As hidey holes went, the rooftop of Orah's apartment was hardly stealth mode. But it was as far as Chariklo felt able to venture for the time being. Besides, there was no hint of Chaos in the area and if there had been, she'd have powered back down immediately.
But since there wasn't, she felt entirely justified in sitting on the roof and playing with the senshi phone she'd been given. Looks wise, it reminded her a lot of the phone she'd had in school. Slidey-out bits and impossibly tiny buttons and all. Still, it was a magic phone. She had a magic phone now, holy s**t. She had to admit that in many ways this was superior to the compact she'd had as a Dark Mirror. Easy access to information and contacts certainly helped. Of course, it wouldn't let her call Avacyn or Amytis, but well, baby steps she supposed.
With a small sigh, she set the phone down beside her and leaned back a little to watch the skyline.

Given all the stuff that had been happening lately, Liryn had ended up having to shelf his plans to come up with his own app for the senshi phones.
However today seemed quiet enough and with both Arian and Orah out, it had seemed as good a time as any to probably do some more reading of the print outs that he had had Arian get for him.
It was a nice enough day that he had decided to do his reading outside and given that the balcony was just a little too public, he had decided to opt for the roof.
It seemed however by the time he made it up, furry head poking out through the entrance up, that he was not the only one that had decided to spend time on the roof.
Arian and Orah both tried their best to avoid powering up in the vicinity of the apartment, although Liryn made no mention of it as he padded towards the senshi clad in in grey and white, his voice cheerful as he called out a greeting "Hi Chariklo."
After all Chariklo was only one senshi - if needs be he could aura block her - at least for a little bit.

Jumping a little before settling back with a breathy chuckle, Chariklo wondered if she'd ever stop being startled by the appearance of people in her vicinity. Eventually, she supposed. But it would take time. As as intruders went, Liryn was hardly objectionable. Giving the little cat a smile and wave, she courteously edged over a bit to give him room to sit if he wanted.
"Hey there, Liryn," she answered warmly. "What's new?"
Scooping her phone back up, she decided that she'd play with it more later. For now she was curious to hear whatever the guardian cat was willing to share with her. Another thing to get used to, she thought. A furball willing to talk to me.

"Nothing much" Liryn said cheerfully as he finished padding over towards Chariklo.
He brushed against her legs before taking her up on her silent offer by jumping up into the space that she'd made, his purplish eyes as cheerful as his voice as he admitted "I've been trying to think up a new app for the senshi phones."
He paused for a moment before continuing "Well for the smart phone version of the senshi phones - Ash and ********* came up with them and they're really neat - so much sleeker than the original version."
He paused again as a thought occurred to him "By the way do you have a senshi phone? Because I can sort one out for you if you don't - I'll make sure it's the latest version too."
Because the smart phones really were sooo much better.DaisyMilk Liryn is a total convert to the smart phone wink Btw I'm going on the assumption that Liryn didn't give Chari the original senshi phone, but can totally tweak if needs be :3

Smiling a bit at the gentle brush of his fur against her leg, Chariklo waited patiently for the small cat to get settled and then, feeling greatly daring, reached out to gently skritch behind his ears. That simple act reminded of her just how much she missed her dog, and she set part of her mind to work on getting her dog and her stuff moved safely.
Though at his mention of a new app and that there were apparently two versions of the phone she'd been given, she blinked and reached for the phone she'd politely stowed away.
"Funny you mentioning it," she said, equally cheerful. "This thing is why I was up here in the first place. Been trying to figure it out. I don't remember a lot of what happened that night, too tired, I guess. But i know at one point coming back here, there was a cat who gave this thing to me."
Tired, guilty, elated, her emotions had run a ******** gamut. It couldn't have been any surprise that she couldn't exactly recall which furball had popped up and dropped the phone at her feet.
"I would love to have something a little less, uhh... clunky. It's been a while since I've used anything other than a smartphone. I'm out of practice."
Grinning a little, she held out the phone, wondering how Liryn was going to be able to upgrade it for her.

