Shadow flew into the stadium at her trainer's side. She silently took her place on the field while Zin threw a friendly wave in her opponent's direction.

Emalthya was a bit nervous at facing this silent, to her, trainer again. The one who inflicts status conditions. But a battle was a battle, and Pheonix wasn't scared. She looked up and him. He bent down to nudge her face as he always did before a battle, for good luck, and she kissed his cheek.
"Good luck out there."
Pheonix flew into the stadium and, as he was battling a flying pokemon, he did not land, but hung in the air, waiting and watchful.
Emalthya waved at Zin. "Good luck!" she called to the trainer. Emalthya might have been antisocial, but she wasn't mean.

Ah, our attack first, thought Emalthya. Well, it's a mew, so ground types are useless- wait, no mew is only psychic, not flying, so it will work, just have to be careful. It's very small and fast, while we're as fast or faster, it has faster maneuverability and we just can't turn as fast. That leaves Heat wave.
"Pheonix, use heat wave!" she called. She may not have been a brilliant tactician, but she did give everything thought.
Pheonix drew in a breath and expelled a wall of flame and singing heat.

"Dodge it, Shadow!" said Zin. The mew teleported out of the way of the blast of heat, escaping unscathed. "Now, Stone Edge!" the pigtailed trainer commanded. ((Wooow this is going to be a quick battle))
The spears of rock hit Pheonix with bone-shaking force. He was hit in the legs, chest, and one wing. He only avoided a blow to his head by twisting his neck away at the last moment. He began to fall.
Emalthya cried out in horror. "Shut your hurt wing, Pheonix! Shut it! Spiral down!"
Pheonix recognised the high sound and obeyed, folding his bruised wing close, ignoring the pulse of protest from it. His descent accelerated and, as Emalthya had said, he let himself spiral down for a gentler landing, though it was still a crash. His bad leg buckled and he knelt on the stadium ground.
Physical attacks are out of the question so soon after a critical hit, thought Emalthya quickly. That leaves Solar Beam and Heat Wave, Heat Wave is probably too much to ask for right now, so it's Solar Beam; it's more passive.
"Pheonix, use Solar Beam! We won't go down without a hit!"
Pheonix looked upwards at Shadow and let loose a solar beam blast. The shock was wearing off, now, but he stayed on the ground. It was doubtful he could fly again so soon, and that was fine. He could battle on the ground.

((Haha, sorry. You should be at 600 HP, by the way... since charizard is 4x weak to rock. 200 base damage x 2 for critical hit = 400 total damage.))
Shadow winced as she was seared by the solar beam. She quickly retaliated by sending more rocks flying.

Pheonix saw the rocks coming and blanched. He couldn't fly to escape them, he couldn't run- but maybe...
"Hide beneath the stones from the last attack, Pheonix!" called Emalthya.
Pheonix obeyed, sheltering under the rocks that had pummelled him so recently, protecting him from a second strike. However, the impacts of the new attack shook the rocks from the first and they shifted around him, blocking his way out, trapping him in his own shelter.
"Use earthquake to get out," instructed Emalthya.
Pheonix stomped and smashed his tail against the stadium floor to shake the rocks loose, creating cracks for them to fall into. The cracks and fissures shot the rocks back into the air as they opened to receive them, then closed with the serial shockwaves of the earthquake attack. Normally Pheonix would cause one rumbling, devastating blow with his earthquake attack, but as his leg was hurt, he could not stomp with his full force in one blow.

Shadow winced as she herself was pelted with pebbles, still, she did not let that deter her as she used Stone Edge again.

Hit by yet more rocks, Pheonix was feeling a bit punch drunk.
"Heat wave, Pheonix!"
Pheonix aimed a rolling heat wave into the air, suffusing the entire stadium.

Shadow was nearly knocked out of the air from the blast of heat, but she managed to catch herself in time. She panted lightly, the heat finally breaking her smooth composure. She recovered quickly, however, and sent another cascade of rocks toward the charizard.

Pheonix was clipped in the jaw by a flying rock and blacked out. He fell through the air on a sled of descending rocks from Shadow's Stone Edge attack and hit the stadium floor in a burst of rubble.
Having been knocked out so heavily, it was not until Emalthya touched his chest with the yellow crystalised revive, something they both imagined was some kind of solidified adrenaline (especially because, when used, the revive causes heart palpitations, disorientation, restless limbs, and, rarely, vomiting), that Pheonix regained consciousness.
"Congratulations," called Emalthya to Zin. If she had been a larger person, she would have helped Pheonix to his feet, but all she could do was watch him scratch and claw himself upright.
"Let's go heal you up," she said brightly.
