::Iwatodai::::Supernatural Hotbed:: Iwatodai...the modern, urban city caught in the midst of the Supernatural Hotbed...a place with so much political and economic influence that defense of this city became a priority to those few with the knowledge to begin defense against the oncoming storm...together with Inaba, Okina City, Tokyo, and the Oshu Region, these last few cities are the last defense of mankind against an unstoppable invasion. The world is coming to a crisis...and only you can save it! You are one of the few survivors of what is currently being called 'The Catastrophe', and now you're standing smack in the middle of a town filled with demons who want nothing more than to tear you to pieces, humans who are slowly losing their sanity, and even worse things beyond that! Your only mission is to survive...and if possible, defeat the threat inherent behind it all! ...And also available to those of you who are ambitious and seek to demonstrate your strength in this messed up apocalypse, is a goal to wrack up a high score! You are a Devil Survivor! Your other powers are muted due to the swiftly deteriorating state of the world and its magic, and only the devils within your Summoning App are available to you as defense against the oncoming storm!
Though you're trapped in the city, you have means available to you to obtain even stronger weapons against the foes you will face! One of these means is a Demon Auction and a Cathedral of Shadows, through which you can win and fuse stronger demons to use against your foes! Based upon your performance throughout the event, stronger demons and fusions may be available to you...so the longer you survive, the more success you have, the better your odds of winning a great prize and surviving 'til the end will become! --------------------------- Roll/Event Guide- Every turn, you will roll a die 1-10000. Depending on your roll, your character may achieve one of several results...
-If you roll a 1, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000, or 10000, you will defeat one of the primary enemies of the event...a Septentrione! You will receive [50 Tokens] for this feat and a [Septentrione Prize]! This will advance the event to the next stage...until all major enemies are defeated!
-If you roll 2-999, you survive your post!
-If you roll 1001-1999 a member of another Faction ambushes you! You fend them off and retreat temporarily! Choose: [Win 7 Tokens but your lowest level demon dies.], or [Sacrifice 5 Tokens and your highest level demon gains 2 levels].
-If you roll 2001-2999, 3001-3999 you successfully win an encounter with demons or members of another faction! This will allow you to gain a [Token]! Tokens can be spent on rewards once you have enough...
-If you roll 4001-4999, 5001-5999 you will win a difficult battle against a massive horde of demons. This will earn you [5 Tokens]!
-If you roll 6001-6999 you will defeat Special-Encounter Demon [7 Tokens + Automatically draw a demon 3 Levels above your current level].
-If you roll 7001-7999, you may MAX Fate Link with another character, canon or PC, that you have interacted with. Receive 10 Tokens - Freely fuse two demons you control.
-If you roll 8001-8500, you may win a major encounter with a group of Rogue App-Users and Rioters. This will grant you [10 Tokens]!
-Alternatively, if you roll 8001-8500 you may opt to [Appeal to Trumpeter] to play his horn and cancel Benetnasch's ability to dismiss demons. Instead of 10, receive [11 Tokens].
-If you roll 8501-8999, you complete a mission in which you court or are possessed by a devil under the orders of JPs to defeat a terrifying foe. You earn [10 Tokens] for this mission, and obtain a [Special Demon] for your Summoning App!
-If you roll 9001-9999, are killed in an encounter with a Septentrione. This is [Game Over] and your character is removed from the event.
-You may redeem Tokens for various perks, listed below.Quote: Token Guide- 10 Tokens: Win a new demon from an auction! Demon must be within 3 Levels of your own. -15 Tokens: Fuse two demons you own together! [Create a demon 5 Levels above your own.] Guide. -Random: At occasional points, auctions may be held in the OoC or the Guild Skype Chat! You will be able to bid as many Tokens as your character has in order to win the devils/items available in this auction. -25 Tokens: In the event of a [Game Over], you may redeem 25 Tokens in order to remain in the game. You must have at least 25 Tokens to use this Revival. -25 Tokens: In the event of a friend's [Game Over], you may redeem 25 Tokens to see a Nicaea Video of their Death and prevent it, allowing them to reenter the game. Knuckles cracked, and Seika relaxed her guard. Some idiot had tried taking advantage of her... as if the tattoo hadn't been enough warning not to mess with her. She nodded her thanks to the demon and turned around...continuing on her way.

 Colm Watanabi "Heeey! What are you doing out here in the middle of town! There are demons everywhere! " Oh what luck~! Colm thought he was all by his lonesome with a creepy little ghost demon and here came quite the looker! Though before he could lay on the charm, she kept talking. "You should get to a shelter somewhere and let me cover for you...or if you're looking for your family in another town, hurry up and use the terminal before it's overrun! And...hey, why do I feel like there's someone watching us right now...well, anyway, be safe!" All the green locked man could do was watch as the woman ran off, silently crying on the inside for not getting a chance to even get her name. "But someone watching us..? I hope it's not my 'warden'. I better hop on that terminal." Quote: Colm met Hinako! Acquired 10 tokens! Colm boarded the Terminal to Inaba!

