughed. "The reaper's den belonged to Robert Drake. He was the best of the best. When he found me in his cabin hiding, he saw I was a syren and that fact alone allowed me to become that which I am today. I don't think that the men woudln't have touched me if i wasn't syren. They were too afraid I'd bewitch them. So i was safe to learn like the rest of them. Soon Drake was retiring and he left me the crew and ship." she laughed.

"That is how I started into piracy." she grinned and saw the moon shining in the window. "The bath is getting cold. Let's get out and head to bed." she rose out of the bath as her Second in command stood infront of her.

"Cap'n?" he looked at her oddly.

"yes Killian?"

"Who are you talkin' to?"

"OH AHHH..." Alex laughed and shook her head. "if I said my guardian angel would you believe me?"

"With the way you've been actin' lately. Yeah I'd believe it." he smiled. "The men Like this Cap'n better. Yer more fun.." he nodded and walked out "G'night cap."

Adonis came out from behind her hair and sighed. "Whew that was close." he grinned and flew to her bed wrapped in a silk robe. "Tell me more of you and Elyas!"

Alex dried off and sighed. "Me and Elyas." she laid back on her bed and slipped under the covers. "I haven't thought of him in so long." she laughed sadly.

A young Alex sprinted down the hall way. She was 14 at the time and wore a black and jade dress to offest her hair and eyes. She was quickly becoming a beautiful woman. Despite the fact of her attire that was all aside from her growing body that said she was a woman. Everything else was not very lady like.

Alex enjoyed fighting and fencing. Her love of the sea was overwhelming. More often than not she was found by her father's guards down at the pier listening to the pirates and sailors tell of their adventures. She was young enough that it was only taken as a child's wonder. Now as she grew up it was starting to look a little different.

Alex sprinted down the hall way. She was late. Her fathe would have her hide for this. She skidded around the corner and on heels fell flat on her hands and knees. She grunted and stood up flying down the hall way. She glanced back to make sure no one saw her when she slammed right into some one. It felt like hitting a brick wall encased in armor.
She let out a small cry and fell on her back looking up at the guard.

The guard looked down on her with soft tempest colored eyes and his black hair pulled back into a ponytail. A few curls hung about his face caressing his cheeks as he grinned at her. His skin was pale and always seemed to have a soft glow coming from beneath it. This was Elyas, Captian of her father's guard.

Elyas had a reputation of being the most feared soldier on the island. Not only was he a guard to her father but also one who handled any chores not of a legal nature. Whether it was an assassination or taking care of any sort of problem the Lord had. The soldiers and men held a fear in him and would not disobey in any way. They said he had powers that they had never heard of. He was stern and cold and barely spoke unless giving orders or whispering something into Her father's ear.

So why was he looking down on her as if her mere sight and presence warmed him from the inside. Because for some reason he was sweet on her. Ever since that day he fished her out of the ocean from nearly drowning he had kept an eye on her personally.

He leaned down extending his hand to help her up. he leaned close to her ear and whispered ever so gently as Alex's face flushed from his touch.

"Your father is doing business. Straighten your dress and make a good impresson." he smiled back at her with a wink as he helped her up.

SHe nodded and smiled at him. "Thank you" she said softly. His eyes softened further with his own smile.

"go on. We'll train when you return" he turned as he said those final words that made her jump and squeel with glee. A soft chuckle echoed in the hall from Elyas walking away from her
.

Alex woke with a start and looked around. She gazed down at Adonis smiling up at her. "Your memories of him are sweet." he grinned.

"What?!" she looked at him. "You did that?" her voice showed her anger but her nostagia won. "I..I was a foolish child. He was only protecting me as ordered." She turned away from him laying back down forcing Adonis to roll off her into the mattress.

"From what I saw he loved you very much... You know there is more to what I say than the lies you let yourself believe." he grinned. "Can I see more?"

Alex looked at him with hard eyes. "Why?"

"Perhaps It will bring something out of you that has been burried long ago."

