Eziya had decided to run off from Serr for the day and wander around Oba more. Other than small encounters with rude natives, she really hadn't interacted with the people of this area. She longed to just interact with one of the Firelings long enough to get to know them without them trying to run her off. It was hard enough to just help them, but trying to talk to them, her chances were even smaller. She had wandered the market with no luck of interaction, so her next guess on where to go was a tavern. There were plenty of people there to interact with, and she was sure she could talk to someone! Whether it was a friendly interaction or not was yet to be seen. She was not exactly a fighter, so if there happened to be a brawl she could really only heal up the injuries after everything was said and done. Hopefully if that happened she could meet someone fun. She was sure if she got injured Serr wouldn't be too pleased, but luckily she hadn't told him where she was going! She was on her own once more and ready to hit up the tavern! She'd never had a drink in her life, and when she'd wandered into town before drinks hadn't been on her mind. Now she was curious about trying a drink while she hung around.

Wandering into the tavern the outgoing Shifter, slid into a bar stool as she tried her best to order a drink. She had no idea what was good, or even what was safe in the place. She also worried about trying something a strange Oban bartender would try to give her. She really was living on the edge in her mind, and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not.

Hopefully this works! I saw that Shalvesta needed to lose her cool so I figured a tavern brawl would be fun for them! ^^'

That sounds lovely ! I'm sorry for the delay on this, I had almost 5 hours of overtime at work this week XD we were so busy I usually passed out as soon as I got home =w=

Shalvesta was home, for the first time since the war. Months ago, she had run away in the dead of night, staying at the main Oban camp in Jauhar, hoping upon hope to find some sign from Mash'al. All she knew, now, was that he was possibly alive... or, at least, had lived past the battle that allegedly took his life. For a short time after the war ended, staying in Jauhar had felt... ideal. She retreated to the Oban settlements that bordered the forest, biding her time and setting her sights to Zena, the snowy region far to the northeast - here, she hoped, she could hide out, detach herself from her family name.

Things had not worked out. She had gotten as far as the border of Tale before she opted to return home, relying on her own strength to settle things with her in-laws and herself.

Working up the nerve to actually return to them was proving difficult, however. No one here recognized her - not that she would have ever met any of the scruffy men that plagued this tavern, before the war. Now - she almost felt at home here, listening to the raucous balking around her - reminding her of fireside conversations that she had only been brave enough to participate in when she started to learn swordsmanship.

Gripping her drink in her hand (made from fermented quhar milk and alcohol that was heated and spiced), Shalvesta leaned back with a soft sigh, looking around the tavern almost suspiciously. Her eyes lingered on a shifter woman that had settled here - frowning doubtfully. The woman definitely wouldn't be safe here, among such rowdy men - but Shalvesta did nothing to shoo her away.

Eziya could feel someone's eyes on her. While she assumed that sort of thing was common in a place like this, it still unnerved her. Perhaps if she stayed calm and kept to herself everything would be okay. She had decided to just get water, so maybe they were secretly judging her for that. She hoped not, since water was still important to the body after all! One couldn't just live on alcohol. That was really unsafe. Still feeling the presence of someone looking at her, she glanced over quickly and spotted the culprit. It was an Oban woman, and with a frown like that she was sure she didn't like her presence there. At least, she assumed that's what it was. She gave a little wave at the woman before turning back to her drink, hoping that she wouldn't try to kick her out or anything. That would just be unfortunate.

Glancing around again, she was surprised when another bar patron crashed into her and spilled his drink down her. Grumbling, the patron narrowed his eyes at her and stood up, though with his drunken stupor it was hard for him to keep straight for very long.

"You spilled my drink," he slurred out, leaning closer to her. The smell of alcohol was heavy on his breath, and she could only hope he would pass out soon and leave her alone.

"N-no, sir. You spilled your drink. On me," she tried to say calmly, though she was a bit furious at him. It's not like she had been the one who had done anything wrong! She just knew if she said anything too hostile it would end badly for everyone involved. Best to keep her cool for now.

Fff XD Sorryyyy !

Shalvesta could tell the moment the girl realized she had an audience, as she tensed marginally and lifted her eyes, giving a cursory gaze. Shalvesta felt the urge to look away, but instead resolutely kept her eyes on her. Unnerving the foreigner into leaving felt like it was a better alternative to getting on the wrong side of a less kind Oban. Was she... concerned for the woman? Perhaps, but it wasn't as though Shal felt any sort of kindred allegience to any of the people here.

Meeting the shifter's gaze, Shalvesta lifted her brows, surprised at the friendly wave. Yes, she decided, she would watch out for this girl - she seemed entirely out of sorts here!

Of course, Shal hadn't thought her own worries would become reality mere seconds later - a very drunk Oban stumbled sideways, liquid sloshing out from his mug and all over the girl's front. From here, Shal couldn't hear what was being said - but she could tell from body language alone, the way he attempted to loom over her intimidatingly (even if his state meant he slumped too much for it to be fully effective) said all it needed to.

