That aren't so life changing. The sun hung low in the sky, heavy, the great mountain range was slowly gobbling it up, causing long streaks of light to wash across the forest. Most day creatures were curled warm in their nests, as the predators of night slunk from their dens. It was warm still from the spring day, it was rapidly cooling though, the breeze hadn’t let up since the morning and soon enough it would turn into a chill night. Soon it would be too dark to see properly, travel would be dangerous and it would be wise to stop for the night.
Cassial knew this, she knew it as well as she knew her own name and yet she didn’t see fit to stop and find herself a place to rest for the night. She had started out late that morning, her goodbyes with Zani lasting longer than she would have expected them to. She could have stayed, she knew that, probably should have stayed but the hermit life really wasn’t for her she felt. Still she had started out late and now she wanted to make up for lost time.
She could see well enough right now, and while it would be difficult to see in the dark she would just have to be careful. It wasn’t impossible to travel at night after all, just a bit more dangerous. Though it wasn’t like she hadn’t faced danger before, admittedly it was usually a foe and not the possibility of tripping over something and breaking her leg; but that wasn’t what mattered. She shook her head and snorted softly as she hopped over a fallen tree her pace a fairly easy going gaite as she cantered along. It was the kind meant for long travel, a mile gobbling pace not meant to tire her terribly in the process.
The mare wondered for a moment if it even mattered? Would she ever actually find her father, and if she did what would she actually do with him? She had been asked that a few times, what was she going to do when she actually found him? Her brother had asked her that question when she had found him. Their mother wasn’t with him, he wasn’t even sure who she was, so what good was it to hunt down their father anyway? Cassi snorted and shook her head again, she didn’t really know what she was going to do. As a filly she had always sort of hopped that she would find her family, her whole family, and they could just be together. Those dreams had been dashed the day she found her brother who had politely informed her she really didn’t have one. She did but, she didn’t, they weren’t close, they didn’t hang out together, not the sort she was wanting anyway.
For awhile that had hindered her, she had faltered in her quest, or whatever this was turning out to be. She had stayed with her brother, Cerik, at least until she had decided that despite everything she still wanted to find him. Cassi had been searching for her family, her father, for as long as she could remember, that had always been her driving factor, without it she wasn’t much sure what to do with herself. She wasn’t the sort to sit idly by while the world went on around her. She needed a purpose, she needed more in her life than endless monotonous days. The little mare had pretty well proved that to everyone by now she felt, having traveled from one end of the world to the other. She needed a purpose, a goal, something, and she didn’t really want to think about what she would do after her father.
It was a scary thought, because honestly she didn’t know. Friends, she had many of those she could always go back to, but that would only sate her for so long she knew. It was a terrifying thought, to think that maybe at the end of this she would be just as lost as she was at the start. Who went on a life changing quest and ended up exactly the same as when they started? That would be just her luck she mused and as pranced around a tree, coming to a halt as she noticed a long stream before her. She approached it slowly listening before lowering her head to drink. Ah well she would find something, someday, that would be her cause after she found her father. She was just sure of it.

Nearby the low sun was slowly starting to stir the stallion who had been quite deep into slumber. Archer had found it hard to try and adjust his schedule to fit into the one his aunt had been living for years. He knew in his heart he could never be one of the night, the daylight held too many beautiful things (and beautiful mares...) to live solely in the ethereal beauty the night often held. He was aware his grandmother had always lived in the night, and so did his aunt. His mother though had broken that trend when she met his father, and in turn Archer naturally liked the day as well. It was hard to chose, and he knew he just couldn't never sleep...so he chose to live in both. The full brunt of the sun often made his mask too hot; so late afternoon well into the night often brought a balance he'd needed in his life.
It worked, and it meant he could still train with his aunt who was nimble and deadly with her own spiked tail.
