Rider
Name: Narisa
Age: 37
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Warden??
Description: Narisa stands at about 5'6" at her fullest (with an inch or so added from the small heel of her boots). Her hair is short in length, going a little below her chin and auburn in color though it looks a deeper red at night. Light blue eyes will gaze out at you always with a smile and maybe a small hint of mischief. When Narisa smiles, it is a pretty thing that seems to brighten up her already soft and warm features. She tends to keep her appearance clean and presentable but typically spends most of her time in pants that she can easily throw a skirt over when needing to appear a little more dressed up with a nice tank top or blouse, depending on the occasion. Her riding leathers are never too far behind either.
History:

Pre-Weyr
Born into a family of Vintnercraft folk, Narisa has grown up among the smell of the grapes and sweet scents of the brewery. Her father is a well established and higher up Journeyman that could be a Master one day but has never taken that next step up. He is happy where he's at and with the fellow vintners he works with. Starting from an early age, Narisa's father was teaching her about the different grapes and fruits specially grown for the wines, the fruits used for ciders and ales as well as the herbs to spice things up and help give their drinks that right kick.

Being too young to actually work with the alcoholic drinks (at least too young by her parents standards), Narisa has branched off and started an apprenticeship that focused on ciders. She is able to brew a few of her own ciders without the assistance of a journeyman ranked vintner. When not brewing, she is being taught how to carve the wooden stoppers and make the lipid seals for vegetables. A small section of the gardens have been marked aside for the apprentices to claim a portion of and perfect their skills in growing their ingredients.

Once she hit the age of 17, she began being schooled for the possibility of testing to be of journeywoman rank. Her father has taught her what he knows and has expectations for her to walk in his shoes. All this was met with a big smile and a fully prepared Narisa.

Then something that none of them expected. A Rider came to their Hall on Search. Narisa was chosen as a candidate. She was shocked like most candidates surely were, and could only sputter out responses as the Rider spoke to her. He even walked her out and introduced her to his dragon. A fine beast it was. Between both man and dragon, they explained what it meant to be Searched as Narisa had only heard from word of mouth what it meant. It was a big deal and she had asked for the chance to talk with her parents. Both her mother and father were hesitant to support this at first but after talking it over with the Rider, they were pleased that such good fortune had befallen their daughter. Parents smiling proudly, Narisa was soon taken to Trine Weyr where she began learning what Weyr life was like.

Before she knew it, Narisa found herself staring down at a golden hatchling demanding to be fed. And thus, Narisa became a goldrider and a jr. wyerwoman of Trine.

Trine Weyr & Wherwars
A goldrider. A potential candidate to one day be a Weyrwoman. Something she never even dreamed of being possible when first coming to the Weyr. But then one fiery gold had chosen her. And Narisa had done her best to fill the overly large boots she'd been given. Some claimed she did it well. She never felt that she was doing enough. But she formed close bonds with those she met, and even found herself having a couple fellow goldrider’s for a best friends.

But that was when the wars first started. Benden was lost to the dragonriders. Malvren soon to follow. The whers and the loyalists of Keller claimed them for their own. They became the Wherholds. Trine would have fallen with the other two Weyrs, but the dragonfolk stood strong and held the Weyr. Being a jr. weyrwoman, Narisa learned firsthand what it would be like to take care of not only an entire Weyr... but three of them combined. They had lost too much. And her own Weyrwoman had suffered in the wars as well. But Abigail pulled through with a new and strange ability. And before Narisa knew it, she found herself 'competing' for the future position of Weyrwoman.

And then the wherwars struck in force. Not only had they been brash enough to try and steal a golden egg from Suunath's clutch, but then they went too far and poisoned Sharath. A queen from one of the other Weyr's that had stayed oblivious to the happenings between Trine, Malvren, and Benden. Narisa found herself forced to watch as her friend suffered. Then the inevitable happened. Sharath died. And for the first time, Narisa felt the acidic feeling of rage mixed with sorrow begin to brew. Cepheith too was affected, becoming more agitated. With the younger gold’s (and her friends) death, Cepheith took up watching the motherless clutch until the eggs were hardened. She was highly distrustful of anyone coming near the eggs, lest someone try and do more damage then had already been done. The goldpair grew to be among many of the strong voices demanding Keller's head in the outrage they felt. She gave Sharath’s rider as much support as the other woman would allow, knowing she grieved for her dragon.

However the rage Narisa felt scared her. She had not known she was capable of feeling such hate towards anyone. Her dragon had not discouraged it. A great wrong had been dealt them and they had every right to hate the man. The fact that her own gold was finding nothing wrong with the hate and rage was enough to make the goldrider feel guilty. Especially when Amelia needed them level headed. As did Trine. Only to her closest companions - Kindra and Set'al - Narisa was able to admit this fear.

For three turns the wars raged. And for three turns, Keller eluded them. Until finally, when all the Weyrs become involved, and many battles were fought, he was imprisoned. And the goldpair took what felt like their first real breath in ages. Even that didn’t last long as Keller’s life was ended by, of all things poison. And Amelia took her own soon after. However the grief she felt was soon sparked with a ray of hope for good tidings. Cepheith rose once again, producing a healthy clutch of 31. Unfortunately, there was once again no gold egg. But this didn't deter the gold pairs hope. Until they were tossed yet another slap in the face.

The fall of the Golds.

She had understood the fear some of the other goldrider’s had felt. Could understand the overreaction and overuse of the gold’s power. However she did not approve of it. Did not partake in such acts. But with wounds still fresh from the end of the Wherwars, Pern didn’t seem ready to combat this new and growing threat. Thus, the golds lost their power. They were no longer ‘born’ into leadership. In fact, for the first time since she had become a goldrider, Narisa found many new opportunities suddenly available for herself and her dragon. No longer were they destined only to be junior or senior weyrwomen! They could be wingrider’s! Searchrider’s! Even wardens, if they so choose!

