After hearing of the tournament, Sirzechs thought it best to pay a visit to Issei Hyoudo. The idea was to have Issei be the guest of honor at this year's tournament. So, undeniable, Lucifer took Issei and stationed him at the arena. When Rias heard of this she was beside herself with worry. Immediately she and Akeno left for Hell, possibly for the duration of the tournament.
As the day approaches more and more parties are showing interest, whether it be Domina Mortem at the arena itself, or the dauntless Cerise Arushi training her forces with fervor in preparation for the competition.

The day the tournament was announced Rai, Kiba, and the mysterious Haru faced off against the Punisher of Hell answering to the name Alistor. As it was, they were not ready to deal with the punisher's temporal manipulations and were forced to retreat with the help of Alexander the angel.
Kiba was damaged most heavily. Perhaps more damage was done to the knight's pride than his physical being. In any event, later that night at the hotsprings Kiba discovered Xenovia was nearby and off for the night. Deciding to start his training ASAP, Kiba asked Xenovia if she would be willing to have a session. Of course she agreed, with much teasing from Lilith and Lamia.
Kiba was clearly not in the right mightset, and demolished Xenovia. He then took off to continue training on his own. The next day he was found by Lilith and was taken to her abode in the Agreas.
Xenovia is currently waiting for Lilith to bring Kiba back, anxiously trusting the Succubus to calm him down before he destroys her or himself in his asinine training. She was last seen with Misty Taw, a sacred gear holding human. Xenovia is curious.

After telling Rias what had happened the Gremory pair of Rias and Sirzechs went immediately to Underworld to check on Issei. The redheads did not find him there immediately, however, and were forced to force one of the committee members to fetch the Red Dragon Emperor. When they were all together the three went for a nice trip to Lilith Mall.
Meanwhile, after hearing of the events of the Ally with Kiba and Alex, Asia voted to go to Underworld to find Rias to ask her wisdom on the matter. Alex's brother Max decided to go, seeing this as an opportunity to learn about his lineage and to help his brother avenge a friend. Now they sit at House Gremory in the company of the lovely Grafia. With a brief visit from Nakamura, concerned for Rai's safety and sanctity as a human, the Gremory house is now more invested in the tournament than they'd previously bargained for.
