"Let's do our best!" Zin said to the crobat who flew overhead.
"Cro!" Zyk replied. His voice was deeper than it had been as a zubat, and his body was much larger and stronger. He was always eager to show off what he could do now that he'd evolved.
They took their places in the podium and on the field, and waited for the battle to start.

Zinnia blinked at the warbling tentacruel. That was a sight one didn't see every day. But now was the time to be a trainer, not a researcher.
"Zyk, use Zen Headbutt!" she said.
The crobat dove headfirst toward the gelatinous mass that was his opponent's head.

Menkar shivered as the pulses of the Zen Headbutt coursed through his body. Burbling, he shot out multiple rings of Water at the Crobat by using Water Pulse.

"Aim for the gems!" Zin suggested.
Zyk was forced backward in the air by the force of the water pulse, and was quite thoroughly soaked, but he did as his trainer bid and aimed another headbutt, this time for one of Menkar's large, glittering jewels.

"Warble!" Menkar cried aloud when he felt the Zen Headbutt hit his vulnerable areas. He clutched his head with two tentacles and snuffled.
Cetus huffed. "Suck it up, Menkar! Use Hydro Pump!"
Menkar coughed up a large surge of water at the Crobat.

Zyk was knocked back again, and this time his wings felt so soaked that he struggled to remain airborne. He managed to half-swim, half-fly his way out of the worst of the blast, and dove for Menkar once again while the tentacruel was still busy executing his attack.

Menkar managed to slither his gelatinous mass of a body out of the way of the attack. He used Water Pulse again from the right side of the stadium field.

Zyk headbutted Menkar again. If this kept up much longer, he was going to suffer from a headache.

Menkar shook off the contact the sudden head-on-head collision again. Dizziness was beginning to set in. He then fired another Hydro Pump at the Crobat.

Zyk ducked below the worst of the torrential water, although he didn't think he could get any wetter. He was soaked to the bone. Nevertheless, he heeded Zinnia's command and headbutted Menkar again.

A concussion seemed imminent from all of these Zen Headbutts. Menkar warbled in displeasure at the Crobat. Wasn't it getting tired yet? To alleviate his problems, he used Hydro Pump again.

Zyk managed to dodge the hydro pump completely this time. The battle was growing a bit more predictable, and he was able to utilize his speed to the fullest.
"Zen Headbutt!" Zin shouted.
Yes, predictable. Zyk aimed for Menkar's bright red gems again.

Menkar clutched at his jewels again. He was getting mad. In his fury, he released a torrent of water via another Hydro Pump at his opponent.