Yawning deeply as he rubbed his eyes carefully against his legs, minding his horns of course, Archer begrudgingly rose from his warm spot in the grass. He would have to get ready before heading back to his family's herd lands. While his mother was out on a scouting run to see if she could find any traces of her neice, Airlia's daughter Sapphire, Airlia was resting back with Nimue; the matriarch of the family. Archer knew his 'turn' would be soon, even though he didn't think of it as a chore to spend time with his well...psychotic grandmother. She was sweet, and so kindly. Her mind was just gone, but there were plenty of times he could see it...and it broke his heart that for as much love and pride she had there was so much sadness in those distant eyes. He'd learned much from her rattlings, and had a feeling there was some kind of secret in her that even she was unaware of.
One way or another, he'd rid her of her sadness. Rid all his family of it so they could live the way they were meant to...free of the demons pulling them into the shadows.
With heavy hoof falls he made his way to the nearby stream, surely the cool waters would wake his groggy state up and get him ready. It took him no time at all to reach the shore, and with his tunnel vision he took a few steps into the stream and dipped his face into the water...careful not to get too much of his hair wet. Tossing his head up he shook vigorously to rid himself of droplets and snorted loudly; instantly his nerves waking up from the chill as the last of his sleepiness washed downstream. Blinking thrice, he looked around before freezing in his movement...a mare.
Well s**t.
Had she been there this whole time? He must have been tired, but she was fetching to say the least. Her pelt's melding into both bold darkness and bright whites were very easy on his eyes. Blue eyes similar to his own caught his attention...they matched so well with those dainty little feathers in her hair. "Why hello there doll....apologies if I started you." His tail flicked absently as his smooth vocals called out; dipping his head to the side to cause his hair to unfurl around his right shoulder. "I must have been way too tired not to notice such a pretty thing right away."
It was true....usually if anything he was definitely able to pick out a pretty face before anything else around him.

Cassial lifted her head very suddenly as the sound of hoofbeats hit her ears making her tense. She waited for the other to breach the underbrush, prepared for what may come only to find the stallion didn’t even seem to notice her at first. Cassi blinked, either he had serious tunnel vision or he was blind. Her defensive posture shifted to an easier stance and a smile curled her lips as she watched him. He seemed keenly intent upon his water, but that was fine it gave her plenty of time to inspect him. He was tall, very tall, much larger than her but that was fine if it came down to a fight the big ones tended to be lumbering. His pelt was white, a soft white though which trailed into dark socks on all his feet. There were wings curiously placed on his back feet and a spiked tail swayed back and forth behind him. His mane was fancy, that was the only term that came to her mind which only made her snort slightly. It tumbled around his head in a seemingly tousled mess, but what caught her eye the most were the three horns on his head. What sort of unicorn had three horns? Her father was a unicorn and she was well beyond positive that her brother would have told her if he had three horns. It was a curiosity to her that had her staring a bit longer than she should have. As he spoke she glanced back down, her eyes catching his, her amusement plain on her features. “It’s quite alright.” She mused eyeing him before looking down at the water and then back at him. “Ah, yes, your splish splashing wake you up enough?” She lowered her head once more to drink, completely at ease with his presence. It was painfully obvious she didn’t find him at all intimidating, though her eyes did keep drifting to the three horns. As he spoke again she stopped. Pretty? She glanced around herself before looking back at him a touch confused. She couldn’t think of a time anyone had called her a pretty thing. A sweet thing, a small thing, a feisty thing, she had been many ‘things’ but never a pretty one. Come to think of it he had called her doll hadn’t he? She shifted slightly and eyed him for a moment, she had a retort in her arsenal for nearly everything but she wasn’t sure what to say to that. “You should count yourself lucky silly stallion.” Cassi stated as she stepped into the stream. Ah yes, just don’t acknowledge it at all, that seemed a fine idea. Tease the boy instead, that was something she was good at. “I could have nipped your pretty hide for all the attention you were paying.” She grinned at him, before shaking her head, it was a bit mean to tease someone you just met she knew but still she could use the distraction. “Just be more careful silly stallion. Not everyone is an herbivor you know.” Cassi stated her eyes once more trailing back up to his horns. It would be rude to just flat out ask wouldn’t it? Like really rude, and if she was rude there was no guarantee she would get an answer but she really desperately wanted to know. What sort of unicorn was he, it was obvious he wasn’t a pure uni but still was it natural for unicorns to have more than one horn? It wasn’t like she had met many, or any really.

