Camelot was glad to be able to patrol anywhere he wanted to now that he was able to walk around without much trouble. He had sort of forgotten what it was like, though, in his 'time off'.

Tonight was a good reminder.

Well maybe good was not the right word.

There were at least five youma around him, each one standing at about hip height to him. They were not the prettiest things he had ever seen, but of course, youma tended not to be all that pretty at the best of times. These looked like giant, naked moles or rats of some kind, with twisted arms of varying length, a short, stubby legs. They had vicious looking fangs that stuck out in random directions from their mouths.

All in all, Camelot was not a fan of them.

He had managed to chase them away from the civilians they had been attacking, but now, here in an alley, they surrounded him, and he had to dust them one at a time. It didn't seem like too difficult a task, but of course, Camelot knew better than to assume anything was going to be easy.

The sound of change jingled in his pocket as his fingers played idly over his share of the tips he had earned that day. It had not been particularly busy, but all the same, Gabriel had been working hard enough that his normally clean uniform now sported a few new stains.

He turned for the door, pulling out the deeply hidden keys and locking up. Closing Barista was hectic, but he took the responsibilities in stride. If nothing else, it meant he was moving up, rather than down, in the business and that was a comfort for him. He really needed to keep this job, he needed the money.

Once the door was secure, the dark haired man turned on his heel. He could heard the sound of commotion in the distance. 'What the hell?' He thought to himself as he walked down the street and of the main campus of Destiny City University, toward the more residential part of town. There were no celebrations planned, and at this time what sort of people would be out causing such a stir?

He continued his walk down the streets, biting ac family coming toward him at quite the fast pace. As they passed he heard mention of a fight, his eyes brightening for a moment as he thought it might be a good chance to look in on some of the hooligans of the neighborhood.

He reached one of the business strips, hearing sounds coming from the alley out back of one of the run of the mill restaurants. Well then, perhaps a cook had been canned? He moved to the alleys opening, he kneeling down behind one of the garbage cans, trying to get a grasp of what was going on.

Camelot did not notice the civilian that had made his way over until he was really too close for comfort. Only then did Camelot feel the pull, and he turned his head in the direction of the strange, silent call. It took him a moment to spot the young man crouching behind a trash can, not very well hidden but then again Camelot had a lot of practice in hunting things that were hiding from him.

Youma usually did not like to come out into the brightly lit areas, after all.

The five youma circling him were not collective bright, but their numbers certainly helped them accomplish whatever task they set out to do. And they had instincts to work on their side, which was why, when Gabriel got close enough, all five of them turned their head in his direction even as Camelot was doing so.

They smelled him, and he seemed far more delicious and a much easier target to them. None of that 'white moon aura' crap that tainted the one in all the armor. Plus, the only can openers they brought were their teeth, which worked much better on flesh and cloth.

Camelot, noticing their attention was drawn, moved to reclaim it by kicking one of the ones nearest to him so hard it almost splattered into dust as it slammed into the wall.

"I wouldn't hide right there!" he called to the young man, the strange sensation not letting up. He had a very strong urge to keep an eye on Gabriel, and, of course, to protect him. Something about him was important, and it was Camelot's duty to shield it. The youma did not seem to agree, two of them turning on Camelot after he kicked their friend, while the other two started toward Gabriel and the garbage can.

He had only been there for a short while, before he noticed that there was a hell of a lot more going on than a simple firing. Those gathered did not even seem to be human! Of course, Gabriel was no fool, and he knew they were doing wonders with movies nowadays, so, perhaps it was a practice set for a amateur film?

He leaned in closer, his hair trailing on the ground beneath him as his pale eyes hone over the scene before him. When he was quickly addressed by the man in armor, he blinked, sitting back and smirking. "I didn't mean to get in shot, I am sorry." There was the slightest bit of a blush to his cheeks, perhaps he had gotten in a bit over his head?