She sighed softly and nodded. "Go on if you wish."

Alex was now a woman of 18 or 19. She had grown into a woman in every possible way. Her long red tendrils hung around her face as she laughed now soaked in water. Her billowy white shirt was now soaked through competely allowing her skin underneath to be exposed. Her Knee length pants clung to her as if they were glued.

Elyas laughed loudly at his repost of throwing her into the fountian in the gardents. His back was to her as he spoke. "Ah you will never win against me if your left side is that we-" he turned and then gazed upon the figure of the young girl he once knew.

"My lady please." he put his hand up to block his view and turned his head.

"What?" she said honestly. "it's not like you've never seen me nude before." she stepped out of the fountain pulling her shirt up and wringing it out giving him a wonderful view of her bare chest.

"Yes but you were 12 then... it is different now." he glared back at her and then widened his eyes and turned his head away gazing at the ground with alot of determination.

"Oh? So.. now that i actually have breasts things have changed?" she said swaggering over to him letting her hips move sensually back and forth in a swishing motion. Her body was nearly pressed close to his when he backed off and turned.

"Do not tease ALex. it isn't nice." He said scathingly at her.

"It's not teasing if you don't find me attractive." she shrugged still thinking of herself as the young girl with a crush to his untainable love. "nothing has changed."

Elyas looked back at her with a soft glare. "Do not be stupid. Your wit is far faster than the tip of your rapier. Use it." he scowled still blushing having a hard time meeting her eyes.

"Y-You're blushing.. " she said softly as she finally allowed herself to realize what he truely meant. "You mean.. Elyas" she breathed softly.

"You've kept me on a leash for so long and you hadn't a clue had you?" he looked to her and smiled gently.

"I truely didn't. If I had known.. I..-" she was cut off by his gloved finger pressing against her lips.

"Do not worry." he smiled. "I simply wonder if that little 14 yearold's affection for me is still there." he grinned at her

It was alex's turn to blush. 'What?! I didn't I mean." she scowled folding her arms across her chest. "Was I that obvious?"

"To a 14year old I would say no. To an adult. Well, you were quite." he laughed. "Considering you memorized my schedual and happened to bump into me through out the day in area's of the castle you had no business in being."

Alex let out an exasperated groan, causing Elyas to laugh. "You knew?"

"i thought it was rather sweet and adorable." he laughed again as he ran his hand through her hair. "Now would my lady allow me to give a favor of my affections to her?"

Alex's breath caught in her throat and blushed deeply. "Yes."

Elyas leaned down using his thumb and forefinger to raise her chin ever so gently and pressed a kiss against her lips. At first it was a chaste kiss but suddenly Elyas dropped his sword and pulled her against the line of his body, kissing her deeply showing the passion he longed to for so long. His actions caused Alex to let out a girlish squeel as he took a kiss from her. His skin was warm, too warm. As her eyes fluttered it seemed as though his skin was glowing. He pulled back and that warm glow faded gently.

Alex was suddenly breathless in her bed as she looked up at Adonis. "wow. you were even a devious person then" he grinned.

"enough" she said swatting at him and rolled out of her bed. She stood looking out the large stained glass windows. "You had to pick that one." she said softly as her breath caught in her chest.

"I picked the one closest to your heart. Believe me I've sifted through memory after memory of your lovers and they are all the same. No passion no love just a need to fill. " he shook his head. "The only one that brought any emotion from you was Elyas."

"Yes. But he's dead. IT's been over 60 years." She shook her head "No use in remembering that which we've lost." she wiped the tears from her eyes and shook her head.

"What would you say if I said it is a good chance he is still alive."

Alex looked at the little angel as if he had four heads. "what! What do you mean?"

"By his looks it appears that he is a fey." he said simply. "

"Fey?" she scowled. "A fairy?"

"a Sidhe fairy to be exact. That's the only thing I know of the glows during a passion of love or anger."

"He's probably forgotten about me." she said softly looking down.