"Quite." He offered back, "Trying to change a sleeping schedule is much harder than I had previously anticipated. However, I am fully awake now." It was hard not to be in the presence of another, Archer was quite the social creature in comparison to his lineage. He felt his best surrounded with others, be it family or unfamiliar faces. It meant little to him, he loved other beings and the fascination each one of them held in comparison to the others he'd met prior. He would get used to the tribulations of waking up at a new time, it was only a matter of time. So in the meanwhile he'd struggle, although now with hindsight in mind he'd force himself to look around as he supposed there was a good chance he could get into a bit of trouble for not doing so.
Of course though, then he wouldnt' have the reaction this little mare was having, and well that would have been a damned shame for sure.
Archer was quick to let out a small snort, trying to contain his laughter for a moment but quickly decided it was no use and let out a rather light hearted chuckle. Steel blue eyes danced as she stepped into the stream and thus, closer to him. It would be rude not to, so he did the same as the waters nipped at the skin just above his knees. "Who said I wouldn't welcome such an action? If I turn around and leave to come back and pay you no attention would you do such a thing?" He teased openly, however his tone held no malice to his words. Her grin was matched with one of his own, noting for himself that she had such a bold personality for one so small. Yet....he figured it was just concentrated in that cute little frame.
"I don't recall ever giving any hints I was a herbivore...." A tone of mischief rose in his lush voice, his grin morphing into a toothy one to show his sharp teeth. He had no prominent fangs like some of his family but he was definitely able to share in a meaty deer. "However, I do prefer sweet things rather than salty flesh..." He would never say no to a juicy apple, or sweet fresh grass....it tasted almost as fine as she looked. Speaking of looks though, he'd noticed since she'd first spoke up that her eyes kept trailing to his horns. Although he was used to it, truthfully most were looking to his peculiar tail...a most prominent trademark of his lineage. For one to be most fascinated by his horns and horns alone was a new one.
"Like what you see there, Pretty dragonfly?" He mused, lowering his head a little so his face was more on her eye level. "Mutants don't usually need to worry about any nipping as most seem to be more weary of these traits of mine." He covertly tried to answer what seemed to be a nagging stare of curiosity. "I can't say I've ever had anyone come up and take a n** at my rump, but I don't think I'd mind terribly...if I was to speak honestly." He chuckled once more, giving her a look over as he was curious to what she'd have to say.

“Oh I very well might.” She snorted softly eyeing him for a moment. “I wouldn’t put it past me, I’m told I am too feisty for my own good sometimes.” Cassi stated as she shook her head slightly causing her mane to fall into her eyes. It was short and mostly in a braid at the bottom but there were bits at the top that never stayed in place. “Hmm I suppose you never did.” She glanced at his teeth but didn’t seem terribly worried. “But then I never said I was a helpless little angel either.” Cassi grinned as she lifted a hoof slightly splashing him with water. Her ‘attack’ was harmless of course the water hardly splashed his legs at all. “What’s that saying? The bigger they are the harder they fall?” She laughed slightly glancing up at his horns once more. If she did have to fight him it would be a hard won fight. Her smaller stature would give her a movement advantage but that would be it, he had lots of pointy parts. Still she was sure he would tire before her and if she was lucky he wouldn’t be well versed in battle. Though she didn’t really imagine she had anything to fear from this stallion, he didn’t seem like much of a fighter. “Mutant.” She rolled the word around in her mouth. While logically she supposed that was what he was, she imagined mutants to be something with rolling tentacles and slimy green skin. She wasn’t exactly sure he qualified as a mutant to her, but then Zani wasn’t really a monster. Of the many she had met in her travels, and she had met many, this stallion looked fairly normal. Monsters, demons, nightmares, creatures of the night all sorts and some had truly looked the part, but this one didn’t seem very terrifying. “Well, I suppose that explains some things. I imagine that is a Kalona tail, but the horns make me thing uni and the feet wings are something else.” She shifted wondering how much to really say. It wasn’t like she had ever really kept her goal a secret before so why would she now? “Anyway, I find them interesting, I suppose you could say I like them.” She moved closer lifting herself up slightly to inspect them more fully. “I’ve never actually seen a Unicorn. I always assumed they would have only one, so you having multiple is curious to me. My father is a unicorn, but I’m fairly sure he only has one.” Cassi shifted backwards a bit so as to allow him his personal space once more. “I don’t really see anything to be hesitant of. Or wary, or scared, or timid, or shy, or any other number of things others tell themselves when they fear something unusual. If you go through life fearing it then you aren’t living. It takes many different sorts to make up the world otherwise life would be terribly dull don’t you think?” As she had told Zani and many before him, she wouldn’t go through life living in fear of it. She shook her head and laughed again as if shaking off her own thoughts. “Far be I from allowing you to speak honestly.” Cassi danced back and forth from foot to foot for a moment before prancing forward slightly to snap her teeth at him. “Well perhaps one day silly stallion we will find out if you do like it.”

