Hey everyone! So, I need a distraction from real life as there's a fair bit going on right now. I thought I'd DM a game on here for you guys if you're interested. I've gotten a little practice now and I think (hope) I've gotten half decent at it. I have a fair few ideas, though no fully scripted ones yet. If enough people are interested (preferably at least 3, hopefully more) I'll post the ideas and you can vote on which one you like best. I'll write the campaign proper and then we can begin.

Jo-kun!! >: D What's up?!? We haven't seen you in ages!!

That'd be awesome. I think Javon would love that, considering he's the one usually dming, and not actually able to play. c:

Hey Steffy-chan! Lots is what's up, I posted in the randomness thread a couple of days ago, but I think it got burried, heh.

Basically, long story short, I'm now a homeowner and I'm getting married next year. I somehow still have hair razz

Edit: Just noticed you replied in there haha. I'm not a great noticer apparently razz

XD lol. Well, I didn't read the Randomness one first, so it's not your fault.

Back to the subject of D&D here....I've been wanting to dm a bit myself, but I just need to think of a good plot and whatnot. XP So you dming would be good for a start.

EDIT: I know I said it before, but I'm saying it again... Congratulations on your engagement and home ownership! > w<

Sure, I'd be done for it. (Maybe a dual DM with the two of you at some point? No idea.) What kind of campaign were you thinking?
PostPosted: Wed Jun 10, 2015 3:05 pm

Sounds good to me. We could either do a dual DM thing or we could run two parallel campaigns (possibly set in the same world) and I could help with yours and vice versa.

I have a few ideas in mind for campaigns. They're all home few settings so we can use D&D 3.5 or Pathfinder for the fantasy ones with little alteration. I also have a few D20 Future ideas.

I'd interested as well. More so in D20 Future than 3.5.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 11, 2015 9:13 pm

These are the campaign concept ideas I've thought up for the campaign. Most of them are just at a thought stage and I have yet to actually write anything for the campaign just yet.

D20 Future campaign concepts
Quick PL explanation. PL5 is the modern era and each PL beyond this represents a leap in scientific and technological advances. PL9 is the maximum and represents an advance so far, that we may as well perceive it as magic.
Mecha
PL 6 or 7
War. Mainly Large, boss Huge. Soldiers, backed with regular vehicles are common, but main threat to mechs is other mechs. Little to no aliens. Any that exist are of the mysterious sort.

Tournament. Large. Mostly tournament fights, though some outside brawls may occur. Plot involves intrigue. Likely no aliens at all.

Space travel
PL 7 or 8
Solar. Bounty hunters. Realistic space travel augmented by jump gates. Travel outside the solar system is possible, but takes too much time to be viable. Little to no aliens. Any that exist are of the mysterious sort. Think Cowboy Bebop for a rough idea.

Space opera. Fantastic space travel. Combat mainly space-based, although planetary combat is likely. Plot can vary wildly. Aliens everywhere.

Earth-bound
PL 5 or 6
Invasion. Starts PL5 and progresses to PL6 over the course of the campaign. Think X-Com, though the plot will differ a fair bit from X-Com

Wasteland. Post-apocalyptic. PL 6, but limited resources. Little to no aliens. Players may choose to be a mutant, but must have at least one point of disadvantages more than advantages. Also, may not choose disadvantages that do not affect them, eg penalty to social skills when they do not plan on using them anyway.

Horror
PL below
Alien. PL7. Confined on a spaceship. Single, virtually unkillable enemy. Can only be driven off. Players start at a slightly higher level, but are hopelessly outmatched. Survive and solve puzzles to complete. Single module, but if popular, may do sequels.

The Thing. PL 5 or 6. Confined on station Single killable enemy, but can disguise and shapeshift. Creature may assume the form of any character not present, either as they are elsewhere or dead. Creature auto-kills off screen anyone who is caught unawares. Player is not informed until the discovery, one way or another. Kill the creature to win. Single module, but if popular, may do sequels.

Pathfinder/D&D 3.5 Campaign Concepts (You choose)
Standard campaign setting. Everything is as standard, though the campaign itself is homebrew. The idea in mind at the moment is a Linnorm hunt, though nothing is set.

Pirate cove. Standard setting, though on the high seas. Can be either pirates or imperial navy and hunt pirates. Expect lots of ship to ship combat and sea monsters.

Final Fantasy Inspired. Completely homebrewed setting, though using much of the mechanics of standard Pathfinder. Cannot choose standard classes, but must select from homebrew classes. One player per class. Low magic, yet still high fantasy. See FF VIII for a general feel of the campaign, but is still set in a similar world and time as the standard setting, eg guns are black powder muskets, etc. This one may need a lot of explanation of the rules before we begin, though I think I've covered everything that will come up in the mechanics write-up.

Hmm.. That Final Fantasy one, though... lol.

I'd be interested in the FF one or Space Travel one. Because SPACE! > w<

The space opera one is basically going to be a Star Wars/Star Trek-type campaign with a ridiculous amount of sci-fi glory. Mostly aliens and spaceships, but I see no reason not to include mecha in it as well. There won't be anywhere near as many as the dedicated mecha campaign, but then it wouldn't be a dedicated mecha campaign.

Also, I'm open to suggestions as well, since I don't actually have any storylines written yet.

I like the space opera one or the Final Fantasy one.

I wanna be a space elf! :3

Seems like everyone likes the Space Opera one so far smile

I'll leave it for another few days to see if anyone else joins in the discussion and the opinion swings.

Also, hi Xion-chan! *waves back frantically*

I have absolutely no idea! I did not track well on any of those. eheh. But I will play whatever. As I'm sure you would appreciate more active players.

An idea for a campaign I had was something akin to Monster Hunter. My idea was would be that the players would take on roles of hunter that would go out and fend off various large monsters that pose a threat to various villages. One of the problems with that would be it would more or less boil down to a string of boss fights against various monsters and would probably end up being a much higher level campaign than we usually run.