"If you've not forgotten about him in nearly a century then I don't think he's forgotten about you."

Temporary crew. Alex hated them, hated everything about them. Sifting through them picking and choosing. Getting the bunks ready... She hated it all.

Of course her own loyal crew out numbered her temporary crew but she hated needing them.

Adonis smiled gently sitting on her shoulder. It was clear now to everyone she had something around her. The loyal crew didn't question it when strange things started to float to her quarters. They would laugh and either help out the invisable creature or simply wave at it. As Alex was lightening up Adonis seemed to be gaining in power. He could become visable to others for brief amounts of time. With practice he was holding it longer.

Everyone quipped that it was her guardian angel. Little did they know....

Alex sighed standing infront of the rag tag crew when her eyes settled on a figure clad in black and a cloak hiding his face. The way he stood and moved.. the way he breathed.. Brought a flutter to her stomach and her heart raced.

"Elyas." she said softly as she stalked over to his one. She with out warning threw his hood back and saw a gorgeous man, who was not Elyas.

His chestnut brown hair was pulled back to reveal his sunkissed face and Hazel green eyes.

"what's your name sailor?" She asked looking him over trying to fight the blush on her face from thinking it was Elyas.

"Draven." He smiled again with a courtly bow. The sight of the bow flooded the warmth up her chest. Elyas' bow.

"do you know a man named Elyas Madragoran?" her voice was barely audible.

"No, ma'am can't say I have." he smiled "I can be him if you wish" His smile was too suggestive and caused Alex to recoil.

"Enough." She turned and stalked back infront of the men. "You know what it's like to sail for another captian well... This is nothing like it. You'll live you'll enjoy life and women and if you're lucky you'll still have a life by then end of the journey."

"Where to captian?" Killian asked.

"Southern Cadre. We're looking for the Tomb of faerie" she smirked. Killian smiled gently and followed his captian into her cabin.

"captian I cannae help but notice the theme of items recently. Granted we're still gettin rich but...Why?"

Adonis smiled softly and fluttered to her bed to lye down and watch the action.

"Because I'm looking for something that I had lost long ago." she sighed and looked back. "If my journey is not to the crew's liking we can change course."

"No no.. it's not that.. It's just we're worried about ya. You've seemed so sad lately. "

ALex laughed lightly. "Killian you've been like a father to me." she rose from her chair and hugged him gently. "If you lost a love that you thought you could get back would you?"

"Of course.... Ah that Elyas chap."

"What?! How did you-"

Killian laughed. "A little eye-patched bird told me. Get some rest captian we'll set sail in a few hours."

Hours passed and Alex spent the time on the deck, She was however distracted by the new crew member, Draven. His for some reason captivated her and nearly everything he did reminded her of Elyas.. After the sun set she walked back into her cabin... tears streamed down her face as she couldn't help but cry.

Was it true that she was filling her bed to try and fill her heart. Elyas was the only man she had loved.. She'd be forever drawn to him...

She undressed and laid on the bed. Adonis smiled softly as he curled up next to her on her pillow stroking her face.

"Why can't you be bigger so I could love you?" she quipped to him.

"I do my best Alex." he gently kissed her nose and sighed softly. "I can only do so much."

Moring rose and Alex had one of the best nights of sleep she had in a long time. Her eyes were still closed and she teetered between sleep and awake.. She could feel a pair of warm strong arms around her As she shifted she could feel something soft pressing into her back as well.

She opened her eyes slowly to see a tanned chest infront of her. her arms were wrapped around his mid section as she slept in his arms.

Who was this?!

she looked up and saw Adonis' face slackened in sleep. "god" she whispered softly as he was utterly breathtaking. An angel truely. She looked down his body and it was sculpted in perfection not one thing could have been wrong with him. She shifted to move away but he pressed the line of them closer together. She blushed fiercely when she realized he was nude as well...

"Adonis." she said softly. The door opened and Draven walked in. His eyes flickered onto the scene and something flashed in them creating a fire but faded leaving doubt it was ever truely there.

