Sezarra stood on the ridge looking for the broad backs of the mammu, once she got her whip she could start taming. Of course mammu was rather a hard target to start off with but no one had ever accused her of being shy of a challenge before. Chatty yes, shy no. She giggled and slid down the ridge, was it odd that the great creatures were so close to town? Or did they sneak in at night to steal food? And really who would argue with a mammu..maybe her but certainly not many others right?
Thorvin snuffled along behind his mistress, where was she going? Certainly not after those giant fluffy things that could sit on him and that would be the end of that. He hoped she was smarter, at least they weren't janarim nooo she had brought her own with them. Sometimes he did wonder about her.
Rein the janarim in question eyed the mammu tracks with curiousity, they smelled different from anything else, and she suspected the huge, rediculous coat she wore was made from their fur. Well it was cold and she was grateful but she detested looking so fluffy.

She was getting out more and more. She wasn't super friendly with most of the people she saw, but to those that she saw that were younger she was. They reminded her of her own daughters, and she had always loved those younger.
Today she was out exploring, looking for wood for her room and possibly a mammu that she could kill and skin. She needed more fur, the ones she had been using were getting thin and the nights were too cold for that to be okay.
As she stared out at them she saw a figure in the distance, flanked by creatures. She frowned at seeing it was a shifter, what was she doing all the way out here?

Thorvin sniffed the air and stared at the figure so far away, he growled and nudged Seze. Seze turned and saw the iceling there too. "Oh! A person, I guess that makes sense so close to town hey?" She waved and hopped on Rien to go visit. She hoped the person was friendly but with a rakaku and a janarim she figured that she was hardly defenseless. She smiled and leaned over Rien's broad back as they raced closer, slowing a short ways away and walking the rest. "Good morning, is it not a glorious day?" She grinned and stayed on the janarim for a bit just to be sure that the woman was friendly, she was shockingly beautiful.

Zuri waved back at the girl and whistled, causing Haimah to come trotting over. He had been off wandering, and although the other person didn't look like they wanted trouble one could never be sure. The girl had two companions, but it wasn't anything that worried her.
She smiled at the girls words. "It is, though I'm prone to thinking every day here in Zena is a wonderful one, so I might not be the best person to ask." she laughed. "My name is Zuri. That's an interesting companion you have with you." she said mentioning towards the janarim.

"That is a good outlook to have, I haven't been up here for long enough to experience the different kinds of weather being a Jauhar native. Although I have heard stories of the fierce northern storms that lock people in for days at a time." She didn't wish to talk about the alternative of being locked out, she had wandered away when those stories had come up. "Ooh! Another radaku, with a lovely pattern at that!" She gushed. "They and janarim are my favorite for sure. My lovely girl here was bought from people who didn't understand her delicate sensibilities, and as such she is not overly fond of male earthlings I'm afraid." Thorvin grunted a greeting at the other radaku, clearly doing well by his mistress like Thorvin himself. Respect. Rein was more interested in the woman then her pet and sniffed curiously in that direction.

She nodded. "The weather is just as varied as in Jauhar. I lived there for many years. The cold has a danger different from the heat, but still I find I prefer it." she looked over at Haimah and smiled. "Catching him was the last thing I did before came back here to Zena. I think his coat makes him fit in here nicely." she rested a hand on his back. She frowned at the girls talking of her radaku. It always angered her to hear about the mistreatment of companions.
"Well it is a good thing that you got her. People can be so curel, but they get what they deserve in the end." she believed that firmly.
She held out a hand towards Rein just as Haimah barked towards Thorvin. "May I?" she asked politely.

"Of course, she doesn't seem edgy you should be okay." Sezarra peered interestedly at the janarim. Thorvin inched closer to Haimah to get a good sniff and barked back, bobbing his head in a friendly greeting. Rein was not always opposed to socializing and to outdo her smaller older brother stepped quietly closer to Zuri, putting her head close for a pet. Seze smiled. "I'm most happy when they are all in a good mood." She giggled. "I'm proud to give them a better home then they could have had, thats what having a familiar is all about."

Zuri smiled as she petted Rein. "Well they are lucky to have you. It's sad that not everyone sees things in the same way."
She scratched the janarim happily. She hadn't seen one so close before. It made her wonder about her choice of mount. "If I may ask, what brings you to Zena?"
Haimah playfully put his nose on Thorvin, glad to see one of his own kind again.

"Looking for Mammu and other Zenan critters, trying to learn as much as I can about new kinds of animals, and since I came up with family friends I figured I'm here anyway might as well go explore. I feel pretty safe all things considered as long as I don't get lost or too cold." Seze patted Rein and Thorvin insinuated his head under her other hand. "Soon I think I will be going home so I was hoping to get close enough to the Mammu to observe some behaviours in case I ever need to face one in battle or in a beast battle. They are so big."

She nodded. That was a good reason to come to Zena. And the fact that the came with family friends was good. It could be dangerous out in Zena by yourself. "That's good. Raptrix are mostly in caves. Or at least that's where I've seen most of the wild ones. Though they can be pretty dangerous." she warned.
She nodded as she looked towards the Mammu. "They are large, and many riders of Zena favor them as mounts. They can be formatible enemies, but have weaknesses. Especially in the back of their knees. If you can get that close."

"The back of their knees hey? I will definitely have to remember that, I must admit I wouldn't be all that scared of a raptrix after janarim and radaku, what could be worse than them. I suppose if you did go for the back the Mammu's knees that their weight would bear them to the ground, are they robust enough that the fall would not seriously injure them? I don't want to hurt a beast too badly, especially if they are fighting for their owners anyway or wild or any really." She shrugged. "I wouldn't think landing on your knees when your that big is all that much fun." Thankfully she was tiny in comparison and could and would land on her knees if she had too.

She shrugged. To each their own. Personally she found Raptrix more frightening then Raptrix, but maybe that was just her. Everyone saw things differently, and had their own stories of which each beast should be feared. "To be honest I'm not sure. I've never fought a Mammu with a rider, just hunted them for food when I do need to kill them." The more she talked to the girl the more she realized they saw things pretty differently. That was fine though, that was what made the world work right? Different types of people.
"I do think it might harm them, however it would be less severe then most other attacks. They could heal from a fall to their knees."
