So, your Nightmare wants kids! Fantastic! Lucky for your Nightmare, the process is relatively quick, painless (usually), and easy! You can find all the information you need to know pertaining to breedings in this forum, ranging from in-character information to out-of-character information!

The Asphodel Cache: Located in Asphodel is a six story building that holds all the stones found in the Great Cache. It serves two purposes: identifying the stones from the Great Cache, and awakening them so they may be sent to the academy. The building is closed off to the public, however it does allow field-trips for those in the academy.
Once the stones are awakened they are sent to the academy nursery until they are old enough to attend classes.
Orphanages: Should a Nightmare decide they no longer want the infant or freshling they created, they have the option to return it to the orphanage of their city. Some Nightmare's only seek to imbue stones and have no desire to parent, and these stones are also immediately sent to the orphanage. Nightmares can adopt a child should they wish.
Stone Banks: Every major city has a small stone bank that carries blank stones. Should a Nightmare or group of Nightmares wish, they can purchase a stone to imbue. Once they've imbued the stone(s) they can choose to take the stone(s) home, or return it to the bank for them to send to the orphanage.

Imbuing Stones: Imbuing stones can be a tricky process for everyone involved. As little as one Nightmare can imbue a stone, and as many as three Nightmares can imbue three stones. Imbuing requires magic, and plenty of it. Only those who are on the senior base can imbue stones, as they're the only stage that have enough magical energy to imbue a stone!
The number of stones a Nightmare can imbue varies depending on how many partners they have. One Nightmare can only imbue one stone during a sitting. Two Nightmares can imbue two stones with ease, however imbuing a third stone puts them dangerously close to draining their energy completely. Three Nightmares can imbue three stones and no more, as even with a third partner it still saps rapidly at their energy.
The maximum number of Nightmares who can imbue stones together is three. Those who are in a polyamorous relationship with more then three partners cannot have their fourth or more partner to imbue a stone, as that amount of individual magic would destroy the stone all-together! The stones are fairly delicate and can only handle so much magic from so many people!
Awakening: Once a stone or group of stones have been imbued you still need to awaken them. Theoretically, you could imbue a stone and never awaken it, but would would want to do that? The stone needs a week to rest and fully absorb the magic given to it before you can awaken it and receive your precious baby. Once the week is up, all you need to do is either have one of the original Nightmares who imbued it to touch the stone, or have someone not related to the stone entirely to use magic to force the stone to awaken. Once you do it'll transform into a cute little infant!
Twins: Sometimes things get wonky when imbuing stones and the stone can take to the magic differently then it should. When this happens twins are formed. It's impossible for anyone to discover they have twins until the stones have awakened, and as thus are always a surprise! Twins typically look identical in nature, but can vary in race or gender.
Limits: After the exciting process of imbuing a stone a Nightmare is exhausted. Even the more magically inclined races feel fatigue after such an effort! Their magic can be weak for a few weeks after, and won't return to full energy for two months. This means they cannot imbue stones until the two months have passed!