 "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."His breath was heavy, and he was fairly sure he was bleeding from his temple...but the blood that dripped from his knuckles was thicker. Not to mention black. All about him the bodies of devils that had been threatening to invade a shelter for disenfranchised citizens were strewn, and his little Poltergeist friend dissipated with a cheerful wave. A disaster had been averted. His smile was faint, but he knew the work was far from finished.

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Yesterday hadn't begun to do justice to what the second day would bring...a horde far larger than the one he had defeated the day before had forced he and his little companion to flee into a nearby convenience store and take temporary shelter within. Idly, he seemed to recall something about this exact shop from some event he couldn't quite remember...something to do with Weston? Colm? Nearby, he knew, was the sidewalk where he had first met Seika, however, and that was a memory that he held close. To be accepted, to be cared for and not rejected for his mistakes, those were precious feelings so few had afforded to him...he knew he needed to find his red-haired companion before things got too thick into the chaos.
"Aa...are they gone?" he asked calmly from behind a shelf where the shop's owner also waited silently, only to get the thumbs up at last from the Poltergeist and stand to stretch their legs, "Be safe..." "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."The attack was sudden, but he had managed to get out of it unscathed somehow. A wild Gagyson had leaped out of an alley near the convenient store and taken a swipe at him with its deadly claws, but a timely counter from the self-trained boxer had sent the bird-devil stumbling backward. Wasting no time, Poltergeist jumped in with a Zan that stumbled it via a strike to the weakness...from there, Hatsu wasn't about to let up on the attack until he had finished the job. He had barely broken a sweat, but just a moment later in reacting or an inch closer on those claws and it could have been him splayed out on the ground bleeding, reduced to little but lifeforce swiftly fading away.
"Iwatodai is in danger," he muttered to himself quietly, searching for a reason why all of this was happening and wondering if the yellow-uniformed men running around now were in some way involved. JPs was what was on their jacket...they had to have something to do with this since he'd never seen them before, right? He figured as much, but still...only way to find out was to ask one. "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."As he followed the member of the yellow-clad outfit towards one of the nearby shelters, he was surprised to see a group of citizens clutching their phones and smirking at the officers as though they were satisfied about something in particular. One chuckled as he stepped forward and patted his palm with the business end of a blackjack club, causing the JPs men to back away from the ambush of superior numbers and weaponry. "You thought you guys could just hoard all the food and supplies and get away with it, huh JPs dog?" the rioter growled through his haughty smirk, raising the club as the officers tried to reason, "It's not like that at all! JPs is helping the people! We're trying to save the city from the demons! We need all the supplies we can get so we can keep fighting!"
"SHUT UP!" one rioter shouted as he lashed out and cracked the JPs member in the shoulder with his baseball bat, knocking him to the ground where the other covered for him...Hatsu knew at that moment that things were about to get out of hand and made ready to jump in, "My daughter was injured in a collapsed building after the Earthquake yesterday...and because the shelter we were at didn't have enough medical supplies, she DIED! And you want me to just let it slide that you guys have so much?! HUH?!" It was a sad story...but that didn't justify killing these guys, did it? Hatsu wavered...but as the man wound up to attack again and do something he might really regret later, the college student knew it was time to act.
He leaped into the fray and fought away the rioters, bruised...bloody in a few places...but successful without having to kill anyone. He couldn't bring back the man's daughter...but at least he had kept him from becoming a murderer. But still, if JPs had supplies and wouldn't share them with others...
He extended his hand to the injured officer clad in yellow and asked the question he had to have an answer to...
"Why does JPs get all of the supplies while the citizens suffer?" he asked, voice neutral as he could keep it in the face of such potential injustice, "Aa...please...I need to know...what is JPs really like?" Quote: Demon - Poltergeist 15 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."In the end, they had told him all that they could...but in return, they had asked that he see to securing the perimeter of a shelter that had nearly been overrun by rioters and devils alike. It would have been their job, but the first whose shoulder had been stricken definitely suffered a broken collarbone and needed to be gently moved back to the base for healing. And so it was that Hatsu found himself acting in the service of JPs, temporarily at least, but the bad taste in his mouth at the idea that the leader of JPs didn't seem to care about the average person and that whatever their reasons...they were hoarding supplies from the common people...had placed there. It didn't seem right, did it? Placing some over others...prioritizing life...everyone had a right to live.
"Aa...I'm sorry..." he bit out as he countered an app-abuser's attack and crashed his fist straight into the man's face, knocking him over in a flash to finish the job he had been given, "What's happening...it isn't right. Seika...without her, would I be considered trash as well? What should I do...?" Quote: Demon - Poltergeist 20 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Fighting off the rioters had been hard, both physically and on his emotional state when he had considered that some of them might only be fighting out of a desperate desire to live and gather supplies they were denied otherwise...but hurting others for your own gain wasn't the way to go either, was it? He frowned deeply, taking a breath only to have the JPs officer in charge of the shelter remind him that the demons were attacking on the far side of the area and his assistance was still needed for the other task. Nodding sternly, he steeled himself for another encounter...fist clenching, he dashed across the shelter past the crowded bodies until at last he could see the swarm of Hairy Jacks and Hare of Inaba devils slamming against the barriers and being only temporarily held off by the officers. Pulling out his phone, it flipped open dramatically as he stood against his foes.
"Aa...Poltergeist! Zan!" he called out, letting the wind wash over his foes one at a time. This fight was much easier than the last...wild demons had to be warded off, no matter what. An enemy without a human face was easier to punch, after all. Still, whether this was right or wrong...fighting with JPs...his doubts remained the same. Quote: Demon - Poltergeist 25 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you.""Aa...you want me to be a medium?" the young man seemed confused by the request the JPs soldiers had made of him. What did they mean by a medium...possession? The boss demon behind the raid on the shelter had at last shown his face...a strange-looking snow monster wearing a strange kabuto on its head and a fake mustache calling itself 'Ho-da N-ho-bunaga" emerged, unleashing a torrent of ice that froze one of the JPs officers solid. That alone had made his decision for him, even if he didn't fully understand it. He couldn't watch one more person die if he had the power to stop it. "I agree...do it"
Throwing caution to the wind, he nodded...and the three yellow-clad officers remaining formed a triangle around he and the summoning terminal between them, channeling a power into his body that filled him with a strength that was not his own. And it was strong...a voice inside of him filled his mind with confidence...it spoke to him a name as he lanced across the park station and crashed his fist into the face of the Frosty Villain of the Sixth Realm and scattered him into snowflakes.
"Sarutahiko."
...

