Silver_tigress18 Just want to reserve the rp in case we don't get to it for a bit. <3 Ariya stood on the shore watching as more and more boats were coming in. She could see their silhouettes in the distance as well as the ones that were docking. So many of her sisters were returning home. There was a moment when the young apprentice wondered if she would see her brother, Rishima, again. Though she knew it would likely be a tense situation so she hoped he stayed away. Moving along the beach she drew nearer to what was happening and who was coming ashore.

Maya stretched, bending in a way that would make her back crackle just a little. She was sore from the long continuous rowing she had finished making in order to get herself and V'demhe from Jauhar to Chilbale where she was now just docking. Leaning back a little Maya pulled the paddles in and tilted her neck to the side releasing more of the stiffness she was starting to feel. With her Kakkara had come leaving Pacju back in Ast with her daughter Teilujj. Blinking at the shifting light that streamed in though the trees Maya jumped out of the boat and into the water. She planned to push it the rest of the way into the shore. Her feet catching the waters bottom, helping to give her leverage to push the boat into the dry shore. The water felt good on her skin and cooled her though she did wonder how V'demhe felt finally returning home. Pulling herself out of the water Maya motioned with her hands for Kakkara to join her. The large Janarim pulled itself out of the boat with a yawn as he moved towards Maya's side. The mount was much tamer now than it originally had been when it was still a young creature. Maya smiled, reaching out to run her hand three times over the top of it's head she was proud of her mount her powerful companion. He had finally bonded to her with age and had tamed down considerably because of it. Learning her commands with ease. Movement in the distance caught her gase. "Hmn?" The figure didn't look like it was older than V'demhe. Was it possible her 'mother' was much younger than her? Probably not. Maya surmised as she glanced over the figure, was she headed their way?

One Alkidike in particular caught her attention and it was the one that docked on shore with a large creature. Ariya stared at them both. Since she was getting nearer she started to notice little details about them. Maya, for instance, looked so gentle and pretty. Being that it was the first time she'd even thought of another sister in such a way it made her make a funny face. The animal next to her had.. scales? Ariya was sure that was what they were called. Since she didn't stop walking she got even closer to the two. Vaguely she saw another Alkidike get out of the same boat and say something before walking off. (Dem said she's gonna go see her mom, she'd meet up with Maya later.) Ariya smiled at Maya before she lifted her hand to wave. "Welcome home, Sister."

Maya kept her focus on the Alkidikes approach. There was always the off chance that the sister could be one of the extremists she had heard so much about. Erring on the side of caution Maya turned her gaze away but tracked the sisters movements through the dulled vibrations in the sand, it was harder than usual but the added bonus of sound made it a little easier. Turning back from Kakkara towards the boat Maya searched for her bag. Looking up as V'demhe spoke something and gave a swift nod.
Finally finding what she was looking for Maya stretched up in time to see the sister had approached her but she hadn't heard her say anything to V'demhe. Odd so it wasn't a sister who knew the younger Alkidike so was her assumption correct and she was one of the extremists. Maya opened her mouth to say something and froze. The last time she had jumped to conclusions she had been chased out of Ast and away from her daughter. Giving a half smile Maya waved. From the way the girl spoke it didn't seem like she had left the island before. "Thank you, it is pleasant to be home among our sisters and of course mother." Maya's eyes flashed towards Aisha before returning to Ariya, "was there something I could help you with Sister?"

She smiled as she heard that the woman was pleased to be home with her sisters and Aisha. Ariya knew that all sisters were like that, but for some reason it was more meaningful this time. When asked if there was something that she could be helped with she instantly shook her head but then stopped. She didn't want the other Alkidike to walk away from her just yet. Moving her eyes past Maya and to the creature she had she gave a tilt of her head. "Could you tell me what beast you have? I plan on becoming a Guardian and I know I will need a mount." Granted that time was way off but she still wanted to be prepared. That and it gave her time to talk to this Alkidike.

