The Fire Field: A series of thick rock pillars, all different sizes of height, reach towards the stadium ceiling from a pool of hot lava. While there is a fire-proof net far below to catch any pokemon that falls off the platforms, the rock pillars themselves are hot to the touch. They can cause burns if your pokemon stand still for a set period of time. The air around the field is very heavy from the extreme heat. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FIRE type attacks. This field reduces ICE and WATER type attacks by 25 HP

Zak waited for his challenger at his end of the field. Zue, the crobat and the pokemon he would be using in this battle was on his head like usual. The bat was quite heavy but his neck was used to the pokemon flopping there.
"Zue, you are up." he told the bat. In that same instant the crobat left his head and took its place above the field of fire.

"Okay, Shadow, do your best!" Zin told the mew with a grin. Shadow merely nodded as she drifted into her place on the field. The teenager grasped the rails of the trainer's podium eagerly. She was finally challenging a gym again; this was the moment that all of her training had been leading up to!

"Zue, lets start off with a Confuse Ray." Zak called out to start. Starting off with his signature status. Now to hope for it to work well.
Zue gave a soft screech before sending a ray of light at the Mew.

Before she could blink, the mew was temporarily blinded by the confuse ray. Her vision remained cloudy and out of focus. Zinnia knew that the mew wouldn't be able to fight in that condition, so she commanded, "Heal Bell!" Shadow tried to focus her psychic powers to clear her mind of confusion. Well that wasn't going to work, as long as the mew knew Heal Bell it seemed Status attacks were out of the question. If only confusion worked properly but it was a bit fickle. "Zue, Bite" He called out. If it didn't damage itself might as well start off with some damaging moves.
The crobat swept in, fangs ready to bite down upon the mew.

Shadow flinched and backed away from the crobat's sharp fangs. She concentrated her telekinesis to break apart one of the stone pillars in the fire field. She then sent those boulders hurtling toward Zue.

Zue was hit with the attack but wasn't down for the count. "Zue use Leech Life and Heal yourself a bit" he called out.
This time the bat moved down upon the Mew, aiming to sink his teeth into the mew and suck the life out of it and use it as his own.

The next bite truly hurt. Shadow shuddered as some of her energy was drained away, but she managed to escape the crobat at last.
"Hang in there! Stone Edge!" Zin called.
Shadow broke another piece of a pillar apart and sent the rocks toward Zue.

It seemed like their last move did quite a bit. Maybe now Zue would be quite even with the Mew. But only the battle would tell. "Alright Leech Life once more, keep draining it. It seems to be working."
Being hit with the stones he stumbled back in the sky only to attack once more with vigor. The last drain had given him quite a bit of energy back.

Shadow was eager to avoid the crobat's fangs, so she managed to teleport out of the way before he got her a third time.
With their opponent using a life-draining attack, Zinnia knew that she had better change tactics. "Shadow, Ice Beam!" she called.
The mew lifted a paw, sending a beam of freezing blue light toward Zue.

Zue dodged the attack gliding out of the way of the beam of Ice.

Once more the bat spiraled down towards the mew itching to sink his teeth in her once again.

The ice hit his wing causing him to tumble downward. Unable to attack all he could hope is that he thawed before hitting the ground below.