"I do like feisty females..." Archer absently said aloud, giving a pointed glance her way. "Unless you go around biting skin walker rumps I'd say you're not yet near the point of too much." Because really, while he did enjoy the princess types, they didn't quite hold his interest for long. Besides, he wouldn't be able to have a princess kind of mare at his side with all of what was going to transpire in the future. The war he was heading into would be one with no mercy. There would be no chivalry, no protocol; just a blood bath of ill blood, to wipe out an entire lineage.
It would be a slaughter if they were not careful, and Archer was going to be damned sure that he walked away with his entire family in tow even if it meant slaughtering every last one of Raven's lineage.
"Not necessarily true. One would have to fall in the first place right? The larger could easily play the defensive till the little tired and then strike." His family was large, yet so was Raven - as he was told. He trusted his aunt and her sole experience with fighting such a monster. Raven was crazy in the offensive....defensive was truly the tactic to go. "However I'm not looking to spill just any blood. I'm very peculiar, and have no need till the time comes." He felt as if he didn't need to hide his motive...Raven wasn't sane enough to send scouts. If she wanted information she would come and find it herself...so at least he didn't have to worry about double agents.
"Yes. My great grandfather's a mutant, its been passed down since then." Archer tilted his head, thinking back to what his grandma had told him about the stallion. "He was an Mutant Angeni, but was cursed and has spikes protruding all over his body. He was cursed to pain and suffering...a fallen, if you will. My grandmother is similar; but she is a uni angeni. Only my aunt has the eternal bleeding curse, the rest of us just have spikes...It seems we are a mixture of Angeni, Kalona, Mutant...the spikes being the mutation. So you can say the multiple horns are a mix of the spikes and the unicorn. You're right, normal unicorns have only one. My grandma just has one, so does my aunt. My mother has three like me." Well, that was long, he concluded as he cleared his throat. Perhaps a little disappointed she had backed away from him.
"I have no fears, myself. My family has resolved to hide in the shadows; I'm not sure exactly what cruelties they faced growing up but I know my mother has had a lot of problems. I will rid them of their anxieties, for I fear not to gain a reputation of truly being a monster if I have to." Well, his mother and his grandmother on his dad's side would be mortified if he'd gone and eradicated anyone who had done them wrong...but Archer was not afraid of labels. His needs far exceeded the needs of whomever chose to go against him, and he wasn't afraid to be selfish and snuff them out. "Of course i'd rather not, but I will do whatever needs to be done is all."
Perking his brow up, he had been listening to her words and concluded that she spoke of not seeing her father. "Fairly sure? Is he not around?" He asked, curiosity laced in his tone. However he also felt another s**t eating grin cross his lips as she snapped at him; only to take the singular step to her while lowering his head to her level and thrust his nose to press on hers gently but firmly - staring into those defying blue eyes. "I live for life's surprises. I have no time for dull and droll...perhaps you should try me now and not waste time?"