"Captian it is morning and chow is in the hall." His voice was stiff as he saw them curled in each other's arms. "It appears your reputation proceeds you. You could even seduce angels from god." he smiled wryly and walked out.

"He's right." Adonis opened his one eye and smiled up at her. "Not so cute when i'm big huh?"

Alex shook her head and looked back at him as she sat up. "Breathtaking is more like it." she spoke honestly. "I knew you were able to grow a little but you're the actual height of a human" she shook her head.

"When you start moving down the right path I gain ablitites. Of course i probably won't beable to hold this form long at first but soon I could be this big all the time." he grinned wrapping his arms around her. "Would you like that?"

She shook her head. "I- I don't know."

Alex's crew sailed into port to restock and it was the first time Adonis was big enough to experience anything as a real person could. He drake and ate and drank some more. Every barmaid in the joint was swooning over him and his feathered wings. Oddly enough it wasn't THAT rare of a sight. There were half angels that walked the earth. Most of the time they were desendants from heaven, but they too were allowed to enjoy a drink.

Adonis giggled and snuggled next to Alex whom despite her table full of empty mugs appeared less than happy. A melodic tune wafted through the air and it peaked Alex interest. IT was a tune she had not heard for nearly a century. She looked over and saw Draven sitting alone by the band slowly moving his head to the rythm of the music.

Alex rose dislodging Adonis from her and swayed over to his table. "Draven... This is one of my favorite songs.." she smiled lopsidedly at him.

"Is it captian?" he smiled warmly back at her his eyes light with a strange light.

She smiled "dance with me"

"Yes m'lady" he rose with a liquid grace and took her hands in his. She blushed as he pulled her towards the small open area infront of the band.

Alex smiled softly as she fit into the crook of his arm as she danced with him to the song. "you dance beautifully." she whispered softly as she rested her head against his shoulder.

He said nothing but held her closer still. They danced the night away until Alex was so exhausted she fell asleep on the bench next to Draven.

Adonis smiled gently and helped Draven get their captian back to the ship.

She dreamed...

His last view of her had been her back. Her escape hadn't been near the success she had hoped. He had been watching over her as she stealthily made her way around the outer courtyard, and had picked up way around to the little known garden entrance for the servants. What she hadn't noticed was the small contingent of guards whose attention she had drawn. He knew what she was about, he knew she despised being cooped up, and despite himself, he could not allow anyone to stop her, even if it meant his never seeing her again.

He watched as she slipped out of the gate, nearly silent as she clicked the lock back into place from the other side. Sighing to himself, Elyas said good bye to the only one he had ever loved, and good bye to the position he had held for the Council of Eight. He would likely be exiled from Avalon for his treasonous act in going against their wishes, but, for her, even though she knew it not, he would do so gladly.

Landing lightly in front of the door, he told the guards the armored fellows that they needed to find somewhere else to be. He leaned back against the solid oak of the door, in an almost lazy way, laying his left forearm on his blade's hilt in a non-threatening gesture considering he drew that weapon with his right hand. had a lesser man bared steel and swiped at them, the reaction would have been the same. Elyas' prowess with his chosen accoutrements was unmatched, having been proven time and again, and they weren't about to take any chances.

Placing himself between the princess and her father's chosen guards was as good as attacking them, and even though they knew the most likely outcome, there was no hesitation. They drew and charged him, as one. Elyas appeared to hug himself before they reached him. His left arm crossed protectively across his chest and over his right shoulder as his right hand crossed his stomach to his left hip.

Only a select handful, that Elyas had trained, could ever tell of how he drew for a battle. Sadly, these men were not so forewarned. Two stances, seven forms, and three seconds later there were six corpses at his feet, not even the single clash of a blade had sounded to alert the towers. Hiding their bodies behind a low hedge, Elyas took his final leave of the castle, never to return. Hurrying after Alex was foolish, he already knew it was too late. Something inside him told him he had already missed his chance. Yet, even in the face of his infallible intuition, he ran anyway, just in time to see the sails silouetted in the distance. Leaving the courtyard was the last time Elyas Mandragoran would ever lay eyes on the Lady Alexandria Devonshire.

