Plot
Ruth heard the rumors and the announcement and saw the posters and the committees. It was time for Prom. She remembered last year's prom, she remembered enjoying herself, lurking among the shadows while watching far more interesting creeple go about their dates.
There was no way she was going to miss this year's prom! But there were... complications. She eyed the draft of her progress report, face a careful neutral even though inside she was a bundle of nerves. The Violet would not ever consider attending Prom without a date.
Except there would be no one to ask her to Prom, Ruth had seen to that. But that wasn't an issue. What she really needed, what she truly needed to work on? Involved a certain Wight and a certain Flame demon.
She'd paced a good deal in her room, so much so that she wouldn't have been surprised to find a groove had been worn in the floor. Well, alright she would have been surprised but that was only because she made sure to tread lightly. Leaving any sort of tracks would involve hyperbole taken literally, or made the school's dorm construction questionable. Eventually, she settled on a plan.
An evil little grin flashed across her face as she set to work on Phase 1.

Phase 1
It wasn't unusual to find students of differing races in a dormitory. It wasn't as if security in the student rooms was exceptionally tight. After all, if an undead can wind up in the reaper dorm, why couldn't it be the other way around? Besides, Ruth made sure to move as silently and as inconspicuously as possible. Mostly out of habit.
When she reached her destination, the blonde slid a note under the door, gave a knock, and quickly darted away.chirigami Written on the note, in a handwriting that looks similar to Andrew'sProm. With me?

[ plot ]
Olivia was completely unaware to any sort of plots in her direction, but a little exposition never hurt. What she had noticed, however, were those same posters advertising a certain event that happened once a year. The Wight very much enjoyed looking at things hanging on the walls, especially if they were colorful and announced fun activities. And this one she knew could be just that, having attended a few before. (Amity always provided fun things to do... and honestly the ghoul was very easy to please).
No further actions seemed to be taken after the day she noticed the posters upon the wall. No planning, no plots, no dress shopping or pondering who would take her. Barely a thought even. Olivia simply went about her day, spent a few hours in the quad and listened to the other students gush about the news.

[ phase 1 ]
The first one to get to the note was not the intended victim. Instead, as the note slid from under the door and into the ghoul's room, a few beady little eyes took notice of it first and descended. The few of many blue grumpkins began batting and playing with the paper, ripping it in a few corners and leaving a little bit of drool. They were, thankfully for Ruth before her whole plan went to shreds, stopped once the blue Otokoyo made her way over and swatted them away. She took one sniff at it.
And then left it there.
It wasn't until a few hours later that Olivia would find the note, under foot once she stepped inside her dorm and stared at the new addition to the room. It received a good long stare, a few read overs and a slight head tilt. As observant as she often was, knowing her friends' handwriting from one another was not one her talents. So, the author of the note was left to speculation (in the back of her mind, though, she was kind of ruling out Molan....)
Who could it be, she wondered. There were so many possibilities!huni pi bah, wanted to write another one but I need to get ready for work xD

Phase 1
Ruth was not as subtle as she liked to think she was. It may have stemmed from the innate ability to simply just be in the background, but that was more of a Paranoia Agent thing than being Ruth. But all the same, she made an effort to apply the same amount of inconspicuousness in her little scheme. She was carefully skirting along the hallways and corridors before she spotted Olivia.
The blonde promptly but quietly ripped a prom poster off the wall. Tilting her head down to give the impression she was carefully scrutinizing the advertisement, Ruth slowly started to shuffle around the corner with well-practiced nonchalance.chirigami Feel free to make as many replies as you want XD or even make a prompt of your own!

[phase two]Andrew spotted yet another of the many many fliers. Prom fliers. They just seemed to curse him, reminding him that he as of yet did not have a ghoul friend. Not that he cared. He didn't. He didn't want someone tying him down at this point. But mostly it put on bad memories of things that had happened. Things he had promised himself he would not care about anymore. He had been off training, and the prom reminded him of awkward dancing and glass orbs. He stared at the flier and then lifted a hand letting his flames casually burn that sucker right up. He would not be going because reasons.