It was then that he noticed the two people "dressed" as monsters coming his way, he scooting back a bit before getting to his feet. He took up a defensive pose, hands out in front of him. "Hey, I said sorry, alright? I was only curious." He pushed a bit of hair back from his face as he took another step back. These guys didn't seem too hard to take on, but all the same, he did not really want to get into a fist fight with two grown adults. He did not do well with blood.

"Wanna call off the attack dogs, hm? I didn't mean to ruin the shot, ok? I will get the hell out, all you need to do is tell me to." He looked to the man at the back, he confused as to why he seemed to be just continuing the scene, rather than stopping his co-actors from intimidating him.

Camelot was very used to the way people justified the weird things they saw, and 'movie set' was probably one of the more reasonable ones, considering. It made a little more sense than 'I must be dreaming' or some of the other instant forms of denial others went through.

"Watch out!"

Camelot moved, ignoring the two youma nearest him. It was not like they could do much harm to him, considering his armor and his rank. They certainly wanted to, though, one clamping down on his leg and not letting go, even as Camelot ran, flailing through the air with each step but not relenting.

The other just chased after them, as Camelot ran by the last two and reached Gabriel's side before they did.

He called his shield to his hand, the massive, metallic, dragon emblazoned shield appearing from no where. He held it in front of the two of them, mostly in front of the civilian, shaking his head. "This is not a movie! You're in a lot of trouble. Those are youma, and I am a Knight, meant to stop them from hurting people like you."

He looked at Gabriel and realized why he was so willing to share that information, when usually he tried not to tell civilians about the war. That feeling. Now that he was closer, he felt it even stronger, and realized now what it was as a memory of Talfrid flashed through his mind. He had witnessed it, but did not realize it until then.

Potential. The Potential this civilian had to be a knight. He could feel it, and that was why his urge to protect him was so strong.

The three running youma leaped at them, one bouncing off the shield as it slammed into it, another biting onto the top edge of it and not letting go. The third managed to duck down and make a mad dash toward Gabriel while Camelot was busy with the others.

The fourth remained firmly connected to Camelot's leg. It's teeth might have gotten stuck in his armor.

Gabriel had managed to stumble back abit, as the larger man in armor came rushing at him. He stumbled, tripping on his shoes before going down. Hitting the ground hard and cursing rather loudly. He did not take pain well, at least when there was not any pleasure to go with it, and this sure as hell was not pleasure.

He glanced up at the knight as he explained what was going on. Gabriel a bit skeptical of it all, but in the end he nodded. A knight? Youma? He had never guessed that things like this existed, and yet, here they were in front of him. A battle to save his world, and they were fighting right before his eyes.

"Well s**t!" He moved as the one youma that was not attached to the knight, cam at him. He scooting back before kicking the ugly b*****d square in the face. He was not the violent type, but damn, he did not want to get his clothes more dirty, and that thing looked like it had been rolling in the mud.

He quickly made it to his feet, his eyes glancing at this man that was defending him. "So what the hell do I do? Knight or not, you are out numbered here, right?" He glanced around, looking up to where a fire escape seemed to drop down behind one of the buildings. "They any good at climbing?" He winked, rushing for the ladder and leaping up to grab it. It just seemed right to join in rather than run. Something in him told him he had to help this man.

"All I can tell you right now is if you see something strange, an item of some kind, pick it up. That is your destiny, and will awaken you to what all this seemingly crazy stuff really is."

He could not control when someone was awakened, unfortunately. He just knew that it was about to happen. The air was alive with the magic of it, and his senses tingled in a strange and hopeful way because of it. He knew, just knew, that a Page was going to be made that night, and he had no intention of letting that young man be hurt before he could be awakened.

The youma were mean, but nothing he could not handle. He could hold them off and dust them one by one, as long as was needed. Of course, he thought that to himself, and had to split his attention to follow the movements of all the youma.

He knew letting one slip by would mean incredible danger. Thankfully, the kid was quick on his feet and with his decisions, and made toward the fire escape. It was a good plan, though one of the youma followed him.

