Betrothal

She stared up at the scene around them, the beauty of the land. It was magnificent, purely striking and awe-inspiring. But it marked an end. An end to darkness, an end to the struggle of before..at least for now. Her hands came up to cover her mouth as she sank to her knees with a great feeling of relief. It was over. She survived..

Wait, she had seen him right before..!

She stood, eyes wide and hands lowering. "My love," she whispered, and then turned in every direction in search of the love of her life, her everything. Please still be okay..

Tying the Knot

Na'ima stood before her mirror and looked upon herself, both elated and terrified by the garment she was wearing and the things it meant. It was a beautiful pale blue colored dress, possibly the most beautiful she had ever worn, made with the finest cloths she could find and made special for this occasion. It was long and dragged on the floor, much to her usual preference, with sleeves that split open at the elbow and also dragged to the floor. There was a cloak to match, one with a large hood she currently left down around her shoulders so she could look at herself.

We're getting married, she thought to herself in disbelief. He had kept to his word. He had given her four months exactly as she had asked for, no more, no less. They were getting married tonight, and she was so excited she felt faint. Was this truly happening? It had to be, Wrath had been lovingly hounding her about it for four long, long months.

Na'ima didn't have trouble planning the ceremony itself, she preferred intimate affairs and Wrath respected her desire for privacy, and he understood it was not out of any manner of shame but simply how she operated. It was not as if she had kept their betrothal a secret, she simply preferred the idea of a small and memorable ceremony over a loud, extravagant gala of an event. Na'ima had never been one for making a spectacle of herself.

Finally she pulled up her hood and picked up her bouquet, taking a deep breath as she made her way out the door and to the meeting spot she trusted Wrath had prepared for their wedding ceremony.

Betrothal

Somewhere near the end, in all the chaos that had ensued, he had lost her again. he had found her, had seen her face, and then, with all the movement, with all that occurred, with all the confusion, with Merlin and The Great King and the Lady and the gate and with Camelot sinking, sinking and gone, he had simply lost sight of her.

But she had been there, and she was alive, he knew she must be, because she had not been the one meant to die, he had been, and he was alive.

So that meant that they were both alive, and it was over, the world around them like something fresh and new.

And that also meant that....

"Na'ima!" He called her name, bellowed it over the cheers, the chatter, the cries of those who lost loved ones to Merlin and the Other World, and the quiet, tired murmurs.

Where was she? She had to be here somewhere.

"Na'ima!!" He called again.

Betrothal

There it was. Her name rang out over the crowds, his voice calling out for her and luring her to him. Na'ima shoved past others and ducked around the crowd in search of Wrath. He had survived, he hadn't perished as it had been said he would as a Great Knight. Her Wrath, her wonderful man.

There he was!

"Wrath!" Na'ima called out as she ran toward him, reaching out for the large man until she was able to throw herself against him. She didn't care that she had just slammed her body against his harsh armor. It was Wrath. She found him. He was okay. "My love," she breathed out, relieved. "Wrath. I'm here. Right here. I'll always be here. My Wrath. I'm here." She kept saying it over and over again, clinging to him.

Tying the Knot

Four months he had given her gentle reminders. Four months where most betrothals ended in marriage much sooner. He had not exactly minded the wait, however, but rather had only enjoyed the thought of them becoming joined in holy matrimony too much to keep his mouth shut about it. He had murmured the promises he would make to her as her husband as she fell asleep in his arms each night, would proclaim his love for her and tell her "This is why I am marrying you" whenever she did something cunning or even the slightest bit remarkable to him, which was, pretty much, all of the time.

But now the day of the wedding had arrived, and Wrath was a nervous wreck.

He had spent the night before completely sleepless, separated from his love by tradition and despising every moment of it. In the morning he had made sure that his hair and beard both were carefully combed out, the former tied back from his face in a (very manly!) braid, and the latter smoothed and tied twice as well. His clothes were of the finest quality he possessed, black, as he often wore, though with blue accents instead of red, an attempt at matching his bride to be.

In the late hours of the morning, he waited in the area that the ceremony was to be held, making sure that everything was as perfect as it should be. in a beautiful, lush green clearing lined with trees in blossom, overlooking a stunning, blue lake in the distance. He greeted the few friends that had been invited, and all too soon, but not nearly soon enough, found himself waiting for his love to arrive.

That was when the nerves began to kick in, as he stood idle, with nothing to do but wait, and overthink. What if she changed her mind? What if this was all too much for her, even with such a small and private affair, and she did not show? He fidgeted, his fingers twitching at his sides as he kept his back turned towards the area she would be to arrive from, another tradition, so that he would not see her until she reached his side.

It was agonizing. It was maddening. It was....

Actually a little nauseating as he soon began to feel sick from unfounded worries.

Betrothal

Ah, there! He heard her voice a split second before he caught sight of her beautiful face, and he began to move towards her, with long strides, pushing past those in the way as if they did not even exist, because to him they didn't.

There was only her. There would always only be her, to him. She was the one that mattered most.

When she threw herself against him, he caught her with a laugh, arms wrapping around her, lifting her up off of the ground, his cheek pressing against hers as he brought his face down towards her.

"We are here." His voice a quiet rumble. "We are here, my Na'ima, together. And I would not have it any other way."

Betrothal

He lifted her and she laughed loudly at his antics, kicking her legs with her excitement and clinging to him so she wouldn't fall. She was in his arms where she belonged, where she wanted to be. Her Wrath, her love, her everything. "You're alive," she said as she turned her face into his cheek, nuzzling into his beard. There truly had been a moment where she feared his death would come, she was so glad he was alive.

"Together. We'll never be apart again." Na'ima remembered her promise, oh yes.

Tying the Knot

There it was. All the reminders, all the promises, every whisper and every proud announcement..he was standing right there. No one had noticed her yet, she stopped just short of the small gathering and for a moment she forgot how to breathe. A hand released her flowers to press against her stomach, resting on the slight swell of her belly that had begun to show itself during the time of her preparing herself for this morning. The woman was already so slight that any change in her figure was obvious, but she had kept it hidden by manner of changing the silhouette of her dresses if only to keep up appearances for their wedding day; as far as she was aware, only she and Wrath knew the truth of her condition. It was bliss. But nerves kicked in, and then nausea. Golden amber eyes closed tightly, she counted silently in her head, breathed, and waited for it to go away.

Slowly she opened her eyes again, and the scene before her had not changed. Everyone's backs were still to her, Wrath's included. She smiled at the sight. He was probably more terrified than she was just waiting for her to show up, the unknown driving him madder and madder with every passing second. Oh, Wrath. You patient man. Poor thing, waiting for her.

Well, let's not keep him waiting much longer.

Taking hold of her flowers again, Na'ima raised her chin and finally set forth to make her way toward Wrath and those gathered to witness their union. She passed between them with an excited, confident stride, stopping only when she was beside Wrath. The first thing she wanted to do was touch him but she refrained, but Na'ima did immediately look up at the man beside her with an adoring smile. I'm here, we're both here beside you. "Good morning," she whispered, grinning after she spoke.

"I remember everything now." He murmured into her hair, kissing the top of her head.

A pause.

"That ladies breasts were not that big."

Na'ima made a content sound as she nodded her head. Yes, she remembered as well, it made her much more eager to accept his proposal than before at the lake. She remembered everything, it was so relieving. "You kept your promise not to make a mess of things even with no memory of it," she teased with clear affection in her voice.

When he spoke up again she laughed. "They were twice the size of mine at least! And she had a tight corset on! They looked huge!" Grinning, she looked up at him again. "You don't by chance have a ring for me, mm? You could make one, I'd really like that."
