The trip to Sauti had been long and ... memorable to say the least. He was surprised he'd even gotten Zuberi to 'allow' him to have this day to himself. It might have been a mistake to bring the Oban along... but it was the benefit of protection without needing to pay a thing. L'lhynd would put up with much more if it meant saving that much money. Kdal was an added benefit too, serving as protection and a buffer between him and Zuberi. Not that L'lhynd couldn't handle the Oban by himself.

So far Sauti had proven to be... a disappointment. L'lhynd would find what he was looking for eventually though... inspiration for his clothing designs. He'd walked some ways from Zu and Kdal, the pond he'd arrived at by chance a welcome site. It was pleasant, quiet.

Eije couldn't quite place the appeal of Sauti as she travelled. It was somehow less hospitable than the ice-peaked mountains she had previously called home, though the weather was cool and the wildlife was diverse. It had been a pretty interesting adventure, nonetheless. She had found sailscales to visit for Namidu, though she wasn't really one for taming. So visits would have to suffice, as would a break.

For a neighboring land, it was almost too quiet. Although she didn't want to fall in the lull of nomadic life, she did need to figure out how to clean up. Ponds dotted the land, though she didn't happen to see the other person along the edge as she sat her things down. Slipping off her boots, she sat at the water's edge, watching a small batch of menks slip deeper into the water as her toes touched the surface. "Namidu, what do you think of Sauti?"

He figured he could bring his Quhar her later in the day, as long as they didn't decide already to move on from their camp. He wondered if maybe he should head back to said camp when he spied another now at the water's edge. Mostly his concern came from spying her taking off her boots… his mind instantly jumping to the thought that more would follow the boots and it wasn't something he particularly wanted to see. But she didn't move to pull anything else off and L'lhynd relaxed.

When she spoke his eyes shifted until he spotted what must have been Namidu. He shifted and stood, fully intending to go, but as he took a step backwards he felt something snap under his foot even before the loud crack of the wood registered in his mind. He froze, as though maybe this would stop the other from seeing him.

He was being ridiculous, really. He had nothing to feel guilty for, he wasn't watching her really… though he was sort of sneaking away. He brought his foot off the broken twig and relaxed his shoulders, looking up again to meet the female's eyes before he pushed a smile onto his face. "I know you weren't asking me, but I find I'm not particularly fond of it…"

Namidu turned at the snap, giving a soft squawk at the sound with Eije following the motion just behind. She had to blink a few moments, not sure of what to make of the other earthling. Though he had blue skin as she did, it was different. Not to mention he had rather fish-like qualities; he must have been a water earthling. She had never seen one up close, but she didn’t want to stare too long.

Though she was curious, from the few moments before he spoke, it seemed like he was heading off. But she returned the smile as she turned herself towards him, pulling away from the water’s edge. “Sorry, didn’t mean to disturb you. But why do you say that?” The weather wasn’t too bad, even though she was used to the chill of Zena. Maybe he didn’t adjust well?

L'lhynd still was surprised at how similar he found ice earthlings to be to his kind. Mostly it was their ears that gave them away.. and their crystals. Their coloring was very similar though, L'lhynd had noticed on many occasions. But what was more interesting than that was their clothing. Right now, for instance, he was eyeing her cowl. Jacket? He wasn't sure, except that he wanted to take a closer look at it.And the fur trimming her outfit, what kind was it?

"Even though I'm not particularly fond of crowds... the wind tribes certainly are spread few and far between." Maybe he should explain a little more than that? "I came here hoping to studying their clothing... but it's a hard thing to do when you can't see many earthlings and the ones you do see are... wary at best." Like he was one to talk though... it wasn't as though he was trying to make friends. He didn't really enjoy talking to others, except about fashion.