"Be careful, there's one on your tail!"

had to edit abit, sorry.

Something strange? As if that in and of itself was an uncommon thing in Destiny City. Odd things seemed to happen all the time. Normally, no one batted an eye, but now, as he climbed that fire escape, feeling that creature coming up behind him, Gabriel had to pay extra attention.

What sort of something was he looking for? Was there even something to find? He rolled into the rooftop, his hair blocking his view for but a moment. He gathered himself, rolling to his hands and knees before his fingers found something hard.

He blinked, pushing his hair away to reveal that which had fallen into his grasp. He didn't recall the being anything there before. The item in his hand was shining with an internal power, it radiating outward, almost caressing Gabriel with the light.

He lifted the item slowly, finding that it was, indeed, an antique pocket watch. He had had one as a child, but it was nothing like the one he now held in his hand. The golden lid was closed tightly, an elaborate pattern of ivy and small flowers covering the border and surrounding a stylized letter P. "Curious..."

he turned it over in his fingers before he gasped, the feeling of the creature's hand on his ankle drawing him back to reality. "Damnit! Um...there is a damn pocket watch up here! It looks old! There is also a nasty smelling creep gripping my leg!" He called down to the knight, trying to shake the wretched thing off of him.

He managed to drag his for away before falling back once more. Well damn if he wasn't a clutz today! He cursed and braced himself, ready for the creature to attack. What happened instead shocked him all the more.

He felt that light envelop him, it warm, soothing. He blinked once, shaking his head as he felt his clothing change. "The hell is this?" He looked down at himself, the youma seeming to have backed off for a time.

"That's it! Your weapon!" Camelot let out a laugh with his relief and a jolt of excitement moved through him. He felt the new aura as soon as the transformation began, looking up at the new Page from his place down on the floor.

"Don't be afraid. You've been awakened to power and duty, and your potential has allowed you to become a knight! Can you feel the strength in your body now? That youma should not pose much of a threat to you now: try out your new power! This is why you were given it: to dust these monsters and keep the city safe!"

Camelot was glad that the young man now had a way to defend himself, turning his own attention to the youma that were still on the ground level, using his shield to bash them into dust. Now that he was not as distracted by trying to defend a civilian, he could actually focus on getting rid of the little, annoying monsters.

"The hell..?" He laughed as the other told him of his destiny, told him he was to be a Knight. Well, that certainly changed things. "I guess my sister was not far off." He blinked as the youma came at him, it having gathered itself back together. He startled, swinging the pocket watch much like one would swing a mace, the metal connecting squarely with the side of the creature's head, sending it flying to the side. It was only moments later that Gabriel laneed a firm, if not unpracticed, kick, to the creature's chest, sending it swirling into dust beneath his feet.

"Well, that was new..." He looked down to where Camelot was still battling, he actually laying over the edge of the building. He was forever a Watcher, but he knew he could help him now. "Need a break down there?" He dangled his watch above Camelot's head, he smirking playfully as he reached back to grab a long, wooden board from the left over from what, he could only assume, was a recent patching project.

"I am guessing he don't do well with headaches!" He held the board in one hand, lowering it so he would be able to strike any of the beasties that came near.

Camelot watched the other knight as he finished off the youma that had been chasing him. It took him out of his own fight for a moment, but not long. The new Page made short work of the youma, and Camelot laughed at the offer of help, though not in a dismissive way.

"Oh, I think I can handle it," he said, getting a bit more serious about dusting the remaining little monsters. He used his shield to do the work for him, swinging the massive, dragon emblazoned metal shield and smashing the youma with relative ease as they came after him. Soon enough, there was nothing but dust left behind, drifting harmlessly down to the already rather dirty floor.

Camelot sighed, letting his shield vanish just because it could be cumbersome in conversation, and looked at the Page.

"Well, that was one of my more adventurous awakenings, I have to say. Are you alright? The youma didn't hurt you, did it? Ah, my name is Camelot, by the way, Royal Knight of Earth."