She blinked slightly as he moved and pressed his nose into hers. Well that was a little brazen of him wasn’t it? Still she found herself enjoying his company, he was bold and strong, a combination she found pleasing in a person. Cassi did not back down as he entered her personal space, his nose pressed against her’s only seemed to make her rise up slightly pressing back. Cassial did not back down from challenges, ever, she did not shy away like a frightened filly, she faced the world and all it had to give. “I could do that silly stallion, but then it wouldn’t be a surprise now would it? I shall n** you when you least expect it and it makes you jump.” The mare teased before ducking her head very suddenly moving to tuck it up under his, stepping forward and to the side slightly so her shoulder brushed against his chest. “Well well, you are tall.” She mused softly finding that she could indeed sit neatly under his chin, hardly having to lower her head in the process. “To answer your previous question, no, he isn’t around. You speak of your family fondly, and I wish I could do the same. I do not, however, know them, I very obviously have a mother, and I’m told I have two brothers though I have only met one. I search for my father, I know only that he is a Unicorn, full blooded, gentle and very large himself. It’s been me, myself, and I for a very long time.” She shifted for a moment, a soft sigh escaping her. It was always a bit sad to speak of her family, or the lack there of. It always seemed to make people uncomfortable, like they weren’t sure what to say on the matter. “It’s alright of course. I was lost as a basket, I’m not sure how and no one really agrees. A friend found me, and raised me till I was old enough to be on my own.” She shifted slightly her ears falling back against her head. It was clear this was a tender subject, her demeanor seemed a bit more somber as she spoke. “I’ve been looking for my family for as long as I have been capable of steps. I have traveled farther than many I know. I have met wonderful people. I did find my brother and for awhile that was enough. We were strangers, not really a family, but that was alright. I couldn’t blame him. He said some things.” She shook her head dispelling the thoughts a shiver running down her spine at the memory. “Anyway, your family sounds lovely. I do not know what they have suffered but I do hope they find happiness now.” She lifted her head slightly glancing up at the stallion. “I don’t feel you could ever be a monster, though I don’t know who or what it is you hunt. I still don’t feel it is something you could ever truly be.” She glanced around herself once more, eyes following the treeline and onwards. “Monsters are made on looks alone, and the world isn’t so simple as good and evil.” She shook her head snorting softly before flicking her small tail and poking her head through the curtain he called a mane. “So what is it you hunt exactly? What monster keeps you awake at night silly stallion?” Cassi stepped forward slightly walking around him and towards the shore slowly. “It’s okay you know, I’m here, I’ll protect you.” Her peppy nature seemed to have returned, the defiance clearly back in her eye. Whatever this mare had suffered, whatever trials she had been through, had not broken her.

Archer quite enjoyed the pressure of her nose on his, fighting back in the way she allowed him no ground further than the hot breath he felt tickling his chin. Perhaps he was having too much fun...it wasn't often he found someone as brazen as he was, with just the right dash of flirty boldness. He'd hand it to the mare, she was rather good at exceeding his expectations. Archer almost stumbled forward if it were not for quick reflexes and shifting his weight as she'd ducked from their connected noses to cozy under his chin. Perhaps it was the angle of his eyes but she was indeed a good head smaller than he was, he never thought much on his height as his aunt was so much taller than them all; likewise with his grandpa and great grandpa (or so he was told on the last one).
"All the better to cuddle with..." He shot back, nuzzling his chin against her hair with a deep rumbling chuckle in his throat. Flicking his ears he did listen politely as she explained her own familial situation, finding his brows lowering to a bit of a frown. "You were lost?" He echoed, trying to imagine how one could lose a basket; a life in its most vulnerable stage. "Its important to know where you come from...but family isn't always what you were born with. Most of the time its what you make for your own. Mine hasn't always been close, we semi recently came together to make a unit, it wasn't until my..." He thought for a moment, looking confused. "My cousin? Sapphire. She was whisked away as a young adult, but mentally she's more like a child. We still haven't found her...we fear she may be dead but we will not stop till we find something - but as its been well over a year its hard to keep hope. As awful as it is to think that brought us together it did, perhaps it will be similar for you and your father; amends can be made."