Shoving herself from her seat, Shalvesta raised her chin, took a deep breath to calm her nerves, and squeezed past the too-tight space between tables, plucking her glass from where she'd left it. She made her way up to the bar, closer to where the girl sat, so she could be close should the incident grow out of hand, passing the mug to the bartender and shaking her head at the offer for more. Instead, she side-eyed the pair. The man wouldn't be able to see her, as she was standing behind him, but certainly the woman would if she looked over his shoulder. Then again, if Shalvesta was being stared down by a drunk man from an enemy-race, she wouldn't dare take her eyes off him.

Eziya continued to fidget in her seat, trying to think of a way to get out of the mess she had somehow gotten into. She was a lot smaller than the drunkard before her and definitely no fighter. She didn't know how to handle a situation such as this. She'd never been to a bar before now, let alone dealt with someone like this! Oh if she had known it would be like this she would have never come. She would have stayed home and read a book or something. Anything but this. Trying to shift away from the man she glanced around the room once more, hoping that someone would come and save her. The only change she noticed was that the Oban woman she had spotted earlier had moved from her spot in a booth up to the bar. She was most likely getting a drink, at least that's what she assumed, but maybe she could somehow get her attention and get her help. She'd owe her greatly, but it seemed to really be the only option at the moment. Squirming more she tried to look at her and motion to the guy with her eyes. She was awful at asking for help, but at this point in time she had no other choice. It was either ask for help or get bothered even more by the drunk man on her!

Don't know how long your planning to stick around since the shop closed, but I'd definitely like to continue our rps if you're up for it. smile

A month and a half later, she finally posts. Jeez. @@;

...Damn. Shalvesta felt the old flair of anxiety at the idea of intervening - the remainder of her younger self, who would have quailed away from any man who was posturing and blustering. But she couldn't just leave the girl in this situation! While the drunkard may just go off to nurse his wounded pride, Shalvesta didn't want to gamble on someone else's safety - that, and she would never forgive herself if, come morning, she learned of the girl meeting a darker fate, for such a small offense.

Cursing under her breath, Shalvesta gestured for another drink, ignoring the annoyed huff of the bartender she had, just previously, waved off. Once she had another mug of spiced ale, she lifted it and nudged the massive patron in the arm with the cold mug, raising a thin brow at him. Shalvesta had spent a long time among soldiers - but even then, you often couldn't guess how certain brutes would react in a given situation. "Ah, quit harassing the foreigner and take a drink, will you?" Shal forced a smile and lifted the mug again, waiting for him to take it.

She didn't feel friendly in the slightest, but she tried to harness some of the friendly camaraderie she had once felt for the soldiers she'd known a long time ago. Shal just hoped he'd take the free drink, and wonder away, rather than insist on causing trouble.

"What ye rather I harass ya instead, hot cakes?" Eziya panicked as the man threatened the Oban woman, not wanting her to get hurt trying to get the man to stop. For a moment she was mildly amused at the strange insult, at least she thought it was an insult, but quickly brushed that aside in lieu of trying to defend her own honor now. She wasn't really sure what she wanted now. She definitely needed help, but didn't want anyone else being harmed in the process.

"No, no sir. Leave her out of this please. She was just offering you a drink. Is that okay?" she spoke quietly, hoping staying calm would work on him.

"See ya hear that? She wants me attention, don't ya girl?" he laughed loudly in her hear, slinging an arm around her shoulder. She really shouldn't have run off without Serr. She was beginning to think it was a very very bad plan.

Thank youuu <3

"Oh, so you are aware that you are harassing her." Shalvesta grumbled, shooting the girl a skeptical and partly annoyed look. Her looking at her and wanting help was already pulling her into it - to change her mind and not want to cause he trouble was only making it harder to help her! If Shalvesta was really as hardened as she pretended to be, she probably would have left the girl to her harasser - but the very idea was so abhorrent to her that Shalvesta shook the thought off as soon as it floated into her mind.

"Alright, but you made me do this." Her tone was almost apologetic, before she lifted her arm and poured the entire mug of hot, steaming cider down the man's front. If he was annoyed by being splashed before, how mad would he be to have hot, burning liquid poured on him - this time on purpose?

It was, most likely, a foolish and stupid idea but Shal didn't have the patience to be diplomatic these days - she'd left those times behind her.

To say that he was mildly annoyed would be an understatement. He was drunk and belligerent, and now on top of all of that he was burning. Annoyed had left a long time ago, probably somewhere between his tenth drink and his interactions with Eziya. Now he was just downright enraged. With the drink and the offender distracting him, Eziya was lucky enough to slip away. His full attention was now on the Oban woman, and the Shifter was worried he was about to harm her in some way. She was sure the lady could handle herself just fine, but that didn't stop her from casting a small little spell of defense to keep her protected in case things went downhill fast. With how he was stumbling towards her, it looked like there would be a brawl sooner rather than later.