Draven had had very little to drink that night, he was busy doing what he did best, observing. He was ensuring that none of the crew slipped too deeply into their cups or they would end up either passed out or pissed off. it was a delicate balance and required an eye that was not clouded by ale. He had requested a few older songs that sparked a few pleasant memories and was gently moving his head in time to the rhythm when a rather drunken captain approached him and gave him a smile that set his heart to pounding in his chest as so very few had ever manged in him. He pushed the sensation down, struggling as those kinds of feelings are never wont to do as their told.

Holding her close, at her request, Draven lost himself to the music, the company, and his memories. It was far too soon, for him, when it had ended and his lovely, fire-haired captain was snoozing fitfully on the bench, her head nestled into his lap. Lifting her into his arms, gently, Draven headed for the door, Adonis just ahead to open doors. Removing the bulkiest of her clothing, without making her indecent, Draven tucked Alex into bed, almost lovingly. he smoothed her hair, as much as her hair was ever smoothed, and left a glass of water on her nightstand to fight the morning thirsts after a night of alcoholic beverages. Upon noticing Adonis' continued presence in the room, Draven's eyes flashed in an indescribable emotion bordering on menace before disolving into his typical, watchful expression.

"You take care of her, sea gull. She means more to m-err, us than you do."

With the parting jab, Draven closed Alex's cabin door and took up post just outside where he awaited her awakening, he appeared no worse the wear for his lack of sleep.

Adonis smirked lightly as Draven snapped at him. "Indeed. I should have it no other way." he smiled lightly.

He soon shrank into his normal size and rested on her pillow. Alex slept soundly. Her dreams surrounded nothing but Elyas...

It was a gorgeous evening in the Kingdom of Asmeia. Her father was holding a ball in honor of his son's birthday, Remis. Being the first son of the king always meant extravagance beyond compare. Alex never recieved such a thing but then again she was a b*****d child.

Alex was 18-19. It was two evenings after Elyas had decided to reveal his true feelings to her. Her heart was still a flutter when she thought of the kiss he had given her. A blush creeped to her face and she surpressed a giggle that turned into a gleeful whine. She was to be escoreted by the Lord Byron, unforunately for him Fortunately for Alex, his health was something of concern and he was unable to attend. Alex's father had deicded she would still make an appearance unescorted.

After what seemed like hours of maids primping, Alex was finially ready. She wore a blue teal corsetted dress. It hung off her shoulders showing her curvacious neck and shoulders. The elegance of her neck was exposed as her hair was pulled up into a ringlet pile on her head with a few curls caressing her neck. She was an enchanting vision at the least.

The ball was something of a bore with nothing but court intrique going on and far too much of it gave alex little interest and excitement. It was waining into the final hour when Alex's favorite song swept through the ball. She did her best to stifle a yawn into a grin as it came on. Soon soft fingertips ran their way across her shoulders and over the back of her neck. A shiver ran through her as she turned to see who exactly beloned to the touch.

Elyas smiled gently at her. A blush creeped over her cheeks as he gave her little words and swept her into a dance that lasted the rest of the night and far past the invitation of the guests...

Alex woke to the light splitting in the window and seemingly into her head. She let out a growl and put her hand to her head. "How much did i drink?"

"enough." Adonis laughed.

After a short bath and some more grumbles Alex stood leaning to the side drinking the water on her nightstand.

"you know alex." Adonis smiled holding her clothes for her. "I think you should get to know Draven."

"what?"

"Yes i believe so. I'm not sure why but I think he'd be an asset to the permenent crew."

"I cannot!" she hissed yanking her clothes from him. "I cannot even think beside him let alone anything else! I will not!" she shook her head.

"did you ever think it is time to move on? Perhaps your heart is ready to find another and has. You said it yourself you are intoxicated by him."

