Coming down off of the mountains was just a breath in and of itself. The air was chilly, yes, but it didn’t have the bite of her home. Eije hadn’t been out of Zena for long, she found herself wandering between the icy mountains to the plains of Tale… But now, she found herself in the craggy and rather unwelcoming Sauti. It wasn’t too bad though, as she had found herself with a companion right of the bat; or rather, she was given him by her adopted brother.
Clutching to her back beneath her cowl was Namidu, a young sailscale… hopefully she didn’t look like a crippled old woman with a hunched back at this point, but Namidu was the reason she had ventured out this way. She knew that he had been raised in captivity, but she wanted to see if she could find other sailscales. He needed a friend, maybe a pen pal of sorts. The thought made her grin and she took a glance around. Could this place be any more dead? Where were all of the other creatures? But a flicker of moment caught her eye, closer to the flat-ish land. Well, looks like there was life out here! Without a second thought, she waved towards the other earthling. The moment earned her some surprised claws in her back though.

As the figure got closer, she noted that it was a male… and a friendly one at that. She had to smile at that, lately everyone had been pretty antisocial. It must have been a prerequisite to live in this area. “Why thank you, Thorn. I’m Eije and this is Namidu,” she said as she motioned to her familiar. Namidu stuck his head out of her cowl, curious at the earthling as he released his grip on his owner. “Yes, he’s less than a year old.”
Eije gave a soft laugh, not in a mean way, just amused “It’s a nice chill though.” Growing up in Zena, this was comparable to a mid-summer day. “What brings you to the mountains?”

He seemed like a nice guy that was for sure. She wasn’t quite sure what he was, profession wise, but it didn't matter much to her. “That’s so sweet of you. I’m actually seeing if I can find some other sailscales. Namidu needs a friend while I train.” She wasn’t much of a beast charmer, but maybe the temptation of a friend might encourage one to come with them.
She gave a loving scratch to the scalescale, as she shook her head. “From what I’ve been told, he was bought on the black market and raised in captivity. But he’s had at least five owners, so the abandonment has caused him to have severe separation anxiety.” The poor boy was fine as long as he was attached to her, but if she left his sight, he would pace and cry… left inside, everything would be in tatters.
Namidu was hesitant for a moment as the male offered his hand, but sensing no danger, he sniffed it and nosed him gently.

“I actually wouldn’t mind at all.” It might take two people, hopefully they would both find what they were looking for. As long as her boy found a friend, she would happily help Thorn find one for his own. Hooligans though? That would be interesting.
Before she could answer the question, Namidu quickly snatched up the piece of dried meat from the man’s hand, chomping happily. Eije covered her mouth to keep from laughing, but the giggles came through nonetheless. “Well, I was going to say yes, but I guess it doesn’t matter now! Someone’s a greedy baby.” She tried to give a serious, scolding tone towards her sailscale, but the giggles still persisted even with the previous seriousness.
Taking a breath to steady herself, she tried to get the last of the giggles out of her system. “Well, I’ll be happy to tell you what I know, though I’m still learning myself.”

As Namidu finished snacking, he gave another quick look for more of the delicious meat. His eyes nearly begged for another piece. With a smile, she poked the sailscale on the nose, “Oh no you don’t. Don’t ask for seconds when you stole firsts.” Bringing her attention back to the man, she nodded. “I’d be happy to share and that sounds like a plan!” She didn’t mind having a companion on her misadventure, especially if he would find himself a companion.
She squinted at the direction he pointed, following after him without a second thought. “Seems it, but from what I was told, they’re very social and like to be on the crags.” With a soft snap of her fingers, she held her arm out as they walked, letting Nami come farther out. Being so young, it was easy for him to still move onto her arm, though if he kept eating like that, it would turn into a problem. Her heart ached for her familiar; he was so smart, but he was thrown away so easily… “They’re very agile little reptiles, so I was hoping that bringing Namidu would help lure them in, so to speak.”

"That sounds good to me, as long as I don't have to go up the cliff I think it will be okay, I'm not exactly a mountaineer yet, still used to the flat fields of Tale." He picked up a foot and waggled it at her. He smiled at the sailscale, "Well I hope your plan works, he is cute maybe someone will come and try to adopt him, I don't think he would leave though, hes pretty attatched to you." He knew the feeling, he was quite attached to his Ime.
"Maybe if you could ask him to sing they would follow the noise?" He looked at the nearest cliff, trying to make out the figures of sailscales perched upon it.

Duke Edward Drake (Think Jurassic Park dino's noises! ;D)
Eije gave a small laugh, “But mountain climbing is good for you!” Coming from the mountains herself, these craggy cliffs actually didn’t seem that intimidating, but she would stick to the ground for the man’s sake. “I doubt you’ll have to climb too much. I’m sure that your jerky will come in handy if Namidu didn’t eat it all.” A bit of bribery never hurt when it came to animals.
She shook her head, “Well, he won’t be adopted if I have anything to say about it. He’s pretty spoiled and probably wouldn’t last a week.” As sad as it sounded, he probably wouldn’t be accepted anyways, he was 100 percent raised in captivity; who knew if the others would even accept him into their group. But she did like the sound of his plan, and as they slowly approached the cliffs, she scratched the sailscale’s head, “Would you like to sing a song for them, Nami? We'll give you a nice treat if you can bring some down for a visit!”
With a small purr, he gave a happy growl and something of a guttural caw. That was, err, singing, right?

Duke Edward Drake Sorry for the poke! ;; <3 “You’ll learn to love it,” she said with a playful grin. Nami gave a happy chortle at the praise, beating his wings playfully as he latched on tighter with his back feet. Just what Eije needed, pierced skin, but she was slowly getting used to it.
Watching in amusement, she watched some sailscales hop and scurry along the rock face. They were fascinating little creatures, she knew that for sure. “I’m thinking they’ll visit, the braver few coming close to see if our little stranger is a threat.” Though she wasn’t sure if they would consider the two of them more of a threat than Nami.
With little hesitation, Nami hopped onto his owner’s arm, returning the cries with those of his own. “Seems it. Interaction is good, right?” she said to Thorn as she supported her arm. The calls increased as the two returned them, appearing more curious at the strangers. “I’m not sure if I should approach just yet. Should we wait for them to meet in the middle?”
