▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼
She twisted her hair together and draped it over her left shoulder, raising her small hand to fan her glistening face as she squinted at the crowd of people shuffling past her. There were people from all races of life here, punks, bohemians, preps, you name it. This was her first time at a festival this large, and the sheer number of people was overwhelming for her. Dropping her hand to her waist, she turns to glance into her tent, cringing at the unpacked bags she knew she would never actually get to. Now is the time to have fun, not be responsible, she thought to herself, smiling absentmindedly before, with a huff, turning and marching into the crowd of cheering young adults, trying her best to blend in. As she passed by others' tents, she noticed every one of them had coolers, filled to the brim with beverages and ice. <********>, she thought, how are you going to go to a festival in a desert and forget to pack liquids. She groaned out loud at her idiocy, making a mental note to check around for any one selling drinks for cheap. ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________ It was really hot, thankfully Avery was dressed in a pair or ripped jeans and a loose sleeveless tank. His hands found their way into his pockets, all he could feel were his lighter, wallet and an old buss pass he probably should have throen out three weeks ago but didn't. Oh burning man, it was always fun here, there were always the most crazy parties at night and everyone spent their time laughing, drinking and getting high off of anything they want to. At his first burning man Avery was takin from his friends by some girl he had just met, she was a little too strange so he didn't stay with her to long but it was still a fun adventure.
Continuing his pointless walk around the dessert area that the festival was being held at the male would kindly smile and wave at some people. He glanced over at a ground of four people all sitting in a circle, they each passed around a very long bong and were lighting up all the way around the circle. Laughing a little to himself Avery flinched as he felt himself bump into someone. Turning slightly he glanced down at the female he had crashed with. She had half her long hair dyed black and the other half a white blonde, she was actually kinda ho-... Wait a minute. Avery knew who this girl was, she was too farmiliar not to be "Lilly? Lilly White?" He asked arching his dark eyebrows in a confused expression. What the heck was she doing here? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________

▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ Tugging on her too short denim shorts, she glanced around, wondering if any one would step in to keep him back from her. Knowing this was a false hope she turned her hazel eyes to his, glaring as she said through gritted teeth "I'm here because I was supposed to meet some friends but by the time the cancelled on me my tent was already set up." She could feel herself sweating under her black t-shirt, the ridiculously low v-neck wasn't enough to keep her cool in this dry desert heat. Scoffing at his remark, she rolled her eyes. "Guess what moron, there's thousands of people here. I'm sure you'll get along just fine" her snide remark came out a little harsher than she meant, but she figured it had gotten the point across. As long as he kept to himself, she would do the same. Finally pulling the lighter out of her bag she sneered at him as she lit her cigarette, hoping that the smoke would shoo him away. Although she remembered when they had spent nights sitting on her roof, smoking a whole pack of cigarettes between them in just a few hours as they talked about all the cliche existential crap that teenagers think is edgy and deep. But none of that mattered any more. She knew he had hit girls, a friend of hers had whispered this fact to her in study hall one day, and that had made her terrified of him. More than anything though, she hated him. She had always thought he was a good person, he had always seemed so gentle, and she felt tricked, lied to when she had found out. She could never get past that sort of betrayal. ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________ Arching his eyebrows the twenty two year old shook his head slightly. "Whatever, I don't care about your friend problems. I also don't plan on being around you anyway." Before Avery could walk away from the annoying conversation a man with light blonde hair, a scruffy beard and dim brown eyes. He was kind of scrawny and seemed to be twitching a bit, in his hand he held metal handcuffs. "You'll both learn that fighting doesn't help anyone." He spoke in a very gravely and patchy tone. Flinching as the man grabbed onto his wrist Avery tried his best to pull away but before he knew it he was locked onto Lilly.
"Hey!" Avery called out after the man, but he was long gone, hidden in the crown of people. An annoyed grunt left the males lips as he turned towards Lilly looking her over. "Who the hell was that guy?" He asked, but she probably didn't even know herself, this place was crawling with weirdos. But now what? The two people that hated each other so much were now hand cuffed to each other with no way to free themselves.. God, he was supposed to have a good time here, not get stuck with some slut! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________

▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ Opening her mouth to respond to his snarky remarks, she was stopped as a strange man slapped handcuffs to her, connecting her to the one person she would rather die than have to deal with. She yanked her wrist hard, hoping they were a cheap metal that would break with a little exertion, giving no thought to any discomfort caused to Avery with each tug. "How the hell am I supposed to know who he was? It's not like I know every man I come in contact with" she huffed, still trying to yank the handcuffs off of her delicate wrist. Giving it a few more good tugs, finally she gave up, glancing at the man she hated the most that she now had to spend an entire festival attached to. "Where is your tent? Maybe you have something there we can pick the lock with" she grumbled, using her other hand to wipe the sweat glistening across her forehead. Why hadn't she thought to pack drinks? And why was this what she was so worried about right now? She could feel herself getting a little light headed, but brushed it off, blaming it on the stress of this awful handcuff situation. ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼

▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ She jumped at the feeling of his hand wrapping around her wrist, glaring into his eyes until he dropped it. "What exactly is that supposed to mean? You think I know every guy in the world? And I'm sorry that I seem to be the only one actually attempting to take these damn things off" she said coldly, allowing him to tug her towards his tent. God what a jerk, she thought to herself, narrowly avoiding knocking into the strangers streaming past them as they approached his tent. Tapping her foot and glancing around the tent at the clothes on the ground and his sleeping bag, she sighed impatiently as he opened his bag. "I might have a nail file in my tent, or maybe a sewing needle. We can go check there if you honestly can't find anything." She noticed his cooler and stared longingly at the sodas filling it up, the cans dripping with condensation. Before she could let desire get the best of her she yanked her wrist to pull him up and marched him out of the tent towards her own. "Leave it up to a girl to get us out of this mess." As they approached her tent she stopped in dismay. Her bags had been sitting right inside the flap, and she could see from here that if they were still there, they had at least been moved. Rushing toward the opening she tore open the flap, tumbling into her tent and landing on her knees, her eyes searching every inch until she could see her fears were confirmed: her bags were gone. ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________ Literally ignoring the females constant nags the blue eyed male continued to shuffle through his bag so far finding nothing of use to them. Soon after he felt a tug once more, quickly he lifted himself up and rolled his eyes. "Seriously I'm not a dog, you really got to stop pulling me." He commented before being dragged out of his tent and past the sand towards her tend. Reaching the tent Avery was pulled in, he bend over slightly as Lilly dropped to her knees, seemed like what she was looking for wasn't there. "You mean leave it to the girl to get her s**t stolen. A plus for you Ms. White seriously." He replied with a hint of attitude his voice.
Sliding his hand down her arm he grabbed her wrist and pulled her up, she had to be at least a head shorter then himself. "Listen, lets just go chill at my tent for a bit so we can figure out what to do.. Once we find out how to get out of these we can look for your bags." He offered, he still seemed slightly annoyed as he pulled her along with him out of the tent and back over to his. Sitting himself down near the cooler Avery kept his arm up, hopefully Lilly would choose to sit down too so he wouldn't have to hold his hand up. "Alright, so what other ways can we remove this stupid death trap?" He asked glancing up at her, squinting his eyes in the bright sun. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - xxxxxxxxxx ____________________

▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ With no energy to respond to his remarks, she stood and followed him out into the dry heat. As she was being tugged toward Averys' tent, she used her free hand to wipe away some stray tears. She had come here to have fun, and in a matter of half an hour everything was ruined. She could feel sand seeping into her boots as they approached his tent, causing more discomfort than the black leather boots had already committed against her poor feet, allowing herself to be shepherded in. As he settled onto the ground, she chose a spot near enough to him so their arms weren't stretched out, but far enough away that they couldn't touch at all. Crossing her legs she looked at him, pissed off that he had gotten her into this. She was just an innocent bystander and this was all his fault. If he had just pretended not to see her none of this would have happened. "We need to get this thing off like, now. What about a rock to smash the chain?" she stated, before remembering these weren't just measly plastic handcuffs, they were the real thing. Falling silent as she thought, she felt herself glancing back at his cooler again, licking her lips at the thought of cracking open a cold one and downing it. But again, she pushed the thought from her mind, instead looking to him. "What did you mean when you said you wouldn't be surprised if I knew every man I bumped into?" she said, so quietly it was almost a whisper. She had a feeling she already knew the answer, but she wanted to hear it from him. ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼ ▼