"Get out adonis.. go help killian.. I... send in Draven on your way out." she slipped her skirt on and started to fasten her corset.

Adonis smiled and fluttered outside in his miniture form. "Draven?" he asked as he looked at the man guarding the door. "Alex would like to see you." he smiled gently..

As Draven walked in alex finished gulping down the water and smiled gently at him. "Draven.. It has come to my attention that you helped me last night in getting back to my cabin. I'd like to thank you." she pointedly didn't look at him.. she walked around and sat down on her desk infront of him and looked up at him fully.

"Do you wish to be apart of the perment crew?" she asked her face started flush as she looked over his features... "I have heard you are quite the sailor and are adept in all things.." she let her eyes trail him and then looked back up at him.

"There is something familar about you... I feel it.. do you? or perhaps it is the rantings of an old lady." she laughed sadly and shook her head. "well what say you?"

As Draven stood guard outside his current captain's door, he watched, for what felt like the millionth time, the glory of the sun rising over the ocean. He had been privy to sights that stopped the heart and beauty unparalleled, but the sight of a sunrise never ceased to keep him rapt. it helped him realize all the wonders there were yet in the world to see, and, at the same time, how, by seeing the same wonder with renewed vision, how much he had missed the first time.

Leaning back against the oaken door, Draven's eyes were half-lidded in contemplation, his pose utterly relaxed. He felt the presence before he saw it. A long dagger the size of a short sword was in his hand and at Adonis' throat faster than a thought. Draven's eyes flicked to his miniature form and the blade was gone as if it hadn't ever been pulled.

As if nothing had occurred, Draven replied, "Thank you, Adonis."

With no further ado, he slipped into the captain's quarters silently.

At her first words, he smiled, gently.

"I was simply doing my job, Captain."

At her sudden query, Draven showed real emotion for the first time. Surprise.

"I- I don't know, Captain. I never thought about it. May I have time to consider your offer?"

"I do feel like I know you from somewhere, Captain, but I don't know where. You aren't that old. I've known many that were older, I'm certain.."

With a knowing smile, Draven left her cabin on that note. Deciding he needed time to think, he stripped down to his skivvies and leapt from the bow in a perfect dive that ended in nearly no splash. Why did the captain want him as a permanent member? She didn't even know him... Did she?

Adonis grinned watching Draven leap off the side of the ship. He quickly moved back into the Captian's cabin and smiled seeing Alex pacing in thought.

"Go swimming." he said softly landing on her desk and watching her pace back and forth. "It always helps you think clearer."

"Yeah." she said softly. "The ship is at a slow crawl I guess i could spare the time." she said softly before melting out the back of her cabin onto a small makeshift terrace.

Her clothes were gone in an instant and the cold cerulean water was rushing over her. As always when the water engulfted her.. her skin tinted to a gentle pale color making her scales seemingly glow. Her emerald eyes sparkled as her hair seemingly shined from some unknown light.

She swam gently in the water feeling it caress against her skin. Her fingers as always started to web.. this time it was much quicker. She paused in the water gazing over her nude and quick transformation.. She idly wondered how long it would be before she couldn't walk any longer.

She snapped her head to the side as a shadow passed behind the ship. Curiously she swam over to inspect the mass and found Draven swiming about... She blushed (as much as a blue person could) at his perfectly sculpted figure.. If she had to breath with air it would have been taken from her lungs..

She pushed herself closer quietly moving towards him like a curious fish. her head tilted to the side. Finially her fingers brushed through the extra long mane of hair that floated passed her. It would have been down past his knees had it not been placed up in a tight triple braid all the time. She once again passed her hands through it. He seemingly didn't realize she was there and the natrual beauty of him was astounding...

As the cold water closed over his head, Draven immediately curled around under the ship, taking it's entire length in a few powerful strokes. He had always loved the feel of the ocean against his skin. It always reminded him of home. Returning to the surface for air, he luxuriated in the freedom of the water, the feel that he could, at last, be unfettered, if only for a few moments. He grinned wickedly at the feel of the currents as they tickled against his unclothed flesh and tugged lightly at the long mane of flowing hair he had kept bound for many years, now.

