While it wasn't unheard of for Dris'rynne to make the deliveries instead of her parents, the trip to Tale had been one she didn't wish to repeat. Several obstacles had taken her off course more than once, ultimately delaying her return by several weeks, and so it came with no small amount of relief that the massive groupings of foliage covering Jauhar were just within eye sight.
Already the temperature was beginning to warm against her darkened skin. Under the light of day she, like most of her kind, had shifted to meet the demands of the sun so that she wouldn't burn. It was a natural reaction; though the looks given to her by the Leaf residents had been amusing. At least, the looks that hadn't circled around her eye.
Or lack there of.
Dris'rynne maneuvered her hand pulled cart behind her, it's two small weeks bouncing loosely over reach rut now that it no longer bore her family's wares. She rolled her shoulders, moaning when sore muscles fought against her. What she needed was a good night's rest and a warm bath. Too bad she wasn't likely to get it with the twin terrors she lived with. Please just let everything still be standing when I get home.Sabra Knight So that's it! Painted Moose Looooooooove you. 8'D Sorry I was super sleepy. ; ; Talisia felt like she would never settle down again. Traveling through Tendaji had proven to be a chore indeed and she had to wonder how her father ever managed something like this for fun. Some sights she did admit were amazing, but the transitions from each landscape were tough. Once she had started nearing the rain forests of Jauhar the girl found that wearing her clothing from Zena was not the best idea. So during the day she had taken to just wearing her tights and the cropped top that had been hidden by her winter dress. By night though the dress became her blanket along with the comforting fur of Silva, her raptrix companion.
These were my father's lands. Her bi-colored gaze widened in appreciation as she kept wandering forward. It was no wonder that he had been so weak to the frozen landscape of her home when he had come from such a warm paradise like this. Why would he even dare chose Zena over this? Her mother definitely had some strange ways of holding people to her will that was for certain. Unlike me...
Once more Silva had disappeared for his own amusements, but Talisia didn't mind. Currently she was too busy enjoying the fauna of the area and inspecting all that she could see. What would the wildlife be like here? Seeing all the strange new plants could only lead her to hope that she could find some really exotic sights here. Other than that what did she have to hope for? I know nothing about the life my father left behind for my mother....I couldn't dare hope to find a new family here.
It just wasn't possible, right? Sighing Talisia leaned against a tree and closed her eyes wearily. All she could hope for now was to survive and pray that one day she could find her twin again. For now traveling through the lands and learning about the world was her goal. A simple goal that proved to be a harsh challenge to keep her going.

Dris'rynne came to a stop near the edge of the massive rain forest to bask in it's humid warmth. The teen propped her cart against the base of a large tree, fully tilting it since there were no contents on top of it save for a little pack she had used for her personal belongings. Home was still a good, long walk from here, but at least now she was back to the warmth she loved so well.
It wasn't as if she hadn't seen the other young woman, considering just how keen her lone eye was and their close proximity. Dris'rynne just didn't want to bother her. It wasn't her place to approach strangers as if it were common place, especially those she knew to be half-breeds. They usually brought trouble with them, and trouble was something her family needed less of right now.
Still, she couldn't ignore her, especially when just looking at the other made Dris'rynne's very skin burn. Even in sheered layers her clothing was much warmer than Dris' and she knew the other girl would cook herself alive if left here much longer.
"You there," Dris'rynne called out as she approached. She unconsciously tucked a few strands of straight, white hair behind her ears, exposing the scarring that stood out on her darker daylight skin. "Are you lost?"

Please just go on your way. Still Talisia couldn't resist the urge to peek towards the shifter. Did she look like her father did? That changing skin color and the white hair...flushing the hybrid quickly looked back down towards her hands. Twisting her fingers she stood frozen. What did she do? Did she approach the other girl or did she just let her go on her way? She refused to ask for help, but truly was lost about what to do now that she had arrived in Jahuar. All she knew was that her feet were exhausted and her body was beginning to sway in the heat.
Hearing spoken words Talisia bit her bottom lip before slowly looking up. Technically she wasn't lost because she had no destination, but at the same time she had no clue to where she really was. The hybrid shrugged lightly then in turn, "I guess you could say that. I'm new here with no real destination in mind. You don't have to worry if I'm in your way I can move. I just happened to pause here for a second." She really hadn't meant to stay still for so long.
Just like her gaze didn't mean to linger over the other girl's face once she saw the scars. Her eye...is gone. Stating the obvious in her own mind Talisia unconsciously reached up to touch the skin under her own strange eye of silver. While she may have both eyes intact the stares she recieved as others had noticed the different colors flashed through her mind. Realizing that she had frozen in though Talisia quickly jerked her gaze away from the shifter, "Sorry."
It was a faint word, but at the same time sincere. She wasn't disgusted by the sight, but rather intrigued and concerned. What type of past had lead to that huge of a scar? Not that it mattered. Having a past of her own that she didn't wish to speak about made her respect others. She just hope she hadn't offended the first shifter she had spotted here by staring.

