It was a warm pre summer afternoon and the day had a very cloudless sky. Araven was within the process of wandering between the lands and thus between her 'care takers'. She had three friends in three different lands and she was wanting between the Valley of the Blessed and the Deep Forest of Enchantment. She always did love the places where the lands merged and became different ones. This gap had to be her favorite it was half shadows and half bright sun. The midnight haired mare would often linger here longer than anywhere else. She walked slowly in and out of the trees. Loving the cool feel of the shadows drifting over her sun warm skin.

She let her mind drift wondering if her 'care taker' within the forest would be willing to take her in for a few days. She really hoped so it would be the first time she would be staying with her only female care taker. Right now she was walking alone without her fawn companion. So she was all alone for now.

Freedom was exhilarating, but the loneliness slowly ate at her being. "We all need someone Teagan," Her mother had pleaded with her when Teagan had made it known she was leaving the clan. We are not solitary creatures the older mare had added, eyes cloudy. Teagan was slowly beginning to understand. Despite keeping to herself, the presence of others had been comforting. Now, with just herself, she felt the emptiness ebb around her.

The sky too, seemed lonely, clear, bright and unmarred by even a single wisp of clouds. It was too pretty a day to be thinking of sad things she chided herself.Teagan slowly trotted between the borders of the lush valley and dense forest. Here, for this small patch of land, was the best of both worlds. Trees dotted the landscape, but the canopies were not yet dense enough to block out the sun.

Teagan noticed the presence of another by a few seconds before the figure emerged between two trees. Her senses were becoming more trained the more she was on her own and forced to rely on them. Still the few seconds wasn't much of an advantage and Teagan found herself staring. Her hands tensed on the bag's handle she wore across her torso, but she warmed her expression and offered an only slightly uneasy hello.

Araven had not even thought of running into someone until the evening so seeing a pretty made who looked ready for a party and just as lonely looking as ready was a bit of a surprise. The crimson colored made smiled brightly at the soft shy hello, "Good afternoon miss." She greeted the other happily, "it is a beautiful day is it not?" She alway did love to see pretty grown mares. She was always in a bit of awe with them. "I do hope I did not startle you. I was a bit lost in my own world and they day." She said keeping her smile on her full lips to try and calm the other female.

The purple and chocolate mare was polite and somewhat charming. Teagan was a bit shocked at how unguarded she was but responded with equal amounts of friendliness
"Ah yes, it is the type of day that should be enjoyed, at least a little bit." She said, turning her eyes to pleasing landscape. "Not at all," Teagan partially lied, " I was just as you said, a bit lost in my own thoughts." She had been mildly startled, but she wasn't going to admit to it.
Her hand was now just gently clutching her shoulder strap, while her other casually rested to her side.
"My name is Teagan," she offered, reluctant to provide anymore information. She had little protection and no clan, though she didn't the other mare would cause her any harm. It was best to keep secrets secret. .

Araven was glad to hear the friendly tones from the smokey blonde mare. Though her voice was friendly she seemed rather shy or distracted. "Yes you are right the day really should be enjoyed." she said giving a friendly giggle. There were lots of things Araven should be more careful about but she had found serval good Taurs and a Fawn to took care of her so she was more preset to thinking others were good than being worried. She like the other mare had no clan though unlike the other Araven had never had a clan nor did she plan to join with another one.

"Hello miss Teagan. It is wonderful to meet you. My name is Araven." She flicked her long cuffed tail and rubbed her left arm with her right hand, "Sorry if I am a bit exited. This shall be my first time getting to stay in the forest. I am very much looking forward to it. Do you live in the forest miss Teagan?"

Perhaps, if Teagan stayed around the other mare, she'd pick up a bit of her enthusiasm. Teagan was no longer giddy about being on her own, not like she had been. Initially it was liberating leaving the rule of her Father and clan, and it still was to a point. Now though it was much harder then she had imagined.

"I live wherever I please Araven." She replied, trying out the mare's name and laughed at her own response. How ridiculous and brave she sounded, but it was true. "I do what I please and live where I please and." she pulled out two apples from her shoulder bag and offered one to her new companion. "And eat what I please." Teagan took a bite of her apple with her other hand, laughing to herself. Her face quickly fell into it's emotionally neutral expression yet a brightness still filled her eyes.

"I like the forest though. A little dark, a little mysterious, closed in but not always safe. Here the owls and swaying of branches lull you to sleep." She seemed lost in her own thoughts again. A habit of one often alone. Where else did her mind have to go?

Raven watched the other mare. She did seem so strong and confident. Mare like this always did inspire the young mare so much. She loved to see powerful confident females. When handed the apple the crimson furred mare did not hesitate to take it. Clearly she did not have a very big fear of strangers. "It must be hard to always do what every you want. I try to live like that as well. I don't have a home though I do have a few places I can rest with people I know from time to time." She was sure that other mare did not care about her home situations but at least it was something they could talk about.

She smiled and turned to look at the forest as she started to eat the apple. "Oh it sounds like an amazing place. I am very much looking forward to my first night in the forest. I am a bit ashamed I had never stayed within it before. I have never really even entered that deeply into it actually. It is one of the few places I don't often roam. Have you been to the desert or seen the sea miss Teagan?"

Teagan felt a pang of homesickness...no of longing, when the other mare spoke of roaming with other friends. Teagan realized in that moment, that she actually had no one else to rely on and if, gods forbid, she ever went back to her former heard, she would probably never be let back in. She was truly on her own.

Teagan didn't trust herself to speak in that moment, so she shrugged, eyes intense and staring forward, and took a bite out of her apple. It was tart and juicy, a good pick.

"I used to live in the desert." Teagan didn't elaborate on her past. "On one hand I admire the strength and struggle it takes to survive there but on the other it seems such a sad place. Too much struggle. Too much dirt." She sighed, not wanting to shatter Araven's enthusiasm. "I like the sea well enough. The smell is wonderful. If I could only bottle that and take it with me. What about you?" She asked.