As vain as he was, he knew he hit a tender spot in the mare, as if turning down the flames of a fire. It was still blazing, but its flames contained for the time being. "My heart could never be monsterous, that is true. However the mind and one's actions can be swayed, to get what I want I can walk the path, and talk the talk. Their happiness is my only true desire..it'll happen." He assured, watching as the mare exited his hair and walked to the shore again.
"I hunt a Unikalona." Archer sighed, half lidded eyes vibrant with the venom he held for that monster. "Her name is Raven. She is responsible for the slaughter of my aunt's family, we believe she may have gotten to Sapphire too. She will see fit to have us all dead...my hunger for revenge has kept me awake for many moons." He snorted, even her name felt vile on his tongue. Archer followed her to the stream's edge, leaning his head down and giving her hip the gentlest graze of his teeth; his side brushing up against hers till they were shoulder to...well, neck area for her. "I hope you find your dad, and he gives you some kind of resolution for your journey." He looked down at her through his mask, a small smile on his lips. "Name's Archer."

“Don’t ever give up.” She spoke softly, glancing over her shoulder at him. “I know it’s hard, but you would be surprised at how many I have met on my travels. Those that have been looking for their loved ones far longer than a years time.” Cassi smiled bright before glancing off into the distance. “That isn’t awful, it brought you together and you are looking for her. It’s sad that she had to go missing for it to happen but it is good that you didn’t count your losses never look for her. If family is truly what you make it, then perhaps one day I will have one. I’ve always sort of wanted a family unit, somewhere to call home. Even just somewhere to always come back to. For all my travelling and all the places I have been, I still can’t think of a place that would be my home; where I would return to after it’s all over. Crazy right?” She laughed shaking her head, sometimes it seemed like she would never stop going, like there wouldn’t ever be an end to her wandering. She would just kill over one day in the middle of nowhere and no one would know what happened to her. She shook her head dispelling the thoughts. “What does she look like? This cousin of yours, Sapphire? Perhaps I have seen her, and if I haven’t then I will look for her in my wanderings.” Cassi stated rather suddenly glancing up and over at Archer. “Defending your family, and being a monster, are a bit different I feel. You’re family is in danger, their happiness is threatened, their lives are at risk right? I would go to the end of the world and back if it meant I could keep those I loved safe. I would slay a hundred, a thousand, without remorse, I don’t count you as a monster for hunting those that would kill you. If others do then they are naive in the way of true monsters.” She started slightly, a shiver running along her body as his teeth grazed her hip. Cassi’s eyes shot to look at him and she huffed gently. Reaching over she butted her head against his shoulder slightly, another huff escaping her. “Ah, a pleasure Archer.” She gave a bright little grin. “Cassial, like the angel. Most just call me Cassi though.” Cassi pawed the ground slightly, taking note that the sky had grown dark. She wouldn’t be traveling anymore tonight, she wondered if Archer knew of a decently safe place to sleep for the night. She could always ask him about that later, once he was ready to return to his family and she would be on her way. For a moment she wondered what his family was like, how did they interact, was it big and warm and welcoming, were they always happy to see each other? Did they fight? What was it like to live in a family unit like that? She shook her head, grinning up at him. “You are a so lucky you know that?”

"I don't plan to." Archer confessed, he could always convince his doubts to take a hike...as he was a rather optimistic fellow to begin with. Life wouldn't always hand things to him, but he could clearly take it by force. "My aunt...well, she is on the verge. I'll just take over her hope for the time being till we find her, she deserves as much." He couldn't imagine the feeling of having one's family, mate and children stripped from him like that. For as sinister and dark his aunt was, unlike his grandma it was clear as the sun in the sky on a clear day the raw unbearable pain was bubbling at her surface.