He offered the other a bow, then held out his hand in greeting.

"You did very well, considering it was your first time! It looks like you are a Page of Pluto, from your attire. But your name...? You'll know it. Not your civilian one, but the power that awakened in you tonight."

There was excitement in his eyes as he watched this experienced knight dust the remaining youma. It had been his intent from the start to simply watch the battle, so he did not complaining in the least. "You really are a buzz kill. If you could have taken them all, why did you wait?"

He rolled his eyes, leaping down from the roof, landing on all fours before looking up at Camelot. He righted himself, dusting off the deep green of his pants before speaking. "Pluto...? Like the planet?" He was very confused, though the other had introduced himself as an Earth knight, was this common?

"A Knight of Pluto..." he seemed to ponder the idea for a long time, his eyes closing, remembering the dream that had so often haunted him. He felt that warm, comforting feeling wash over him and then he heard it, "Nirvana...I am Nirvana of Pluto. It is a pleasure, and thank you for your guidance, Camelot." He grinned, fumbling his watch in his hand. "Even if you are a buzz kill..."

"Well, I was a little more focused on making sure they did not attack you, and I could feel you were on the verge of awakening. I suppose I was doing what I could to balance the fight and wait for you to become a knight. It can be a complicated situation, sometimes."

He laughed, shaking his head and pondering his own answer. It sounded dangerous, though he was sure he had things well in hand. Right?

Smiling and nodding his head, though he made a face at being called a buzz kill twice in so short a time.

"Nirvana. Welcome! And don't worry, you'll have plenty of chances to fight some youma, and many other enemies, I'm sure. There is a lot for you to learn. I'm all too happy to offer my service, of course. Uh."

Hopefully this kid was going to do most of his powered up patrolling at night. He was not very covered and seemed a little... well. The sun would not be friendly to him. Not that Camelot was much better off, when it came to summer. Metal armor and fuzzy cloaks were not very fun in the hot months.

There was a slight amusement in his eyes as he noted the other fumbling over something in his mind. Was he really that confusing? After all, was it not he that was suppose to be confused, and Camelot the one to answer his questions? "You almost seem to be at a loss, what is it?" His brows knit together for a moment in concern, was something wrong with him?

"Why me? I mean, it is interesting to know that I am not just a normal person, but..." he glanced down at his attire and then back at Camelot's own. "I don't really seem equipped for battle." Not that he was a fighter in the least. Sure, he would defend those he loved and cared for, but to go out of his way to protect those that might not deserve it? That was crazy.

"What does it mean to be a plutonian knight? And... why do I feel so comfortable in this skin? It feels like home, like common place, and I don't understand why." He had studied the occult for years, and nowner in his studies did it mention planetary knights. But this feeling, it was almost like deja vu.

"You'll grow stronger. You'll learn more. You are what we call a Page, the awakening level of power for any knight. You will, in time, grow strong enough to become a Squire, and after that a... well. A Knight. That bit's confusing, I know. But ultimately, more power will come to you."

He smiled, remembering with a certain amount of fondness when he was new, and had very many similar questions to the knew young Page before him. It was an almost universal thing to go through.

But that made sense, considering no one was ever really prepared to suddenly have powers and planets and a duty when they were just walking home or something.

"Pluto is your planet, where your Wonder draws its strength from. It grants you a specific kind of power, and you share that with others who represent the same planet. Your Wonder is there, as well, and that is a place you will learn to visit, and will hold a lot of information for you about who and what you may have been before. That's not the kind of thing I can answer for you, I'm afraid. But this was your destiny, and the potential to become this knight was always sleeping inside you. It just needed to know you were ready, that you were worthy. And you are."

He knew that a trip to his Wonder would help the new knight learn a lot more about why being powered up felt familiar or normal. At least, he hoped it would. For a long time, Camelot struggled to get the answers he needed from his Wonder. They came to him in time.