For the first time in her life, Dris'rynne found herself staring at another's oddities instead of her own. The half-blood's strange eyes were difficult to miss, and she made her effort to disguise her obvious staring. I wonder if the silver one shifts? It certainly would be interesting if it did.
Looking about her, Dris'rynne motioned to the vast road still ahead of her and the open forest. "If you were in my way, I would just go around." She smiled lightly, trying her best to be sociable. At least, until the other looked at her own disfigurement. It wasn't the lingering look that caused Dris'rynne to become uncomfortable, but the turn away and apology. She bristled, looking away herself, "Nothing to be sorry about. It's gone; nothing's going to change that." At least this one hadn't said something horrid like 'it just adds a uniqueness to your beauty' like her grandfather's friend had.
Stepping away from the hybrid, Dris'rynne moved back to her pack and returned with a water skin. She took a sip of it herself, and handed the rest over to the other girl, "If you've got no where to go, you can come back with me to my settlement. It's not much, but it's a good place to refresh supplies and rest."

There was the stare. Talisia had been expecting it, but noticing the other's own unique characteristic had gotten her own attention. Perhaps in a way that made them even? The shifter's reaction to her apology said otherwise. Was it so bad to apologize for staring? Talisia's cheeks flushed against the heat. Perhaps she should have just kept quiet then. As the other bristled she felt her flush, "Ah." She couldn't say anymore words. If she apologized again wouldn't that just offend the shifter more?
"I suppose so." Talisia nodded at the comment about the wide road, "But either way you didn't need to stop for me. I've been capable of figuring things out for a while now." Resting beneath trees at night, sleeping in the wilderness with her raptrix against her back...where was Silva? A part of her worried, but another was glad that the beast was lingering back. He never did like to be out in the open when others were close. In a way she wished she had realized another was approaching so she could have done the same. Earthlings were hard to trust after all. Who knew exactly what they wanted from her, a stranger?
Blinking in surprise at the gesture Talisia slowly reached out for the water skin. Was it smart to accept it? She doubted the girl had ulterior motives in offering water. After all the shifter hadn't chased her out of the way yet nor had she continued on past. I guess I have no choice then but to be a bit social.
The water was delicious against the heat. Savoring it in her mouth for a moment Talisia took just one last small drink before handing the pouch back over, "Supplies?" She paused thoughtfully she did need some things after traveling for so long...perhaps it really was her only choice. Her gaze flickered though as she looked back towards the shifter, "Not that I'm going to beg for anything. I can work and have a few pieces for trade..." She hated the idea of relying on a stranger's help, but what could she do? She needed to learn a bit more about the area before trying to forage here.

Dris'rynne arched the remaining brow above her missing eye. She chose not to comment on how truly "capable" one must be to go from a frigid place to one of nonstop heat. To her it seemed like a fool's errand, but to each their own.
Even after having taking a drink before the other, Dris'rynne noted just how wary she was of the aide. With the war behind them she couldn't honestly blame her for the hesitancy, though it did chaff her a bit. She was exhausted with little supplies of her own to spare at this point, so little things could bug her. Such as suspicion of her precious water.
"If you can work then you can stay with me." Dris'rynne strapped the water skin onto her hip, and motioned back to her cart. "My family runs a weapon's forge, and if you aren't afraid of hard labor then I can offer lodging and food. The supplies you'll have to trade around on your own for."

Talisia bit the inside of her cheek. Was it worth agreeing too? In this heat she felt so weak and fragile that her previous bravery was disappearing. Perhaps for a little while then it would make sense to stay. Just until she felt strong enough to get back on her own feet. It was stupidity to just dive into an area blind after all.
"I can do what I can to help." She commented, "I'm a quick learner as well so I can be taught anything that's needed." She didn't know much about hard labor, but tending to the sick was a skill. Maybe that would come in handy? The last thing I would ever have thought of doing would be this. Her helping with a weapon smithy? This was going to be interesting.
If only she knew the footsteps that she was falling into.

Dris'rynne pulled her cart down from it's propped state and walked the little two wheeled thing back to the hybrid. Her pack was pushed near the front near her, leaving the vast majority of it open.
"Hop on." She motioned to the cart with a nod of her head. "I need you rested up before we arrive, since you won't be getting much if the beasts have anything to say about it." Even as she spoke she had a little quirk of a smile. Those little vipers would have someone new to pester, and maybe, just maybe, Dris'rynne could get some work of her own done. There would be no use trying to tell them to be polite; she would have better luck speaking to a rock, so she could only hope to make use of the distraction.
"What's your name, stranger?"

"You want me to ride that thing?" Talisia bit her bottom lip nervously before raising a leg to test the cart. She had been walking for so long though that sitting down for a rest did sound nice. Would it be wise though? Her bi-colored gaze casually scanned around her. Would Silva be able to keep up and find her later on? Surely he could.
At the mention of beasts the hybrid tilted her head with interest. If beasts were involved then she would be fine by it. Animals were one thing that she was pretty good with skill wise. Maybe then that's how she could help! Smiling faintly the girl nodded, "Alright if there's beasts to keep me on my toes later then I suppose a rest won't hurt."
"But let me know. If you need me to do anything don't hesitate to ask." Her expression was determined, "I didn't plan on freeloading a ride after all. I want to help you as well." She had to earn her place. Talisia refused to ever feel vulnerable again.
At the question of her name the girl paused. Surely she was far enough out that her name could pass by without notice, "Talisia." She said faintly, "You? " She supposed it would make sense to learn the name of the one helping her.

