(( "AND THEN the mighty purple serpent horse rose up from the depths with a big SPLASH!" Alucia slammed her hooves down into the dirt. "And he yelled 'give that back, that's mine!' and we were all like 'nooo this is OURS!' and he was sooo angry that the mighty purple serpent GROWLED AND CAME AT US!" Alucia twisted her face into an evil snarl. "'If you don't give it back, I will take your liiiiiiiives buwahahaha!'"
"I'm pretty sure that's not how meeting Ahti happened." Emerald deadpanned, dropping the dandelion stems at Alucia's hooves and interrupting her story."In fact, I'm pretty sure that he casually popped his head out of a river one day and nicely asked us to trade,"
Alucia let out a big sigh. "But Emerald that's not fuuuun," she whined. "And I don't know, he looked pretty fishy to me,"
"...That's because he's a mer, Alucia," ))

The large purple Mer glided through the ocean currents with ease. Ahti's mouth was set in a semi-permanent frown as his eyes scanned the surroundings. Nothing. There was nothing new. How boring had the ocean become? His collecting seemed to skid to a halt recently. There was simply nothing new that caught his eye. Either the land creatures were being more careful with their belongings, or someone else had been scoping out his usual spots.
He growled, bubbles rising from his pursed lips. It was probably that blasted octopus that refused to leave him alone. But it didn't matter who was taking the land ornaments at the moment. Ahti just needed something new in his collection. Both he and his collection were becoming stagnant. Sighing, he decided to swim towards the farther coast that broke off into the rivers. He had heard whispers that rivers were filled with treasures, since land soquili were always falling into them and running through them. He was too big to swim up the smaller ones, but there were deeper parts that could prove promising. He started his journey, keeping an eye out for that damned octopus as he swam.

Stasya hummed to herself as she examined a particularly interesting river plant. The herd had stopped to settle in a nearby clearing and she, Alucia, and Emerald had decided to scout out the nearby river. They were pretty close to the coastline, and Stasya was itching to follow the river to the ocean. It had been so long since she had seen it. And it was the only place she could find seaweed, which was a rare commodity for a group that was usually inland more than at the coast. Not that she could ever get the good stuff. The seaweed that washed up on the beaches was usually there for quite a while and it dried out quickly before she could get to it. Mmm seaweed, so many medicinal uses. She drifted into her thoughts of aquatic plants and was startled by a nudge from her apprentice. She looked up at Alucia with a smile.
"Yes? Did you find anything?" she asked.
