Sable had a stack of papers with her, which wasn't unusual in her coffee shop hops. Nor was the folder of information, though usually those didn't hold missing persons information. She'd tried to doll up the files to make them look like her character files. For her musing that were more than a poem long. Though she never really ever wrote anything horribly significant while at the coffee shops she still occasionally liked to join in on the poetry nights.
Luckily one of the assignments was actually to locate a missing person at the coffee shop. The Morning Mugger, Sable never really understood the name because while there were morning people here most of them looked like Zombies before their first cup o' joe. Granted the Mugger served perhaps the second best coffee and donuts she'd ever had from a coffee shop the first best being one of those main stream places she never really bothered to name drop since everyone went there.
To her surprise one of the managers at the Morning Mugger was in fact or use to be a Negaverse agent and Sable had sat looking at the picture and name. Very double o seven of her, at least Cassandra Vanhorn would've been double o seven had she not gone missing. So Sable sat there pondering, her pin tip to her lips tapping as she thought. Why would Captain Thunderstone ever disappear like this?
From the files it didn't look like Thunderstone had been a Captain long, just a few months before disappearing. Actually, "I think I hit on her once or twice..." Sable paused looking again at Cass's photo. Maybe she could use that to her advantage? The Lt's wheel's were churning.

The cafe's chair rattled as it was dragged away from the table and a curvy body in hugging jeans found its way into it. There was a smile on Ariel's lips as she leaned back in her chair and crossed one long leg over the other.
"I didn't keep you waiting long, did I?" She greeted the lieutenant, for all the world as though they were friends meeting for coffee. A quick glance about the shop had confirmed no Cassandra there. Not that Cinnabar had expected her to be so bold as to be out in plain sight in her old work place, no less. It would have made things easy, though maybe disappointingly so.
"Did I miss anything good?"
Sable had chosen this place to stake out, so she had let her go at it, assuming the woman knew something of what she was doing. If this was her comfort zone, then there was no reason not to take advantage of it. People worked best with what they knew. Cin's eyes drifted to the papers Sable was perusing, an eyebrow lifting. Did she have the files she'd given her just... out in plain sight? It was hard not to jump to conclusions... maybe it was a different stack of papers, or she had some alias that made sense with them.

Sable looked up from what she was working on. "Oh! No not at all." She smiled sweetly as she glanced around before shifting to be a little more comfortable in her seat.
"A few hot waitresses just left, besides that I don't think you missed much." Sable chuckled as she pulled out a black book and handed it to Ariel.
"You said you were interested in my writings, to see if you wanted me to write the story on the characters you offered me?" She smiled giving a small pat to the folders."Oh Sable dear, I didn't realize you were going to have a date!" The lady sat down the coffee cup and a plate of cookies. "Ahah, if I had I would've asked what to bring!" Sable paused as she looked at Ariel and then to the Waitress looking almost confused before she went "Ohhh, Rosie, nooo~ Ariel here is a really good friend of mine. She's an editor and the company she works for needs a good story to get themselves on the map." Sable was smiling and gave a giggle.
"It's my big break if they like my poems and limericks."Rosie paused and looked between them, "Oh! Well how cute~, what would you like dear?" She asked offering Ariel the menu seeming as if not to believe that they were 'just friends', "If you'd like I can come back in a little bit to get your order~."

"Damn, how disappointing. Just my luck." Cinnabar chuckled with a warm, rich sound. Hot waitresses? Who could say no to that? Though, really, eye candy would be more distracting than helpful right now, when eyes should be watching for things that were more important and quite likely harder to notice.
She reached to accept the black book Sable handed her and settled back into her chair, bracing the book open on her palm as she rifled the pages. Red eyes were drawn upwards as one of the remaining waitresses came to the table with something obviously ordered before she arrived.
"Just coffee, please, if you don't mind. Black. Sable and I have some... limericks to talk about." Cin said as she offered the woman a silky smile that was all promises and appreciation. Limericks? Really? She hadn't been aware this woman was a poet, but hey, she could play along. Even if she didn't feel like she looked like an editor in her tight jeans and motorcycle tank top. Maybe the waitress would read it as being 'off duty' and meeting with a friend.
She turned her attention back to the book in her hand then, sliding her finger under a page to flip it to the next as she scanned the contents.

