==WELCOME==This is a panel dedicated to the NPCs who call Dref Dur their home. A short introduction to Dref Dur:Dref Dur is a floating city that occupies the airspace above the mountains north of Durem. The city itself is not located on the world map, but it has been featured in the Airship Saga portian of the Gaia manga and the Neverland RIG. An island held aloft by the Casimir tree at its core, the main way to reach it is through the use of airships. The city posesses a history of more than 1000 years, a culturally diverse population, and a reputation for being one of the most dangerous and notorious places in all of Gaia. Shady characters and practices abound in this city, which makes it the perfect place to find trouble. Why would we want to know about NPCs from a place like that?[Insert response] Announcements: Basic text posted. ==AIRSHIP SAGA NPCS (MANGA)==
A short introduction to the Airship Saga:
The Airship Saga is a part of the Gaian storyline that's centered around Gino Gambino, a young man who joined two ex-gods on their quest to get their godhood back. (Visit the GCA panel or read the manga chapters to find out more!)
Meili the Tiger:
A mysterious character even to the people of Dref Dur, Meili was actually one of the world's first gods--he's the eldest of five sons created by the goddess Gaia when the world was still young. When she left the development of life in their hands, Meili was tasked with guiding mankind.
As mankind became sentient, Meili created the Titans--godly embodiments of humanities' finest aspects such as empathy, creativity, and ambition. He also spoke in favour of laws that ensured consequences for immortals who inflicted unneeded suffering upon mortals. It's unclear when he came to settle in Dref Dur, but he had been there for at least 1000 years.
In his first appearance, Meili scared off a gang of thugs known as the Dref Dur Devils before they could rob a vulnerable Gino Gambino. He lead Gino to his house so that he could speak with the boy in a safe place as vampires hired by the Kuro Gang to kill them were roaming the streets looking for the both of them. At one point, they were almost assaulted by a group of them. But thanks to a timely distraction, the both of them made it safely to Meili's house. However, it was there that they were attacked by the infamous vampire assassin, Zhivago.
When it was clear that Zhivago would not accept a peaceful resolution, Meili changed into his god form--a tiger--and fought to keep Zhivago away from Gino. He died after jumping in front of the boy to save him from Zhivago's killing shot.
Dref Dur Devils:
A gang of thugs consisting of Creepo Marv, Halligan, and Boss Mikhail. This terrible trio were the first inhabitants of Dref Dur to accost Gino during his brief visit to the city. They would have suceeded in forcibly stripping Gino of all his valuables, had they not been interrupted by Meili.
Later, when Meili and Gino were about to be ganged up on by a mob of vampires, someone (Nicolae) loudly pointed out that one of the vampires had a knife handle made of gold. This caught the attention of the Dref Dur residents nearby, and among them were the Dref Dur Devils. The vampires lashed out at the sudden hostility around them but instead of backing off, the trio took up the challenge, and so the two factions began to fight each other. It was thanks to these three and others like them that Meili and Gino were able to successfully slip away unscathed to Meili's house. Apparently the fight was still going when Marius, Sen, and Ladyhands drove their airship into the city to pick up Gino and Edmund.
After hours, Mikhail is known to frequent bars.