Sabra Knight I think with your next post we can wrap this one up. c: In response to the question Dris'rynne nodded and motioned her head towards the cart. "Uh huh. It's sturdier than it looks." Her grandfather's cart wasn't the prettiest in Tendaji, far from it, but it was effective. That's what Dris'rynne liked about it; it never broke down and always surprised.
Snorting, Dris'rynne turned her gaze forward, hiding the grin that cropped up. "You've been warned. They're wild little beasties." Her sisters would eat her whole, which would be amusing. Dris'rynne was in need of a good laugh. Laugh at their antics or nap? Perhaps she could event finish mending her clothes with those two preoccupied....
Yes, this would work out well.
"I'll hold you to that." Once the girl had settled enough, she started to walk. The terrain was too uneven for her to run, though her legs could use the stretch. "Dris'rynne or Dris, take your pick."

Painted Moose Aye, captain! Sorry for the delay I've been in charge of the store so it's been crazy. xD; Talisia still hesitated for a moment, "Suuure." Oh well here's hoping. With a light jump the slender girl found herself settling into the cart. I suppose this works better on solid ground compared to the ice of home. Back there things like this would slip everywhere!
"Wild?" Talisia actually had a faint smirk. Sounded like a good challenge, "We'll see how I fare then." Her gaze gleamed faintly at the idea. Silva had been hard enough to tame so what could other animals do? There was no telling what awaited her in these new lands after all.
"Dris'rynne." Talisia nodded as she settled back into the cart. Maybe if she got more comfortable around the other girl then it would change to Dris, but she highly doubted she would linger long enough to get close to anyone here. But then again who knew?
It was a new life that awaited her after all.

Sabra Knight Let's try this again. XD Post seven for Dris'rynne. The journey took a fair bit of the day, and though Dris'rynne may have been pristine in her appearance it was obvious she was used to pulling heavy weights. Never once did she complain, nor did she falter, as she navigated around low hanging vines and ruts in the path.
A pack of wild radaku had run parallel to them for a while, pausing only a few times to sniff out the newcomers in their territory before nipping at one another to get them moving. Dris'rynne paid them no mind; even if she had been tense. It wouldn't have been the first time she had to fight off the beasts.
"So, what brings you to Jauhar, anyway?" Curiosity had gotten the better of Dris. If she was going to bring this stranger around her sisters then she had a right to know. Besides, they were coming closer to the settlement now and if worst came to worst she would need to ditch the "cargo".

The journey was a bit rough, but Talisia was so exhausted that every time she fought to stay away the girl found herself slipping back into sleep. At least she seems sturdy enough. She was both surprised and awed at how effortlessly the other girl seemed in carrying her along. She really just hoped that she wasn't being that bad of a problem to Dris. Her only other moment of awareness was the stare at the pack of radukus that ran with them. "What are those?" She whispered stretching before she rubbed sleep from her eyes. They truly looked like interesting creatures! She hoped that meant there were more out there waiting for her to discover as well.
At the question Talisia froze, "What brings me here?" She bit the inside of her lip thoughtfully. Well she could be honest about her crazed mother wanting to kill her, but at the same time the girl doubted she wanted to tell that story anytime soon. "My father...was from here and so I decided to go see what his world was like before he went to Zena." An honest enough answer she decided.

"They're radaku," Dris'rynne explained. His eyes followed after the pack as the ran easily through the fallen vegetation. Leaping over logs as if it were nothing seemed to be the way of life for them. "If they're not tamed early then they're nearly impossible to be around. You have to be careful around them. Their horns glow like the fungus and helps to camouflage them."
These creatures were something she had warned her sisters about getting too close to. While the tamed and young were fine, it was those that ran wild Dris'rynne worried about. Little girls wouldn't be able to tell the difference until it was too late.
At first Dris'rynne thought Talisia may not answer, so she slowed her pace to a near stop. Looking over her left shoulder, she focused her good eye on the hybrid. "I see." Satisfied with it, the girl gave a curt nod and continued on. There was enough hesitation in the answer that made Dris sure she would have to keep an eye on her anyway. "We've had good men from our village to meet their deaths in Zena, so maybe he was from there? It's a good enough place to start." Dris'rynne shifted her shoulders, and adjusted her grip on the cart. "I'd say you got really damn lucky to find me when you did."
Or unlucky, as that may be. As Dris'rynne walked through the thick of the village all eyes were on them; Dris would have attracted little attention her own, but it was the stranger in her cart that brought the focus. When she brought it to a halt next to a tree, Dris'rynne brushed off her hands and turned to Talisia, "Can you climb?"
