Looking around, the young mare sighed as she tried to figure out where it was that she ended up. Her parents had been pressuring her to join the herd, so she was better protected from the dangers of the batwalker that had been threatening their family, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to be tied down to one area, unable to fully explore the world. Miyako could understand why her parents were worried, because this batwalker was vicious and yet extremely cunning, but she had never seen this evil creature and saw no reason to overreact like everyone in that herd was. Her golden eyes blinked as she spotted the lake nearby, and admired how it glittered in the evening sunset.
"Is it so wrong to want to be free?" She asked out loud as she made her way over to the water's edge, avoiding stepping on many of the beautiful flowers that were closing up for the night. "I think I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself. Perfectly able to protect myself from anything that were to attack from the darkness. Even if it was that stupid batwalker." Miyako continued to keep talking to herself as she looked at her reflection in the water upon reaching the edge. Shaking her head in frustration, she rid herself of her reflection after swiping her horn across the surface of the water, sending ripples outward.
"Or am I the one that's overreacting to their worrying?" Sighing, she lowered her head and started to drink, paying no more attention to her surroundings.

He liked to explore, like many members of his family, the only problem was the hair. It was always his long hair, just like his father suffered from. He did wonder if his siblings faced the same issue, which he knew his grandmother also dealt with from time to time. It seemed his family had a thing with hair, though his father shorter than his fathers so it wans't as bad an issue for him. He had seen his father take a step, or even in mid run, and face plant because he had stepped on his own hair without even noticing till he was about to impact the ground. Still, it was an issue and it was why he was headed toward the lake he knew to be near where he was. His tail was dirty and full of twigs and leaves and he wanted to remove as much as he could and clean his pale hair off; really it was a hassle.
As he reached the edge of the forest he'd been walking through, he had just been enjoying the forest as little animals went to sleep and the woods darkened as night came on, when he stepped on a rather large branch. Snapping under his hoof he ignored it, giving it no mind, as he stepped into the clearing and spied a mare at the opposite side of the lake. Another one who enjoyed the evening perhaps? He didn't speak up, not wanting to bother or startle her, as he approached and plopped himself down, flickering his tail as much as he could so he could get access to the pale moonkissed hairs. He had things first to get out of the dirtied hair then he would let it soak to get the dirt and mud out.

Her ears swiveled towards the sound of the snapping twig in the distance and her eyes followed. Miyako watched the stallion come out of the clearing, his hair almost seemed to glow in the darkening twilight. Obviously someone that appeared to be as regal and majestic as him could not be anyone aligned with the evil batwalker her family feared. Yet, she did not move to go introduce herself. Instead she continued to drink from the water, and watched him start to clean his hair.
She knew it was impolite to watch and not introduce herself, but, he seemed so busy grooming himself, and she knew that there were some out there that absolutely hated to be interrupted when grooming. It was times like these, that she didn't mind having the short fluffy little tail that she did because it was less that she had to care for. There was also one of the advantages of living in the herd with her parents because there were two-leggers that fawned over all of them and kept up with their grooming so they always looked nice at all times and didn't really have to do it themselves. Yet, she wanted to prove herself independent too, and that was why she was out on this evening. So, she waited, perhaps he would stick around after he was done with his grooming and then she would go and introduce herself then. If he didn't stick around, then well, no harm done.

His family all lived together, a large teepee, deep in the woods near a small lake. But there were no humans around to help them with things. it was on their own which they managed things so since he had grown and found himself with such long hair he had needed to learn to care for it himself. His father was same and his grandmother. It was that which helped him finish grooming himself rather quickly. He had scooted back and dipped his whole long tail, no free from leaves and other debris, into the water before standing and giving it the best flick he could to get some of the water out.
Turning this way and that and giving his wings a stretch he did spot the female and kept his eyes going back to her. "A nice evening - yes?" He finally asked, calling out to her, as he took in her appearance. She was lovely like the night and decorated in the colors of the evening. Slow, careful of his just cleaned tail, he made his way around the water toward the female. He didn't want to scare her, make her weary of him, as he approached. His wings shifted and got settled into place as he tossed his head, hair moving out of his face; for all of about five seconds before his hair fell right back into it's usual place.

The stallion had finished his grooming and called out to her, and she nodded in agreement to his question. Now that he was done, he looked even more regal then before, and she knew that there was absolutely no way that this creature was in alliance with the batwalker. Miyako watched him start to make his way over to him, and she tried her hardest to banish all thoughts of her parents trying to still control her life and not be so irritable. Last thing a stranger needed to hear about was how incredibly irritating and overprotective her parents were.
"Good evening." Her voice called out gently as he approached. "I'm sorry if I disturbed you and if you'd like I can go and leave you in peace." She lowered her head in apology before looking back up at him. Miyako wasn't sure if he would tell her to leave or to stay, but the least she could do was offer to leave since she had been staring and watching him groom his tail. While she waited for his answer, her gaze turned back to the water, watching it sparkle in the dying light of the day.

As he drew closer to the unicorn he tilted his head down in an almost bow of a greeting. "You did not disturb me, so do not worry. I find I have to always take time to groom once I exit a wooded area." With his hair it was no surprise really, everything seemed to tangle into his long hair and rather than have a whole forest in his hair by days end he groomed - a lot.
"You can stay, make yourself comfortable. I do not own these lands so it would be rude to ask, or tell, someone to leave." He answered while motioning to the area about them, as if inviting her to just make herself comfortable. He plopped himself down with his belly touching the ground as he got comfortable. "It's a nice evening, it'll be nicer as it gets darker." As the moon came out, bright and full and the stars twinkled in the darker sky it wold be lovely. He wished he had his family with him right now, his mother and father, grandmother and grandfather - all of them. He had a large family and he adored them all.
"What brings you out this evening, if you don't mind me asking."