==NEVERLAND NPCS (RIG)==
A short introduction to Neverland:
A well known bedtime story set in Dref Dur. It was apparently written by Wendy, the main heroine of the book itself.
You can read the story [here]. [How the RIG worked.]
Known readers of the story are Ivan, Cygnus, and Jet.
---
Peter:
The boy who refused to grow up. In a time before the RIG's story began, a Casimir seed became his first stolen prize.[1] He founded the Lost Boys and together they comitted petty crimes that drew the ire of Hook, the pirate who ruled over the majority of Dref Dur's crimanal activity. Peter eventually got into a duel with him, and he managed to cut off the man's left hand and feed it to a dragon.
At the start of the RIG story, he met a Duremite girl named Wendy when a fight with his own shadow brought him into her bedroom. Wendy sewed his shadow back onto him, but didn't seem happy afterwards. After learning og the reason behind her sadness, Peter offered to take her to a magical floating island where she could read stories to him and the Lost Boys, and where she wouldn't have to grow up.
Wendy accepted, and Peter gave her a Casimir seed so that she could fly with him. The two of them made it to Dref Dur together with Tink--Peter's right hand girl and sole female member of the Lost Boys--after a brief encounter with Hook. At their hideout, Peter and the rest of the gang welcomed Wendy into their ranks. She learned to care for them by treating their wounds and reading them stories. She was even teaching Peter how to read. The Lost Boys adored her, and she also came to love them in turn.
One night, they asked Wendy to tell them a story about Gaia. Unlike the other ones she had been telling them until then, she made up her own story and it a story of home. The other Lost Boys cheered, but Peter sensed that Wendy was going to leave them for the home she was starting to miss. Worried and upset, he left the hideout in a huff.
But when he returned, he found everybody gone and the place ravaged. Peter was overcome with guilt from having left them by themselves and losing Wendy. It was then that he remembered the medicine Wendy had wanted him to take before he left, but didn't because of his anger. Peter decided to drink it then, but unbeknowest to him, it had been poisoned...
The question of whether Peter drank the poison or not was never addressed in the RIG story, but what happened afterwards was that he and Tink raided Hook's ship to rescue the Lost Boys and Wendy. While Tink took Wendy to safety, Peter engaged the furious pirate in a fight.
As the fight grew more intense, Peter and Hook eventually found themselves battling on the riggings of the airship. Suddenly, the dragon that Peter fed Hook's hand to appeared. It grabbed Hook with its claws, and the two of them disappeared under the clouds from whence they never returned.
With Hook gone, the Lost Boys became the victors of the feud that had went on between them. It also meant that Wendy would be able to return home.
The last we hear of Peter are through what were Wendy's last words to him:
"Peter. You won't forget me, will you?" [2]

The Lost Boys:
A gang of children that were recruited by Peter after he rescued them from their old lives and took them to the floating city. They spent their days surviving the mean streets of Dref Dur and made a living as small time criminals. They all shared the secret of flight using Casimir seeds.

--------------------------------------
Hook:
Hook was a feared air pirate who controlled most of the crime on Dref Dur. For that feat, Hook also came to be known as the 'King of Thieves' [1]. He might have came across as a dignified and well studied individual, but his refined demeanor did nothing to hide his ruthlessness or his tenacity.
Before the RIG story, Hook was at odds with Peter and the Lost Boys; Hook saw the crimes comitted by the Lost Boys as 'classless', and it's likely that their non-compliance with Hook was a factor as well. At some point, Peter and Hook were in a duel that ended with Peter cutting off Hook's left hand and feeding it to a dragon called Cartier. Hook had since had an ornate hook where his left hand should have been.
In the RIG story, Hook spotted Peter as he was bringing Wendy to the floating island. He had a cannon fire at them once, but Peter managed to help Wendy dodge it. The children managed to reach the city before he could fire a second shot.
Eventually Hook was able to find the Lost Boy's hideout while Peter wasn't there. Hook used the oppurtunity to ravage the place and kidnap Wendy and the Lost Boys. But when Peter couldn't be found there, Hook poisoned the medicine Wendy left out for Peter and left with his captives.
The next time we see Hook, he was alone together with a tied up Wendy in his quarters. He wasted no time in telling her that Peter was a cocky, irritating youth, and that she would be better off forgetting him. Hook then offered her adventure, knowledge, all that he could steal, and a respected position on his crew.
It was then that Peter and Tink attacked Hook's ship to save their friends. Tink took Wendy to safety while Peter engaged Hook in what would be their final fight against each other. As they were crossing blades on top of the ship's rigging, the sound of a ticking clock fell upon their battle to signify the appearance of Cartier, who had developed a taste for Hook's flesh.
Cartier grabbed Hook with its claws, but the pirate put up a fight. The two began to wage a fierce battle against each other as they sank under the cover of the clouds, never to return. Some say that the two of them fought until Cartier, fatigued, landed somewhere on Gaia. The two of them apparently continue to hunt each other till this day.

==DISCUSSION TOPICS==
(Thanks Ann!) + If one of the Dref Dur Devils can date you, which one will you choose and why? + Would you live in Dref Dur given the chance? How many "NPCs" will you "discover", and what's their role? + The fortune teller lady in Stranger Danger looks like that old lady in the corner. Do you think they're the same people? If so, why is she here? If not, why so, other than you're not 100% sure it's her?
North of Dref Dur is a ruined city where Hephaes dwells. The buildings appear to be a mix of ancient and modern structures. Did a disaster strike this city that was ahead of its time? What do you think the story behind it all is?