He wanted to fix everything, he wanted to make the family unit he had always envisioned in his head. Archer knew he couldn't do it alone, but there was plenty of time before things headed into crunch time.
Laughing at her little headbutt he feigned a wince, but his seriousness of the subject remained true on his face and in the way he spoke. "My aunt ran away from home when my grandma attacked her; it was years and years till they were reunited...they are closer than they have ever been. I have faith you will find something too be it your own creation or with the ones who gave you life. It is easier to make your own though..." He'd given it a lot of thought, and he liked to think of himself at the expert; even if it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. "My aunt went on to find someone she loved, and had children....and she's a very disagreeable mare." He chuckled, knowing he would get a very stern look for saying so. "It's not crazy. Now that you know you want it you can find what will make you happy. Be selfish, be greedy, you deserve it. Clearly life will not hand you a male or female to make you happy so you need to grab one yourself." He smirked, bumping his hip to hers. "Or maybe go n** one in the a**."
"Sapphire? Hmm." He tilted his head up and paused. "I've never met her, personally. My mother told me she's mostly black, with blue. She has a tail like mine, and the same black and blue eyes too. She has wings....just one pair. That's all I've had to go on - although the tail would be a dead give away."
Archer paused though, much longer than before as he listened to her. It was similar to how he imagine he sounded...those words echoing what his soul had been telling him for some time now. He stared with a scrutinizing gaze as her head had turned up to glance skywards. Interesting... He thought to himself, taking note she'd begun talking once more and stopped his stare. " 'Dragonfly Cassi', Has a pleasant ring to it." He concluded, before nodding his head. "Of course I am. I mean, look at me?" He huffed mockingly but burst out in a chuckle. "Besides that yes...despite it all I wouldn't change my family for anything. I only strive to make everything right for them all so happiness can be fully realized." Leaning over again he bopped the top of her head with his chin and turned, heading eastwards to flee from the sun.
"Come with me. It's getting dark." He demanded, kindly of course with little room for lip from her to retaliate with.
Of The Epidemic I don't think he would mind but clearly he does require an ample amount of sharing XD LMAO.

Tirokio Oh yes yes of course! XD He's just so freaking adorable. Or maybe I just really enjoy the way they play off each other. “As long as one person has hope, then that’s all that matters. I imagine it is hard for her, your aunt I mean. I couldn’t imagine that sort of devastation.” Cassi shook her head. She really couldn’t, what would it be like to settle down, have a family, and then have it taken from you? How does one handle that with any sort of grace? She wouldn’t, she knew that, beyond a doubt, she would hunt the beast that hurt her family to the pits of hell if she had to. Her heart went out to Archer’s aunt, it couldn’t be easy. “Oh, you sound like you speak with knowledge on the subject.” She cooed softly, her voice a teasing lilt. “Do you plan on making your own family Archer? Building it from the ground up and adding it to the current unit you have?” She pranced from one hoof to the other lightly. “Perhaps I will, I’ll declare my want for someone by nipping them on the rump. Then they can look at me like I’m crazy.” She laughed, bright and cheery before shaking her head. “But how will I know? How will I know which one’s right? That’s so final, picking just one and what if I pick wrong? Even if I do pick and somehow manage to find the right one, what if life gets dull? I become someone’s broodmare hidden away in the woods somewhere with no will of my own anymore. That is a terrifying thought sir.” Cassi laid her ears back and clicked softly, that wasn’t what she wanted. She didn’t want to settle down and then life to just become routine. “I don’t want life to ever become routine. I don’t want to just exist ya know? I want to live, I want excitement, I don’t want my adventure to stop just because I stopped wandering.” Cassial shook her head pulling herself back from her ramblings. She hadn’t really given it much thought, not until Archer had really brought it to her attention. It had always been a passing fancy in her mind but never something she really focused on. Yet she was thinking about it now, all because some silly stallion had decided to get her on the topic. “But, I digress, your tail is indeed an obvious feature. I will keep my eyes out for one like yourself.” She inclined her head before rolling her eyes. “That is an honorable quest, Archer and if ever I may help just lemme know. I’m sort of an expert on quests for happiness after all.” She watched him turn and half expected the conversation to be over before he was ordering her about slightly. As kindly as he had said it, it was still an order and she heard it as clear as day. “Bossy.” She snarked at him before turning to walk after him, coming up behind him at an easy canter to n** his rump. “I’ll allow it this time.” Cassi commented as she loped along and eventually passed him, hopping over fallen trees like a rabbit. “So where are we going?”