Maya gave a shocked expression at first before giving another soft smile. Straitening her back and swinging her bags up over her shoulder Maya glanced back towards Kakkara. "You haven't been off the Isle have you? It's odd you don't usually meet a Sister who hasn't done a little research into the various creatures out there. That's Kakkara..."
At the sound of his name Kakkara's nose rose in the air and he sniffed about. Was he being called for? The tone of voice didn't sound like it was something he should jump into action over. There was too calm an atmosphere around him. Yawning he turned his head away and curled up, he would listen to Maya later.
Placing her free hand on her hip as she watched him Maya pouted a little. "Well to answer your question that's a Janarim. He comes from the land of Oba, he's more viscous than most of the creatures I've watched. I much prefer the Radaku but they are a small mount, they suit some but personally not me. I prefer Janarim like Kakkara for mounts and Radaku as companions. I've also debated having a Kinfa, but I gave that away, far to noisy and demand too much freedom. But their loyalties are as hard to win over as a Janarim."
Maya's eyes drifted back from Kakkara and back towards the Alkidike beside her. "What made you choose to become a Guardian? What do you aim for as your weapon?"

Her hand came up to rub at her neck as she gave a shy smile. "That easy to tell huh?" Ariya chuckled but she listened in to what all the woman had to say. She was interested in the beast. It had size and the look about it to scare intruders away. Nodding she decided it would be a good mount to have, though she wasn't so sure she wanted to go to Oba to get one. The questions that Maya posed to her at the end made her eyes go toward the waters and even the shores beyond. Rishima is the one that helped me to figure out what path my heart wanted. So now I just need a mount to go with my spear." Ariya wasn't sure if the woman would know who she was talking about so she brought her eyes back to Maya and quickly tried to explain. "He's a wonderful hybrid." Now she just hoped this woman wasn't like her mother.

Maya gave a half smile again. "Well I guessed from the way you spoke, and your lack of knowledge about the Janarim. Means you either never left, or hadn't been off the isle for at least a good four or five years. In which case, I took the first guess." Shifting her shoulders a little Maya followed the girls gaze towards the water. However the sound of a familiar name had the older Alkidike dropping her bags. Ignoring the way they tumbled towards the ground, she didn't even care if the items spilled out. Her head jerked back to look the girl over a shocked expression lit up her face. Her antenna rose just a little at the mention of Rishima.
Oh she knew him alright, and would never forget him. He was a powerful member of their tribe and someone she was hoping to see while returning to Aisha, it had been a while since their last sparring match and Maya was eager to test out her new strength now that she had returned to training after the long delay raising her daughter.
It was because of him Teiluj, her own daughter had found some happiness. Some joy in who she was. "I know who he is." Maya cut off rapidly her eyes turned slowly towards Aisha a hopeful expression took over her features. "Is he here?" Part of her hoped Rishima would be at the celebration, but a deeper part of her insisted that he wouldn't dare approach given all the frustrations between them right now. Her heart sank at that idea, perhaps she should have tried to find him and insisted he join her. Blushing a little Maya's head turned back to the girl.
Would there ever come a day when she was as well known as Rishima? Probably not, Maya surmised.

Ariya stopped to look at the bags on the ground. Why had she dropped them? Was it something she said? Perhaps this Alkidike was like her mother and the fact that a hybrid had helped her was shocking. However, the woman said she knew him and it made the young Alki smile faintly and nod her head. She hoped it was a good kind of know. When asked if he was here she gave a frown and a shake of her head. "No. At least, I've not seen him arrive yet, if he's coming." After answering she stepped closer then bent down to collect some of the things that had spilled out of Maya's pack. Ariya made sure to put them back in the bag as she gathered each one. "Part of me hopes he doesn't come since things with the extremists have heated up." She didn't want him to have to fight. "The other part wants to see him again." After all, he'd promised her that he would tell her about the world beyond the islands.

So she was right, Maya thought to herself, even though it would have been better if he had come. The boost in moral seeing that even he wasn't afraid to return to their mother. Realizing that the young Alkidike was picking up her things Maya took a step back. Bending her knees she lowered herself to the ground and joined in collecting her things. "I'm sure you will see Rishima again, he's powerful and strong, no way he's going to loose to anyone." Maya gave a small smile. "Including the extremists." Maya heard a strange sniffing behind her and looking back she caught Kakkara eying some dried meat. But unilke his younger days he held back, waiting for the signal that he could partake of the food that had rolled out in front of him. "Ok Kakkara, it's all yours. Teiluj wont have to know about it. Okay?" Kakkara snorted and dove to sink his teeth into the hunk of meat. "So you wanted to know more about him?" Maya asked as she put another item in her bag.