"Oh this is all just bad."

aww than kyouuu and that sucks when that happens D:!!! God this has been going on for months and only half done XD I'm so sorry ;3; if you don't need this req anymore, there's no pressure to continue with it.

Thank the gods, NOW the northerner had taken the hint and extricated herself from the situation. Shalvesta flashed her a relieved look, before fixing her attention on the belligerent Oban. Perhaps he was simply too far gone to utter his grievances - but the way he stumbled about left her confident she could evade any sort of attack. Backing off from the man, she rested her hand against the hilt of her sword.

The proprietor of the bar looked between the two, and the buzz of conversation from the other clients raised in volume, turning into shouts of support, or as the case most likely was a general clamor for a fight. Hands beat against tabletops, drunken voices calling for him to just HIT her already - and strangely enough, a situation that had been dangerous and threatening before... now felt utterly thrilling.

Her blood pulsed through her, and the excitement of the crowd heated her blood until she was smiling, a white-toothed grin that transformed her otherwise somber face wickedly. Spreading her hands at the man. "Do you only harass unarmed women, is that it? What are you waiting for?"

With the encouragement of the bar and Shalvesta's comment fueling his drunken rage, it didn't take long for the Oban to drunkenly swing at her. Eziya was panic stricken by this point, trying to reach out and stop the fight from happening. There was no need for this fight at all, and even more so was the fact that the stranger had gotten into it all because of her. She should have just tried to handle it all herself. If she stepped into it now she was sure to get hit, but if she didn't step in her savior would be hit instead. It was a bad situation either way.

"M-miss please don't," she tried to say squeaking when the man tried to hit Shalvesta square in the jaw.

While the man attacking her was utterly drunk, and Shalvesta was sober, that didn't mean the fight would be simple. The bar was crowded, especially with the allure of a fistfight brewing, and her opponent was large. With how cluttered the bar was, with its tables and stools every which way, and taking her eye off the hulking man before her for even a second would be a horrible idea.

Ducking from his first hit, Shalvesta fell backward, away from his punch, hip hitting the counter as he stumbled forward, along with the inertia of his fist. Scrambling around a handful of bar stools, Shalvesta shot a glance towards Eziya, raising her eyebrows at her entreaties. The adrenaline pumping through her blood urged her to keep fighting - but the panic in the girl's wavering voice, and the attention of the rest of the bar, appealed to her logic.

A little too late, of course. Caught between the bar and a stool, and looking towards Eziya, Shalvesta was caught by surprise when the drunken man shoved forward against the stool -shoving her, hard, into the polished wood behind her. The wind was knocked out of her in the form of a pained grunt. She wasn't pinned down for long, as he lost his balance and slanted sideways off of the stool, giving her a chance to breath and inch her way towards Eziya.

It might be for the best if they left the bar, and the growing cry for blood from the Obans around them. "...Fine. Door, let's go." She grunted, curtly, resting one hand against Eziya's shoulder and pushing her, lightly, in the direction of the exit. The other hand, with the sharp metallic claws at her fingertips, hovered infront of her, defensively, as she warily eyed the drunken behemoth of a man.

PostPosted: Wed Mar 23, 2016 2:24 am
"M-miss, what about the guy?" Eziya questioned, trying to split her attention between walking forward and keeping a look out for the drunken man. She hadn't planned on getting in so much trouble when she'd wandered off, yet it always seemed to find her one way or another. No matter how hard she tried to avoid getting into bad situations they just ended up happening anyway. She was starting to think maybe she was cursed. No normal person would manage to constantly fall into trouble like she did.

The man himself was stumbling from his spot, trying to go after them to the best of his drunken ability. Bar stools and tables alike were shoved aside in his stupor, and Eziya became more panicked as he began shouting once more.

"Yer a coward, protectin' that outsider," he slurred out, throwing a glass in their direction. Luckily his aim was terrible and it missed them completely, but the shattering of the glass was enough to cause her to jump where she stood.

"We should really really get out of here. You're probably hurting. We should just run or something," she whispered, glancing warily back at the man steadying himself on stools as he pushed forward.

Omg it's been 10 months since we started this rp. omg sweatdrop If you don't need it anymore, again, we can always stop. I'm so sorry ;-;

"Yes, good idea." Shalvesta responded quickly. While she thought herself more composed than the shivering woman behind her she, too, flinched at the tossed bottle, ducking her head away from the shower of glass. While whatever burst of adrenaline had given him the focus to pursue them seemed to be evaporating, she still recognized that there was a great risk in remaining here, even if he were to pass out. In a bar of Obans, shouting that she was defending an outsider could possibly rekindle any lingering patriotism in the other patrons - could incite a full scale bar fight, if others felt particularly feisty.

And while Shalvesta wanted to be primed for a fight (and would be all for a scrap, if she was on her own), she recognized that leaving the bar may, as the foreigner suggested, be the best course of action.

Risking it, Shalvesta half turned away from the man and instead motioned for the girl to head towards the exit, trailing closely after her. "Don't stop, and don't look back, just keep walking."
