It was a nice warm day, and Opalesce had badly needed out of the house. The others were driving her insane, and there was nothing to do besides watch tv. Luckily, they lived out of town, so there was plenty of woods and fields to walk in, and the river wasn't far off if she got hot. She started off into the woods a ways, then decided to turn down towards the river. She knew of a nice shallow spot where a boat dock was that had a nice stretch of beach to it. As she reached the river, she found a shady spot under a tree to sit under, and just relaxed, listening to the current flow lazily by.

The sun was beating down heavily already and it wasn't even noon yet. Terach was doing what he could to keep cool by staying in the neighboring shade of tall oak tree. His tail flicked to one side as if warning off an annoying fly. Which more or less was the case since his tiny little familiar was fluttering around just to annoy him. It's wasn't an easy relationship between the two, but at least the little guy kept things from getting too stale.
Terach had bent down to get a cool drink of water from the river, trying to keep himself hydrated before his bonded came back from whatever it was he was doing. Kanen was a child, but Terach had done what he could to keep the young man in line. And while they had been together for a few years, in that short amount of time (relatively compared to how long Terach had lived) they had become close.
His ears flicked when he heard a noise near the other side of the bank. He lifted his head, watching carefully until he saw the bright colored demoness come into view. He smiled softly, seeing perhaps the only other friend he had made since coming to this realm. He made a soft snort, trying to get her attention without having to yell over the moving water.

Opal heard what sounded like a...snort? Puzzled, she looked over and spotted Terach! With a small sigh of relief, she got back to her feet and walked over. "Hello, Terach!", she called as she approached him. "What are you two doing today?" She was glad to see her friend; she always enjoyed his company. Opal also had a small crush on the other elder, but she wouldn't ever admit that to him.

Terach smiled when he saw her come closer, lowering his head in her direction. To her question, he shrugged, "My bonded is off doing whatever things it is that he does. School, perhaps. Though I'm not certain. So he told us to stay out here, he didn't want us scaring the townspeople. Apparently it's one of those villages that haven't quite adapted to demons. Either that, or he's embarrassed.." He gave a shrug of his shoulder. It mattered very little to him. He still wasn't used to being referred to in such a way. In the world he came from he was very much not a demon, but in this world if you could summon it.. it made you one, or at least from what he had gathered. He swiveled his head around to look at her, "What about you? I'm not used to seeing you this far out."

Opal couldn't help but feel for her friend. Her bonded always took her out with her, but she knew a lot of people still weren't comfortable with them. "Oh, I was just tired of being in the house with the others. Too much arguing while our bonded is out. No one can ever agree on anything, although it's mostly just Lyme..." Opal let herself trail off as she realized she was beginning to babble. She always felt flustered around Terach, but today she felt more attracted than usual. Maybe it was just all of the nice warm weather, or the peacefulness of the river. Clearing her throat, she tried explaining again, "I,uh, just needed a break from everyone else", she mumbled a bit. GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF, she thought.

"Oh?" His head swiveled into a quizzical tilt. "What has he done to cause mischief today?" He still wasn't quite sure of all the different demons that lived with Opal, though from her statement he had assumed that this wasn't the first time this particular demon had caused trouble. As she tried the change the subject, his eyes kept a steady gaze on her. She seemed preoccupied, which wasn't something he was entirely used to coming from her. "Is there something on your mind?" He walked a little bit closer, his familiar still buzzing about in air.

Opal sighed in relief. "Oh, geez, what didn't he do? The doof is always getting himself into some kind of trouble. Yesterday he managed to get caught in the curtains, and no one could get him back out." She giggled a bit at the memory of the green demon being strung up int he curtains. Everyone else had just left him there for their bonded to free when she got home later that day. It had been quite peaceful until she got him down. Opal started at his second question, and didn't know what to say. Should she tell him she liked him? She blushed a bit and decided to be bold. "Why, actually, yes. Something is on my mind," she started. Taking a deep breath, she quickly said "you!" and then clammed up. Oh dear, oh dear, what exactly was she doing?

Hearing the explanation, Terach let out a laugh, it was't a small quiet laugh, but a hearty belly laugh. "I'm sure that was a sight!" He managed to get the rumble down to a soft chuckle. "I'm sure your home can be quite chaotic at times, though it must keep things interesting to say the least. Definitely beats being out here on your own, watching the birds." He squinted as he looked up at the sky. He didn't have any fault with his bonded for leaving him, in his own home world he spent many days out in the sunshine or under the trees. However, that didn't mean it didn't get lonely from time to time. To her statement, he blinked, looking down to view her. "I.. uhh.." He actually stuttered for a bit, not having expected that answer. "Umm... what about me?" He seemed a bit out of wits on what to say about it, not sure why such a beautiful demoness would even want to think about him. A flush painted his cheeks, though he tried desperately to rationalize it away.