It made her grin to hear that Rishima wouldn't lose to anyone. Ariya nodded her head in agreement. She thought so too. If he was able to gain respect among the elders then surely he was strong enough to win against any foe. When the woman spoke to her familiar the young Alkidike looked over at it then chuckled when it went for the meat. Before she could comment something shiny in Maya's collection of things caught her attention. Her eyes went right to it and she was glued for a moment. Sadly it was an item that she had not gotten to pick up and see what it was. "Hn? Oh, yes. I asked him to tell me more about him and his friend when he came back to visit." Nothing wrong with admitting to her curiosity. Once all the things were picked up she stood and held her hand out to Maya to help her up. Mostly she just wanted an excuse to touch the woman. Her gentle beauty was like camouflage to the warrior Ariya knew was in there. All Alkidikes were warriors. "I'm Ariya, by the way."

Maya was completely oblivious of where Ariya's attention was. "I assume he would have much to tell you if you would listen. He has seen alot, much more than I have." Maya nodded slowly pushing up to standing before realizing Ariya was holding out her hand. "Oh sorry, I'm not used to so much attention from another sister. From the way you speak you don't seem like one of the extremists. It's refreshing." Leaning forward to brush the sand off her knees. Maya's eyes watched Ayira from below her lashes. The young sister was interesting, and it was a little uplifting to have someone so interested in a hybrid. Realizing she had not introduced herself Maya flushed a little and stood strait up before glancing back at Kakkara. A smirk alight on her face. "I apologize for my rudeness sister, I am Maya that is my companion mount Kakkara." She gave a shout in common at the Janarim before turning back to Ayira. "I'm hungry if you wish to speak more. Lets see if we can't find something delicious to eat in the market." Moving past Ariya towards the oban born creature patting his head before climbing on. Giving him a motion to move Maya gave a motion with her head towards the markets direction. "If I remember there is a stall with the most delicious sea clam stew!"

There was a nod that passed as she was told that Rishima had seen a lot. Ariya had thought so as well. It seemed to be in the way he held himself. Her expression changed, however, when Maya mentioned the extremists. Giving a cringe she looked away, almost embarrassed. "My mother is an extremist and I admit that until I met Rishima I was likely going in that direction." Ariya gave a clearing of her throat. "I'm sorry." Her attention went back to Maya as the woman introduced herself and her creature. A smile lit her face. Maya~ The woman even had a pretty name. The mention of food had her nodding and she started to walk along beside the large beast toward the market. "I think it's still there actually."

Maya turned to look at Ariya when she confessed her standings. So Rishima had changed someone's view. He really was quite a powerful member of her tribe. One she was proud to know. "At least now you see the value of even the hybrids." Maya spoke clearly leaning back a little causing the Janarim to stop until Ariya could catch up. Then squeezing her thighs together in a signal to walk on. "That's a relief I haven't had a decent meal like that in ages." Maya didn't want to admit it but she was a terrible cook. And so had relied on her more favored items such as fruits and nuts to survive while in jauhar. Only eating meat once in a while to indulge her daughters preference in food. Giving a small chuckle Maya looked towards Aisha. Rishima had been the one to teach Teiluj how to fish when she was a youngling. Since then the young hybrid had done well to master the skill and had even learned how to make some interesting dishes because of it. "That is good to hear it's still there." The walk was slow as Kakkara paused every once in a while to pick up the dropped meat and chew some more. Forcing Maya off her mount and onto the ground. Despite the Janarims large stature it was still young and prone to games when bored. "Are the sisters calm at least?" Maya asked.

She nodded her head. She did see the value of them now. Ariya was surprised by how narrow minded she had been. Then again, given that her adoptive mother hated earthlings she never had a chance to learn otherwise. "Yes, I enjoyed talking with him and he respects Aisha so that makes it better." When Maya was forced down from her mount Ariya grinned and moved so that she would walk side by side with the woman. "I'm not the best cook, but maybe I can make you a good meal sometime?" It was something at least.