"I can help you with that" Liryn said cheerfully, adding as clarification "Figuring out the functions that is."
Taking the offered phone he jumped down and carefully set it down before backing up a bit knowing that he'd need a bit of space.
"At least once I finish the upgrade I can" he continued before launching into a backflip, something clattering down to land on the rooftop as he landed.
Further inspection would show it to be a phone of a newer model to the one that Chariklo had offered over, but Liryn wasn't finished with it yet as he used his paws to carefully prise off the back of first the new phone and then the soon to be former phone.
That done he looked around in the phone that Chariklo had handed him for the part that Ash had shown him on the night of the Black Watch founding and carefully extracted it, slotting it into place in her new phone before snapping everything back into place.
Then with all that done he vanished the remains of Chariklo's now former phone into his subspace pocket and then carefully took up her new smart phone, hopping up back into place before offering the phone over.

"Great, but how..." Chariklo started to question how a cat could fix a phone and felt the words stick in her throat as Liryn did his backflip and somehow summoned another phone out of the ether. Staring between the cat and the new phone with her jaw slightly dropped, she wasn't sure if she should laugh at the ridiculousness or be impressed.
She went with impressed.
"Well, that's a neat trick," she managed as she watched him fiddle with both phones. Once her old phone was gone and Liryn was back to his spot, she slowly reached out and took the new phone.
"I am not even going to ask how you did that or what you did," she said with a weak chuckle. "I'm sure it'd only confuse me and make my head hurt. But thank you, that was pretty awesome to watch. So," she continued as she slowly turned the phone about in her hands, studying it, "how do I use this thing for senshi stuff?"

Most of Liryn's focus had been pretty much on sorting out Chariklo's upgrade and so he hadn't noticed her reaction to his phone-producing backflip, although even if he had noticed he probably would have been matter-of-fact about it.
He waited until she had taken the phone before speaking, his voice cheerful as ever "Well this phone is a smartphone so the function keys from the previous version have all been replaced by apps" he started, pausing for a moment before continuing
"This phone can do everything that the previous phone can - so you can scan for power signals including Negaverse ones and it has a range of" he paused for a moment as he thought it over "A range of around half a mile or so and you can also scan senshi and order mauvians into your contacts as well as take pictures and access the senshi primer and the Negaverse database - although that last one is super out of date"
He paused again for another moment before adding "You can also use it to visit your home world as well as the Moon without having to use a Moon pearl, although with the Moon you can only go there on the day of the full Moon and the days immediately either side of it."
He paused briefly again before continuing "And you can also use it to call or text other senshi and you can call us too. If you power the phone on - I can point out the apps for you if you want, although most of them are probably self-explanatory."
He thought about it for a moment and added "Oh and there's a neat little distress app that you can download from settings that the other phone didn't have that Ash came up with."DaisyMilk sorry to take so long with this Sinny. I should hopefully have a tag for our other rp too relatively soonish <3

Blinking a little at the out-pouring of information, Chariklo thumbed the phone on and sat staring at the screen for a moment. She had no idea what a 'moon pearl' even was and the knowledge that going to the actual moon was an option was decidedly startling. Still, it was information that she filed away for later.
"Okay, buddy, walk me through some of these. This works just like any other android or iphone then? How do we get new apps if we need them?"
Not that she expected to need more than the basics. And she doubted that she could use this phone to play Angry Birds, but the questions brought a bit of normalcy to what was happening that she badly needed.

"Pretty much" Liryn said cheerfully "Although it's much neater than an android or iphone" and perhaps he was being biased but he didn't care - because your run of the mill android or iphone couldn't do things like space travel.
"Function-wise the blue app with the person thing is the 'contacts' feature and if you had any contacts on your previous phone then you'll find that they've been copied over so you won't have to re-add them. The green app with the speech bubble is the messaging function and grey-black app with the camera is the camera..." Liryn didn't particular linger on any of the three particular apps as he figured that their function were pretty self-evident, although he did pause for a moment to see if Chariklo had any questions.
"The orange app with the location signal is the GPS that can scan for power signals including Negaverse ones" he thought it over before adding "And as I said earlier I think it has a range of around half a mile or so" before continuing "The blue app with the book is the senshi primer, which was created by a senshi called Kallichore and has information on quite a few topics written by Kallichore and other senshi." He thought about it some more and added "And also Ash may have written some stuff in it too." He paused again for a little longer this time.
"The red app is the Negaverse database, the purple app with the star is the one that will let you travel to your homeworld and the dark blue app with the crescent moon will let you travel to the Moon" he paused again briefly before adding "And the final one - the grey one with the cog accesses the settings and that's where you download any new updates. There's actually a new app that can be downloaded from there which is a distress call app." xDaisyMilk one phone info-dump coming up cat_wink