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Even after leaving the event at the shelter to return to the city on his own, declining the offer from the JPs soldiers to come back to the Headquarters and meet the Chief himself, it seemed that the boxer couldn't quite rid himself of the presence of the golden-jacketed soldiers that patrolled the streets of Iwatodai. As he had just gone back to where his search began to start looking for Seika once more, he saw a pair of JPs agents sprinting off towards some screaming in the distance at the train station...and he knew, without asking, that he had to go help them as well. And en route, a JPs agent who recognized him as a tamer nodded and joined forces with him the rest of the way.
"M-my son! You killed my son you b*****d!" a woman cried, throwing herself at the demon...only to be knocked from the top of the escalator clear to the bottom, a cleanly broken neck killing her upon impact. Hatsu and the JPs agent arrived in time to see the blood seep out from the wound on the back of her skull. Up above, the devil loomed...and though his ally was afraid, Hatsu's courage seemed to embolden him. "L-let's do this!" He cried, and charged up the escalator towards their foe. Hatsu could only nod grimly and clench his fist tighter...

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Defeating the stronger demon had only attracted the smaller ones, it seemed. The JPs soldier who had defended the station with him was collapsed in exhaustion at his side as the Inugami wound their way up the stairs and escalator to try and get at him, but Hatsu fought them off with an expert precision...he and his Poltergeist having developed quite a bond in the time they had spent together since yesterday morning. Others might have gotten rid of him by now, but Hatsu almost seemed resolved not to let him go. It was nice, but soon, they both knew the fusion to end this buddy-cop film was going to come. ...After all, only just now did the JPs officer explain to him how to use the Cathedral of Shadows. Just before he passed out again once the Inugami were defeated.
"Aa...thanks, Po," he smiled one more time, a little ghosty high-five between he and his summon signaling another job well-done. It was kind of cute, actually. Though still, it would have meant all the more if Seika could have been there with him... Quote: Demon - Poltergeist 41 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you.""Hey hey, long time no see! You really kicked those things' butts right now, didn't you? Reminds me of this other guy I met yesterday," a rather flaky-looking fellow mused out loud as he came down the stairs of the station, having just arrived from the Terminal from another city to head to the heart of Iwatodai and see what he could get up to. Instead, he had bumped into Hatsu and the exhausted JPs soldier finishing off their last foes and found himself impressed with what he had seen. He whistled casually and leaned against the railing as the 'Hard Luck' man shook out his fist and watched him, considering who he might have seen before that reminded him of himself. "You know, dark hair...two swords...something about Sapporo? I don't remember," he added, the vague details supposed to add up to something...and perhaps remarkably, they did! Recognition lit up in Hatsu's face and he felt his lips curl slightly. He was out there still after the Dubhe encounter, wasn't he? Kyuzo...
"Aa...thanks," he spoke up in honest gratitude, leaving so much unspoken between them that only a pair of true airheads like themselves could truly understand what had passed back and forth in the moment there...before at last, Hatsu turned towards the Terminal and decided to take his chances elsewhere, "Take care." "You know I will, buddy!"
The two went their separate ways then...only realizing a little later that they probably could have benefited from sharing some information before they parted. So it went... Quote: Demon - Poltergeist 51 Tokens

Seika Murakami "Go, Kobold." The hoard of demons taking control of the area had to be taken care of... They were like roaches: too many and too hard to kill. But that wasn't stopping the redhead. This place was pure chaos... and people had enough worrying about rioters and others taking advantage of the situation to sum demons into the equation. If she could at least help a little with this... then she would. If she could find a relatively safe haven in the meanwhile... so much better, still.