Age: Every Nightmare participating in a breeding must have been a senior for exactly 30 days (from growth drop or from cert date) before entering into breedings and have graduated academy. Nightmares need time to adjust to their new magical limits before they can begin breeding, and anyone younger then a senior just does not have enough magic to imbue a stone completely.
Number of Stones: One Nightmare can produce only one stone. Two Nightmares can produce two stones minimum, but can also produce a third one if they've reached the RP requirements found here. Three Nightmares can produce only three stones.
Owners per Stone: One owner may only take one stone per breeding. If the owner owns both or all characters who are breeding, they must give the remaining stones away. The customer may request less stones if they are not sure who to give a stone to.
Pricing: Each stone costs 4k plat. Therefor, if a breeding receives the max number of stones then it will come to 12k plat .
Growing Stones: Stones will not transform into an infant unless you've done two things: requested a cert for your stone and awakened the stone. Awakening is done a week after the stone has been dropped. Before you can receive your infant, you need to post an awakening post within this thread once the stone is certed. An awakening post consists of either the blood parent(s) of the stone touching the stone, or someone using a spell to start the awakening process. If the owner chooses the spell route, they may either use their own character or request a friend to use their character to open the stone! If you do not awaken the stone you can keep the stone as is for as long as you wish. Should you, for plot reasons, want the stone to not awaken for a few more weeks, simply either tell the colorist or ignore the awakening post and later quote the post when you're ready.
While you can post the awakening whenever you wish once your stones are certed (whether immediately after receiving your stone or waiting a few days), the awakening takes place in-character a week after imbueing (or later if your character waits! It still takes a week in-character for a stone to be able to awaken). We also will not post the infant until the week is up. The reason for this thread is so that a customer may post their awakening and not need to wait even longer in-case they are not online the day the stone is due to awaken.
The awakening thread can be found here.
Throwbacks: You may request a throwback only if the colorist leaves a section asking if you'd like a throwback on their form. A throwback allows the colorist to view previous generations and select traits to place on the new stone. In no way are colorists obligated to give you a throwback, even if you state you want them. Only those who are Gen 2 and + can ask for throwbacks, and you can only receive throwbacks up to the grandparents.
Proxies: You cannot proxy a couple for anyone else, or give your winning slot to someone else. You may ask to be re-rolled should you decide you rather not win a breeding.
Cool Down: Once a Nightmare breeds they cannot breed again for another 60 days. If you're unsure if your Nightmare is off cool down then please look here.
No Incest: Characters who are related cannot breed, as their magic is far too similar and will instead cause the imbuing to nullify.
Breeding Intents: Breeding is a conscious choice. Accidents do not happen. As a result, to qualify for a breeding you must create a roleplay where your Nightmare considers having children. It can be in any format you wish, and as long or short as you like, but it must be done and posted here for the Nightmare to breed. You can choose to make the RP a solo, or have them do their breeding intent RP with their partner in the breeding (if they have one!)
Breeding Permissions: Just because you have an intent doesn't mean you're ready! If your Nightmare is breeding with another Nightmare you must have posted in this here with the correct form!
Bribe Breedings: Bribe breedings are special and can allow for outcomes you wouldn't normally get. You can have one nightmare in the breeding but request three stones. You can even choose if you want the mystery parent(s) for the single nightmare breeding to all be different races for each stone. Nifty! Another special breeding type you can get through bribes is stone to senior. It is worth noting that all seniors from stone to senior breedings can only be Academy students and cannot be graduate. Everything else about them is normal, and you will have to fulfill their class requirements and wait 30 days before you can graduate them, just like regular seniors!
Monthly Wins: You may only win two breedings a month! The month starts over on the first day of the following month.

Outside of October, Mutant Nightmares and Daydreams are only obtainable through Breedings. Here is a guide to how Mutations are handled in Breedings:
Passing Mutations: Parents can only pass their mutations on to children, that means that no new mutations will appear through breedings. If a parent has multiple mutations (or there is more than one parent with mutations and those mutations differ) it is entirely up to the colorist to choose which mutations they want to pass on to the offspring.
Mutant x Mutant Breedings: When two mutants breed, their offspring have a 100% chance of having the mutation(s) pass on. It is entirely up to the colorist doing the breeding to choose which mutation(s) will pass on.
Mutant x Non-Mutant Breedings: Mutant x Non-Mutant breedings have a 1 in 30 chance of passing on the mutation(s). The colorist will RNG the result.
Mutant x Mutant x Non-Mutant Breedings: A triad with two Mutant parents and one Non-Mutant parent has a 1 in 20 chance of passing on the mutation(s). The colorist will RNG the result.
Mutant x Non-Mutant x Non-Mutant Breedings: A triad with one Mutant parent and two Non-Mutant parents has a 1 in 50 chance of passing on the mutation(s). The colorist will RNG the result.
Lessening the Chance of Passing Mutated Genes: If you have a Mutant x Mutant pairing, you may opt to have your chance for passing the mutation(s) on lessened to 50% if you so desire. You must state so in your breeding form, or the colorist will not know to RNG the chance. This is not applicable for pairings containing one or more Non-Mutant parents.

There are three major types of breeding slots that can be commonly found throughout the shop. While staff may create a special kind of breeding, the ones labeled above are the types of breedings you'll see in Nightmare Academy the most. Some breedings will mix certain slots together. Below is a guide to the slots and what they entail:
CC = Customers enter their breeding choices and at the end of the breeding the staff participating will choose breedings that appeal to them. RNG = Customers enter their breeding choices and at the end of the breeding the staff participating will role from a random number generator! Whoever the generator lands on is who wins a breeding slot! Mixer = Customers can enter single Nightmares into the event, and the staff participating will select Nightmares to pair up with other Nightmares at their own discretion.

Below you will find forms to enter your Nightmare into breedings. Please select the form that applies to you. Keep in mind that colorists may choose to create a new form for different types of breedings, and if they do you should always use the form they provide rather then the typical form that covers 95% of breedings.