The book actually noted different things she'd learned about Cass. Including the last time anyone saw her, if she'd given a notice and such. Details to the best of her ability in rhymes and versus."Ahh, one coffee coming right up. I had a boss joke once how he liked it like his soul. . . " She mused before turning to walk away. "Never could figure that man out. I wish he hadn't been such a grump." Sable laughed a little bit, "Oh Rosie you crack me up." When the waitress was out of sight and ear shot Sable sighed and slouched down a bit before crossing her arms with annoyed look.
"I think we're barking up the wrong tree. The last time anyone's heard from her has been weeks ago." Sable took one of the cookies from the plate and the drink and started nibbling on one. "She might be smarter than we think." She continued in a fairly hushed manner, "She might not even come back to any of her old haunting grounds. Maybe we need to branch out. I know every coffee shop and hang out around for this sorta crowd."
Sable paused as she caught Rosie out the corner of her eye, "I mean after all limericks on coffee shops can only go so far. One's always got to branch out to color a real character right?""Here you go dear. If you need anything else lemme know." She smiled and looked at the cookie plate, "Sable do be a dear and don't eat them all in one sitting again, I give you a whole plate so you have some to take home with you. I know how much you like them." With that Rosie wandered off to help other customers.

Cin's foot bounced as she raised an eyebrow, skimming over the information disguised as poetry. She would have preferred it offered straight up, but whatever. She smiled anyway, a lazy, amused sort of expression while she read and waited for her coffee.
"If you feel this place is tapped out, then by all means, move on to a place you think might do better. I'm aware that these trails are cold and might not produce results. That's why this isn't my only avenue to investigate. Spread a wide enough net and you're sure to turn up something." She mused, keeping her voice low so Sable would be the only one to hear her. "Maybe she won't come back, but maybe one of her friends has been in touch with her. Maybe one of her family members. There's no way of knowing without following those leads to their ends."
Cinnabar lifted her head as Rosie came back and she gave her another warm smile in thanks as she took the coffee. Fingers through the loop of the handle, she lifted it to her mouth and blew on the surface to cool it.

Hopefully Sable at least got points for creativity. She listened to Cin and nodded as she spoke. Taking a bit of cookie and a sip of her latte. Which was conveniently in a Styrofoam cup.
"I'm working what angles I can, see if I can dig up some more in the mean time with any one else. I might be able to reach out to her family." She paused, "Turns out she was one of the girls I'd flirted with a bit." Sable was leaning closer finger tips together as she rested her chin on her thumbs.
"Couldn't take much to invest myself into the family, as a concerned friend. She didn't seem to mind me when I hit on her. So it's always a good place as any, maybe those doors won't close in my face if I'm a concerned friend."
She'd been watching a few crime dramas on the television despite her aversion to them. "I've been watching crime dramas to help me figure out something I could attempt to use."
She paused, "Turned out fruitless as most of them are corny." There was a small shrug as she offered Cin a cookie, "I'm not sure if this is your taste in food but they're pretty good."
"I might try one of the other coffee shops that host a music night. I've heard she was interested in writing her own songs. I know a few that run nights like that."

Cin laughed, setting down the notebook to reach for her own coffee.
"That's not a bad idea, talking to the family. Most defectors are careful about not bringing suspicion to the people they left behind, but you never know. Just remember that most of that stuff on T.V. is fake... go too overboard with it and people will know you don't know what you're doing." She chuckled as she sipped. Reality was so much different than the crap they showed in dramas. They were 'dramas' for a reason.
The half youma waved off the cookie that was offered.
"You can eat those, but thanks anyway. I'm not a 'sweets' kind of person... most of them are too over powering for me." She said as she straightened up out of her slouch. "Can I take this notebook, or do you still need it? I'd appreciate it if you went ahead with what you planned and then filled me in on how it went. I doubt you'd know the woman even talked with her... glamour is a ******** pain sometimes, but if there are any hints she's still in contact with her family, we've got leverage."
Pushing out her chair, Cin rose and offered the dark haired woman her hand, her smile warming her face. "Thanks for helping me out, Sable. I appreciate it."

Sable smiled, "Well yeah I know the stuff on TV is fake, but doesn't mean they don't base some of it off of real topics." She bit into the cookie that was turned down and sipped some of her coffee.
"I understand, maybe next time you can give me a heads up on the food types you like? Just so I don't feel bad for never having anything you'd be interested in." She smiled and didn't expect Cin to give an answer for now. When the note book was asked about she paused looking at it, "Oh you can take it. No problem. I can remember where I'm headed next."
There was a smile and a nod. "No problem, keep me updated with anything else you might need?" She asked as the other left. She eventually followed suit sliding the cookies into a plastic container of her own.
