Zinnia entered the stadium with Zyk winging his way at her side. "Ready?" she asked. "Cro!" Zyk affirmed. He preened his trainer's hair for a second before flying out to his place on the field. "Let's do our best!" the teenager called.

Katrina entered the stadium with Flavia, the tiger stripped Persian at her side. This would be their first battle together since arriving in Zatao.
"Alright Flavia, lets do this and we promise not to get too depressed if we lose. After all we do need to get some experience at battling if we are to participate in contests" Katrina told the Persian.
"Purr" the Persian replied back before taking the field.

Alright it was their first move. Raking her brain Katrina tried to remember what types a crobat was. It had wings so it must be part flying. "Flavia Thunderbolt" She called out quickly. With a bit of elegance the persians fur began to become filled with electricity, then at the right moment the cat pokemon released it, sending it out towards the bat pokemon. "Cross Poison!" Zinnia commanded.
Zyk flinched from the electric attack, but he didn't let that deter him for long. He dove straight for his opponent, fangs at the ready to poison the persian.

At the command of the other Katrina remembered that the Crobat line were also part Poison, that she would have to keep in the back of her mind this battle. Thankfully Flavia dodged the attack of the Crobat. "Growl" Katrina called out. Well that wasn't going to work. It seemed Thunderbolt worked much better then this. "Thunderbolt once more" Flavia turned towards her opponent and sent another charge of electricity towards the crobat. By that point, Zinnia knew their strategy wasn't going to work. "Air Cutter!" she commanded.
Zyk nearly fell out of the sky at the next thunderbolt, but he regained altitude and sent a razor-sharp gust of wind in the persian's direction.
