Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is a place where many people from around Rio de Janiero come and cool off. With its relatively clean beach and year round fishing, it has become one of the shining stars in the bleak, metal city. Apart from the beauty of the Lagoon's landscape, visitors can enjoy parks, sports courts, trails for walks and jogging, a bicycle track, playgrounds for children, cycling boats and a gourmet area paved with stalls offering typical dishes from many countries. At night, performances of local artists –mainly groups of samba or bossa nova singers- are exposed at the Lagoon.
