Quote: You have met Lancelot before. He is the one that inspired you to become a knight. This is a past knight memory. It had been loud and chaotic, wooden swords swinging as all the boys played on the streets. Then a wave of silence passed over them as they all stared in awe at the arrival of Sir Lancelot. Soon there were whispers between them of acts they had heard of the Great White Knight, of stories and tales. Such bravery and strength.
Milo just stared with wide admiring eyes alongside Evan as the tall knight walked among them, each one gaining a small amount of attention. His head was patted, hair rustled. He asked their names, somehow he mustered his.
"I hear you wish to be a knight, train well, Milo Hale." That smile, that voice. Strong, sincere, inspiring.
Evan gained a punch to his shoulder out of disbelief.

Quote: You realize you have been chained before. You feel pain, fear, and then nothing as your body twists into a weapon and you are sealed. This is a weapon memory. It reared, resisting, pulling at the chains that threatened to tie it down.
No! No! It was to be free, it was to fly in the sky and be unburdened.
It was not meant to feel this pain as its body contorted into a smaller weaker state.
No! It would not give in! It wanted to cry out, but the pain was too much, the chains too tight and soon its voice was gone as only a pole arm remained.

Quote: You remember that not all shadows are terrible, and some are simply here to help. You recall encountering one in the past, and talking peacefully with it. This is a knight memory. It was found in the forest on his way home from the next village over. Milo was tired and hungry, but dared not to rest for what lived within the trees. It would be just faster to push through until home. But he saw it there, struggling and he couldn't help but watch it.
It was almost like it had cried, the noises it made and he found himself getting closer. Despite being a shadow, nothing about it seemed hostile. It just wanted to be free of the roots it had gotten stuck it - an odd notion, for shadows should be able to just pass through everything, right? "Here." He told it softly, gently placing his goods by the trunk. His hands went up, hopefully a universal signal that he meant no harm as he got closer. The creature stilled, went silent and watched as the boy freed him.
It lingered, seemed to stare at him and chirped. "You don't seem so bad," Milo smiled to it. He reached up, his hand so close to touching it. What seemed like a head. It seemed so close to resembling any other sort of creature, he realized, it was just dark and misty and hard to make out.
"Maybe not all of you are..." So close, but maybe it was too much. It shifted, retreated backwards and then scampered off like any other frightened animal would.

Quote: You remember what brought you to Camelot in the first place. It was the collapse of everything around you. It was the despair that drove you forward and gave you determination. This is a knight memory. He remembered the shadows that ripped the house apart and the last look his mother had given him. Those last words, that promise before the darkness consumed it all.
Fire, death and destruction.
But there had been a small hand clasped in his, held so tightly as they ran for their lives to Camelot. For sanctuary. He had looked down at those sad amber eyes and knew he had to do something to make everything alright. That's all that they could do.

Quote: You remember training to one day become a knight. This is a knight memory. Not many of them left the village to pursue other ventures, the family business would remain just that. But Milo wanted something different, something from the stories his mother would tell him at night.
But becoming a knight in a small village was difficult, there was no one to squire for and no where to practice properly. Usually he simply fought the other boys when they weren't working. His favorite sparring partner was Evan though, the baker's boy. He was strong and tough and hard to beat.
Evan would laugh as Milo tried to knock him down, parry his attacks with ease. And the brunet would simply laugh and keep going.
There was one day that Milo managed a solid hit in, knocking his practice sword against Evan's head. The baker's boy went down like a lump, and grew a nasty bruise. Milo felt really bad about it...
