The sun was bright, high in the sky as Eije swung her swords with ease. She had taken yesterday off in a vain attempt to clean her sailscale, though Namidu had left her filthier than he was. Now, looking quite self-satisfied, he stayed a fair distance away from her.

So today was left for training and strengthening herself. The morning had been cool, but it was quickly warming to the point where she had removed her furs, each thrust of the swords smooth and well-rehearsed. Maybe she wasn’t training in the most efficient manner, but it made her feel as though she was improving in some way. She never had a formal training session, her father died long before she could handle swords well enough, but holding his swords made her feel like she was doing something right.

With another thrust, she quickly sheathed the swords in a quick movement. Maybe she should find a sparring partner.

Attentiveness was probably something to work on, she realized as the sound of a fall broke her concentration. She quickly turned, hand back to the grip of one of her blades, but she did catch a glimpse of the girl flattened for a brief few moments. Her hand released, but before Eije could offer said hand in assistance, the leaf girl was on her feet with a smile. Well, that was interesting. “You didn’t interrupt, though are you alright?” It was a decent fall, though she brushed it off pretty well.

She took the leaf earthling’s hand with a smile, “I’m Eije and that’s Namidu over there.” She gave a smile as she pointed over her shoulder in the general direction of the sailscale. Giving a nod, although she was a much bigger fan of blades, she could easily appreciate the workmanship of a broadsword. “That’s quite the impressive sword, it’s not a wonder you heard me. Though I'm sorry if I interrupted you at all.” The sound was unmistakable, that much she knew. As a child, it was nearly a siren’s call.

“As long as you’re okay.” Betoto’s smile was contagious, leaving the ice girl with a grin on her face. “He’s something special, that’s for sure.” She could tell there was some hesitation in finding an appropriate descriptor, but Nami could tell that there was some form of a compliment as he looked up from cleaning his scales. The sailscale had been her first interaction with the species, so she found herself surprised when the wild ones weren’t as…vivid as he was. Probably why he was on the back market as a pup.

Eije nodded in agreement. Each sword was beautiful and unique in its own way. She had yet to see a sword much like Betoto’s; it seemed like the citizens of Zena liked the dual blades more than the long sword, so seeing a piece of art like the leaf girl was holding was something. “Thank you, that means a lot.” She had kept the swords in mint condition, sure to clean and work with them as they deserved so the compliment made her swell with pride. “Would you mind if I stuck around your practice? Perhaps even joined you? I’ve needed a sparring partner for quite some time.”

Eije returned the smile, her eagerness swelling, “Then I would love to be your first sparring partner, you’ll be mine too.” By ‘quite some time,’ she pretty much meant ‘since she received the swords'. Her father died before she was old enough to begin training, so she was heavily self-taught. A real instructor would probably die from some of her technique, but so far, it had worked for her. “I’m ready, here I come~”

Sliding her foot back, she moved into a starting position, pushing off and coming towards the other female with a smile and a fair bit of speed.