Phase 2
With Phase 1 underway, Ruth knew she had to work on Phase 2 immediately. And it so happened that Phase 2 involved a certain flame demon. Speak of the devil, she peered around a corner and spied the familiar figure of her so-called boss. She didn't quite catch what it was he'd just set alight but that didn't matter to the blonde.
She had an armful of Prom fliers, though some of them were trying to fly right back out of her grasp. (Well they're fly-ers after all.) The reaper kept a firm hold and accidentally on purpose ran into Andrew with a silent squeak. She allowed some of the sheets to fly free and tried her best to make a grab for them.

Grumpy FireSomething... no someone ran into him. He looked down fire still on his finger tips when he realized who ran into him. His little minion.Hhello minion. He reached out and grabbed some of the fliers and looked at one... No no nope. The one in his hand turned to dust an instant later. "Blondie... Prom is pretty stupid." For a second he realized he could... potentially go with Blondie. She was a good ghoul, or at least she wasn't terrified of him. She was here. And she probably didn't have a date. But the idea of going to prom with not Olivia bothered him. Another flier turned to dust instead of him speaking his thoughts.

Grumpy Fire
Had Ruth the ability to read minds she would have, quite frankly, been horrified at the prospect of attending prom with Andrew. Not that attending prom with Andrew was a bad thing but she was not Olivia. And Ruth was adamant about Andrew attending prom with Olivia. But as she was not a mind reader that wouldn't be a problem.
(Also how dare u, Andrew, for assuming she didn't have a date! Just because it was true doesn't mean it didn't merit a how dare u.)
However, she could hear and see. And when her boss-man burnt a flier and flatly told her his opinion of Prom, Ruth had to bolster her confidence in pushing through with her plan. With her eyes obscured by her bangs, all she could do to show her... sadness was the trembling of her lower lip and the vehement shaking of her head. She clutched the remaining flyers protectively to her.

Phase 1
When Ruth believed she had sufficient time to establish she'd been totally engrossed with the poster about Prom, she meekly started shuffling around the corner. Then she "spotted" Olivia and broke into a happy grin before silently padding up to the Wight while waving the poster.

No Tears!Wait was she crying? Andrew waved his hands about. "Oh stop that! No no none of that wet stuff. Gross." He shuffled around and pulled a hanky from his pocket and offered it to her. "Alright fine I won't burn the fliers... What's the matter do you not have a date?" He could only assume that that was the reason she was crying.

Phase 2 - Mayday
Ruth made certain to allow a few audible sniffles before she hesitantly accepted the hanky. She tried to look indignant, but it only made her look like she was just trying to stop crying and failing. Then she shook her head, which abruptly turned into a nod before she went back to shaking her head again.
Jack damn it, how was she supposed to approach this predicament? She pointed to Andrew, then to the poster, then drew a question mark in the air.

phase 2 disaster incoming "Are you asking me if I have a date? The answer is no. Obviously. What do you need one?" her earlier indignant look was completely misread. But he had an amused look on his face as he leaned in and put a wing on top of her head, much like a boy putting an arm on top of a younger play mate. "Are you looking for a date?" He was thinking he could offer. He would offer for her. It would at least give him something to do that night.

Phase 2 - You're not the troll here, Andrew
Ruth puffed up her cheeks, her face going red on cue as she tried to push his wing off her head. Actually all that was missing was her stamping a foot at him but that was a little too childish for the Violet to consider appropriate. She shook her head again before turning on her heels and marching away.
She hadn't gone a few steps before glancing over her shoulder back at him expectantly. And to make sure they were both (relatively) on the same page, she gestured for him to follow.

phase 2 - followingHis wing dropped with a deflated sigh. The wings drooped and he stood hands sliding into his pockets as he chewed on his lip. Had he pissed her off? No she wanted him to follow. Andrew sighed and let his feet follow her, the res to him leaning back a bit as he slouched along. He didn't plan to ask her anymore. The moment was ruined and he really didn't want to go anyway. But he guessed he would help if she wanted it.
