Merope chirped, excited to see a Crobat in action. Her father was a Crobat, and she was training to join their ranks. (Of course, part of such training included bonding with her trainer, which she imagined would be easier to do once Genesis woke up!)

Zyk dodged the golbat. It had been a long time since he'd faced a pokemon of his own evolution line. That didn't stop him from attempting to headbutt Merope at full force, however.

Pros of having a flighted opponent: she didn't have to swoop very low to get a physical hit. Cons: they could fly, too.