There were few he had seen who could compare to his length of hair. Though noone he had met here had ever known, it was a source of constant pride with him. In the society of his birth, the length of a warrior's hair was equal to his prowess in battle. When a fight was lost, as a sign of defference and a show of disgrace, the fighter's hair was shorn. Draven's hair had never been cut. From birth to present age, his hair had been allowed to grow, untouched and ever-displaying the perfection of his chosen art.

Suddenly, he became aware of another presence, spinning swiftly in the water, he was momentarily blinded by his own hair as it spread out before him, he felt something tangle itself in one of his braids as he silently cursed himself for leaving all of his weapons on board the ship. He had never felt threatened, much less attacked in the sea before. His recklessness had caused him to be caught unaware and unarmed, not to mention completely naked.

Poising himself for battle, a friendly current pushed his hair to one side and his eyes were met with a vision such as he'd never witnessed in all his years. Struck dumb and utterly enchanted with the beautiful creature before him, Draven was utterly motionless as his eyes travelled their course up and down the length of her. Suddenly, he realized what form of creature was before him. It was one of the most feared denizons of the deep. Shaking off the magical sway the syren held over him. It either wished to kill him or take him to mate. He needed to determine the amount of force he would need to convince her otherwise. He was forced to continually try and shake how incredible she looked from his mind. Were it not for his natural resistance to magic in all it's forms, he did not think he could have kept himself from doing anything she desired of him. In fact... Would it be so bad? He kept finding himself gazing longingly at her as he angrily kept shaking the creeping tendrils of euphoria from his mind. If she didn't act soon, she wouldn't have to.

Alex from what she remember heard of the meaning behind the length of hair of a warrior. She smiled gently curiously wondering why this human was following fey lore.. or how in godsake he could have grown his hair to that length in so few years.

She froze in mid movement as he turned. She felt his hair slide through her fingers as he pushed his hair from his face. he froze looking at her. Gaping actually. Alex smiled softly at him in realization that he didn't recognize her. He kept shaking his head as she swam closer to him. He was enraptured by her.

She figured this much out that her powers as a syren were multiplied when she was in the water. No man could resist her but he was doing his damnedst. She swam over to him with one push of her legs and circled around him. she used her clawed nails to pull his thong out of his braid and let his full hair be released.... She twisted herself into the cloud of hair cooing gently at it's feel against her skin. IT was soft and like liquid silk.

"Magnificent." she breathed softly as she put her hands on to his shoulders. She did her best to dampen her powers so he could think clearly but still be attracted to her. "Draven.. you are breathtaking." she breathed into his ear from behind him still in a cloud of his own hair.

"like a tempest in the sea... what brings you out here?" she smiled softly pushing her hair back, slightly jealous that she had always had to cut it due to her riggors of piracy...

Trying to shake the last of her ensorceling cobwebs from his mind, Draven lost sight of her, feeling a tugging at the back of his head. Finally blocking the last vestiges of the magic from his mind and clearing his thoughts, he heard,

"Magnificent.", Was that her? What was she talking about? How could he hear her underwater?

Suddenly, he felt a pair of clawed hands grasp his shoulders. A familiar voice cooed in his ears. As the question was asked, his quick wits had already pieced the fragments of his mind together.
She was a Syren. Of course! Why hadn't he thought of that earlier? It explained so much!

"Weell, you scared me with all that talk of making me a permanent member. I have a fear of commitement, you see... So I jumped ship in the hopes that a passing ship would pick me up.", He grinned at her, now that he had gotten used to how she looked, he wasn't unable to resist her charms, anymore.

Seeing her wrapped in his hair, he, playfully, began pulling her in like a netted fish. "Seems, I've captured a rather unusual find this time... What do you suppose I should do with this one, hmm?"
