Hobbies:
Reading: The love of literature is what got Karone through all of her schooling, and even led her into her career, allowing the chance for her to instill the love of literature to young minds, perhaps inspiring them as she was inspired. Reading leads to new worlds that you can’t access on a daily basis, so clearly it is a treat and one of the best things in the world to do. She ended up getting a two bedroom apartment just so she’d have enough room for all of her books.
Yoga: After the stress of dealing with highschool girls, the excuses and the talking and the gossip…something just has to be done to relax. Karone started yoga back when she was in University as a way to de-stress after tests and work and just everything, but she never seemed to be able to stop, so now first thing in the morning, five am, she is on her yoga mat, getting ready for the day ahead, and back on the mat before bed, ready to sleep through the night. She finds the whole thing terribly wonderful, and gabs about it to whoever decides they want to listen.
Hiking: Summertime is one of Karone’s favorite times of the year, if only because summer means a long, long break from school…and that means traveling, and traveling means hhiking, and there is nothing better than finding a trail, spending a few hours walking that trail, and being able to rest at the end with a good book and just…nature. Nature-ing is her favorite, and she is starting to wonder if she wasn’t a tree in a past life.
Virtues:
Confident: It is rather difficult to deal with teenagers every day and not gain a level of unshakable confidence. In Karone’s opinion, children and teenagers are the worst for tearing you down, as they never seem to have a filter…so hell, she can do anything. Bring it on, life. Nothing can rattle her. Unless it’s spiders. Spiders can totally rattle her. They are the true terrors of the world, and she is not confident in her ability to survive in a house with them, but that is totally another story.
Tolerant: Late assignments, talking in class, people sleeping in class…those awful phone calls from her mom asking why there were no grandchildren yet…Karone can take large amounts of s**t, and keep herself cool and collected. It takes a lot, a whole, whole lot to ruffle her feathers, and she is quite proud of her ability to keep cool and level headed. It is a learned skill, and it took quite a long time to perfect, but hey. Started from the bottom, now she’s here. There you go.
Nurturing: Karone was always destined to be around children, she knew she wanted some from the time she was young, she just wanted a family to help take care of and someone to help grow. Well, now every year she has all the kids she can deal with, and she loves it. She is always there for them, even if they have already graduated. She is someone who is easy to talk to, and she just cares. She wants you to be the best you.
Flaws:
Envious: There is never a way to be perfect. NO matter how perfect that Karone figures that her life is, something is always better. The grass is always greener on the other side, no matter if it’s a real side, like someone getting a massive raise, doing something completely different than what she does, or if it’s something in a book that she just doesn’t have…it’s not that she’s not happy with other people’s success…she just doesn’t like it when she doesn’t do the same, or better than them.
Bitter: It might take a long time to get Karone riled up, but once you do. That’s it. That’s your last chance, there are no take backs. She holds a mean grudge and she holds it until the end of time, so if you ******** up too badly, that’s it pal. Buh bye. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been friends for the past fifteen years, there’s no coming back from it.
Calculating: If there’s one thing that books have really taught Karone…it’s the fact that there is always a winning side and a losing side. Honestly, it’s a pain in the neck, but Karone choses the winning side, no matter what…no matter who she has to step on or what she has to do to get there. If it is a promotion at work and in order to get on the good side of her superiors, she will of course throw that other team member under the bus. Life sucks, and in order to win, you
have to play the game. And win. No matter what.
