Hobbies: Being Out and About - Tor loves being out of the house just as much as they like being in it. They love going dancing, hanging out with friends, rollerblading, shopping, just exploring the city. They don't discriminate activities, just as long as it's all in good fun and no one's going to get hurt. If someone's going to get hurt, then they've got a serious problem with it.
Roleplaying - If Tor's in front of the computer or has their dice bag in hand, they're likely RPing. They love tabletop and online RPs equally, and their interests span a wide range: from original ideas to D&D to Cybergen to L5R to RPing as canon characters on Tumblr and IMs and message boards. They spend a little time most days online RPing, and they crash at a buddy's place once a week for D&D night currently. Though it doesn't always end up being D&D.
Art - Tor loves art. They love to sketch, doodle, paint with watercolors or oils, and color using markers, crayons, or pastels. They have sketchbooks littered across their dad's apartment, a couple in their backpack for school, several computer folders with finished and in-progress digital art, and they scrimped, scrounged, and did commissions for a couple of years to save up for a Cintiq Companion, VERY recently bought. Their style is inspired by the anime and manga and video games they love, along with a large dose of realism and a massive love of bold colors, experimentation, and attention to detail when it comes to expressions, little flourishes, and clothes.
Nights In - Tor is a homebody at the end of it all. They love just spending a night at home with books, movies, video games, their computer, what have you. They're happy to invite a friend or two over and just take over the couch, or hang with their Dad and watch Stargate or Star Trek all night long. It's also a good time for them to just breath, unwind, and let the stresses of the day/week/month wash away.
Virtues:A Spark of Insanity - Tor is creative, there is no doubting that. They love coming up with new ideas, new worlds, new possibilities. They will often try to look at things from another perspective, and try to keep a brightness to the world, even when it seems particularly grim. They won't let the box keep them in a corner if they don't have to. Their imagination was meant to be used!
There is Nothing Enlightened About Shrinking - Tor takes that speech to heart, the one from Coach Carter, along with all the other motivational things they've heard on their own and because of their father. Tor is comfy in their skin, is comfy with who they are. They know that's a rare thing, and they're not going to let anyone tear them down. They walk with their held high, and they encourage others to do the same. They let insults about their gender, presentation, and most other things just roll over. Though some thing do set off their temper. And don't expect Tor to hold their opinion back if they think it should be heard. Sometimes it can get them in trouble, but they won't let that stop them from standing up for the right thing.
An Open Heart is an Open Mind - Tor isn't the sort to shirk others. They know what it's like to be outcast, and is happy to open their arms to others like them; those who don't fit in, the ones who don't fit the 'norm'. They'll keep a seat open at their table so a newcomer can join their group, or sit with someone and offer them a tissue if there's crying going on. They want to help, they want to be kind, and they want to show their support to others like themself.
Flaws:At Arms' Length - Tor wants to help, wants to include people and tries to treat everyone like a decent human being...and at the same time, they don't want to let many people in close, into the category of 'friend' or 'family'. They have lost more than a few friends over the years to their 'weirdness' or just their horrible luck, and they're still recovering from the loss of their mother a couple of years ago, and their grandmother the year before that. They tend to keep their secrets to themself, and don't let people in too closely, get too attached.
This is Gonna Hurt - Generally, Tor is sweet-tempered, amiable, and kind. And then there's Tor when they're pissed off. Push too hard, too long, or push the wrong buttons, and Tor has a terrifying temper. They're loud, will bite back verbally or literally, and don't check their words at all. The brain-to-mouth filter just vanishes entirely and all that comes out is the anger [and sometimes hurt]. They tend to regret things said or done later...but in the heat of the moment, they're all hurt and bite.
Heartfelt Heartache - While Tor keeps their own heartaches to themself, the woes and worries of others far too easily affect them. They're the one crying over Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and is easily pulled into people's sob stories. They just want to make everyone feel better, if they aren't being an a*****e [that they know of], and they do their best to bend over backwards and rush to the aid of the wounded soul. Sometimes to the detriment of themself or others, if they aren't very careful.