A new world was opened up to them. And the beginnings of a new family, as Narisa found herself mother to three children with her weyrmate, Set'al. Though they still feared what would become of golds, Narisa and Cepheith have embraced their new freedom and begun to explore the opportunities opened up to them. They had chosen to test the waters as Wardens, taking the time to learn first-aid from the healers and practicing to be more like an emergency crew but also using their experience as junior werywoman/gold for inspections of traders, goods, foreign dignitaries, etc.

Personality:
She's always been an ambitious woman that wanted to do her family proud. When she was younger, this was quite apparent in how she would push herself to work hard in learning the art of brewing for the vintner craft. It ran in the family, so to speak. And she had every desire to rise up in the ranks and be a skilled vintner. Until she was blindsided by a bold and passionate dragon he swayed her ambition from her home craft to the Weyr. She will work endlessly to achieve the best results she is capable of in attempt to be the inspriation some seem to see her as. Her ambition is not so strong as to make her blinded by power or desire a seat of leadership. She wants to simply use her skills and determination to assist those that she can in whatever task she's needed.

While being an ambitious and hardworking woman, Narisa is also a devoted one. Both in her love and loyalty to friends, Weyr, and weyrmate. A trait that seems to go hand in hand with her hard working nature, she will devote herself to the task at hand while encouraging others to do so right along side her. Her devotion to her dragon and Trine has been a shining beacon of hope when dark times fell on them, but she remained faithful. She'll take that extra step or go that extra mile if asked. She tries very hard not to be solely devoted to one thing or another. This has helped her to learn how to work with her people, especially when she was a junior weyrwoman. She gave help to everyone equally, letting them know she always had time to spare for them. Her devotion has made her a stronger woman and given her strength over the turns.

If you were to ask anyone if they knew something about Narisa, you'd probably be surprised to find many people could answer this! Narisa is a very open individual, never hiding how she feels or what her opinions might be. Though this doesn't mean she won't hesitate in some instances. But this is due more to her doubting herself then not wanting to share what's on her mind. Her openness has also allowed her to grow closer to people as they feel comfortable talking with her and listening to her advice. It has also allowed her to be more outgoing and rarely shy, like when she was younger.

Even after the many turns, she still suffers from self-doubt in herself. She has gone through many things over the past ten turns that have increased this side of her. This was especially more apparent after her dark times of wanting and demanding Keller's death. So fearful of how she acted, Narisa fell into a heavy self doubt session where she questioned everything she did. It has made her less confident in her ability to be a leader. And with the fall of the golds, she feels that this is the chance for her to take and discover what she is really capable of.

Other: She still very much likes drinking! You can take the girl out of the vintner hall, but you can't take the vintner craft completely out of the girl~!

Dragon
Name: Cepheith
Age: 18
Colour: Gold
Size: Average
Build: Average
Description: She now harbors scars along her back legs and tail due to being in too close proximity to the poisoned Sharath while the other gold was trying to survive to lay her clutch and not in a state of mind to accept any assistance from the older gold. Her wings are also a little tattered from flying in several fights herself.
Personality:
Cepheith is a gold that knows her place and is comfortable in that knowledge – she doesn’t need to prove herself or impress her importance on others. This confidence is deeply rooted and powerful, making her the sort of personality that people notice. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and sees no reason not to speak to people other then Hers, it is her opinion and you have yours and as long as her opinion is recognized and respected there are no problems. However, should someone slander her or needlessly criticize/be petty, Cepheith can have an explosive temper. She is as intelligent as she is confident and often runs circles around those she argues with. Should someone keep up with quick, sharp wit, she may pursue debate simply for the entertainment and challenge. Indeed, much like a Supergiant, she can spontaneously burst into frenzied activity – be it organizing, training, moderating dragons, leading (to the point of nit picking) or mating. Her peers will have to learn to handle these sudden, intense bursts of activity and Hers will also need to learn to channel this energy constructively as when the mood strikes her, it is often applied to all aspects of her life and can be both damaging and productive.

This is most notable during her mating flights – she may be average in size but her sheer reserves of energy enables her to fly long and hard. Only those who provide a challenge for her will be allowed to catch her but beware, just because you’re close doesn’t mean she’ll accept you. Cepheith can and will tear at an unacceptable male and heavens forbid a second gold Rise – the two will surely fight to the death.

Cepheith is strong, bold, and noticed not for being flashy but for her passion. Intelligent and proud, this gold requires someone who has an equally strong personality who can keep up with or at least soften the edges of Cepheith’s passion. This dragon may get angry but she will never fall down – there’s simply too much energy and drive and presence in Cepheith to succumb to depression. The Weyr certainly had their hands full with this fearless new leader!

However, with the Fall of the Golds, Cepheith has surprisingly taken to it well. Having known what she was and never seeing a need to stress this upon anyone, the new status Golds now hold is just another challenge for her to work with. She is a little disappointed with the lack of responsibility and leadership required of her, but new doors have been opened and this is one Gold that is ready to face the new world with her tail still held high.

Other: As with many pairs, Cepheith and Narisa share some similarities but also have some key differences. Both of them are open and honest and each also has ambition, desire to succeed in life. Cepheith - as an intelligent gold who knows her role in life - recognized Narisa's great capacity for loyalty and believes that she can turn it from the Vintnercraft to service of the Weyr. This confident queen will be able to compensate for Narisa's lack of self-confidence and will drive her on to act with great passion, but equally those moments of question from Narisa will be key in keeping Cepheith from getting too carried away during her bursts of frenzied activity.