"Same. I don't think I'd be able to function...but she's much stronger than I am." Archer concluded on that thought, he looked up to so many of his family members but his older aunt definitely held a soft spot in his heart. His mother had his father, grandma occasionally had grandpa but otherwise she was hanging around someone. Airlia was always off to the side, so dissonant. Archer made sure to go out of his way to interact with her, even if it was something as simple as laying beside her.
"Absolutely." His eyes closed as he held his head a little higher. "I have big dreams." Well, that was a bit of an understatement. "I'm going to have a massive family. It'll be grand. I like kids, a lot. The more the merrier." He glanced partially behind his shoulder as he spoke. "They'll look at you like you're crazy long before the rump bite.." The stallion teased, shaking his own head with a laugh. "That's why you be selfish. There are many things I want in a mare...so much so that, well, one couldn't possibly embody everything. I can't see myself being with one soul for the rest of my life, its beyond comprehension. I've come to realize that we don't have to have just one...if you do that's great but my soul calls for more than one could possibly give me." Perhaps the road frowned upon, but Archer couldn't give two shits of the other travelers on the road. "To how well they'll work I guess I'll find out but I don't feel like lowering my standards to just anyone, so if I am unhappy then they'll just have to go." Amongst many other, more darker things he had in mind but that was not something he was willing to shed light on or let be known.
"If someone tried to make you a broodmare just leave. Why should you settle if its not what you want?" He huffed, ugh, settling. It was the same as giving up in his books. "While this is not to say I would like to go chase mare after mare....I would not be opposed to having a few in which I can treasure. Such a scenario just seems so right the more I think of it. But no...I do not have anyone like that, just my blood family currently."
True to her word, Archer found himself jumping slightly as a zing of a n** sparked up from his rump; letting out a loud snort as he grinned something fierce. He tried to snag her back but she'd already passed him, the night was still young; though. "We're going to where my grandma resides. Its my turn to watch her tonight, I figured I would relieve my aunt earlier than planned." He paused with a small hum. "If my grandmother tries to impale you with her horn don't take it personally, just keep backing up." He added, as a friendly warning. It had been a while since she had a snap; but he didn't want it to come as a surprise if such a thing happened.
Of The Epidemic XDD They're pretty hilarious that's for sure! < 33

“You think yourself stallion enough to handle multiple mares?” She asked, clearly bemused by the thought. “So let me get this straight here, you want so many things in a mare that one simply will not satisfy you. You need multiple mares to make you happy and you are not willing to waver at all in what you want? That sound about right?” She called over her shoulder as she slunk between two trees, terribly close together so as not to have to step through a briar bush. “What about what they want? What if I, as a mare, want you, am loyal to you, but I also want a romp with this stallion or that stallion? What then? Or what if I want you but I also want this mare as well? Or what if I as your mare want my foals to have the strength that stallion over yonder has? What would you do if I wanted more than one as well? Would you let me Archer? Or is it only what you want? I suppose what I’m asking is, if you are asking the mares to share will you in turn share the mares?” She hummed softly to herself for a moment. “Kids would be amazing someday. I can agree with you on that front. The more the merrier. I would want good strong healthy youngins, a whole bushel of them. Then I could teach them everything I know, all the tricks I have gathered over my travels. The herbs, the knowledge of traps and how to take down an opponent four times your size with just your speed alone. They would be my little battle cats, terrors of all that opposed us.” Cassi paused for a moment and then laughed shaking her head. “Oh that would be the life. Maybe I shall steal your idea and raise a harem of strong, powerful, deadly stallions to give me my little army of battle cats. Though admittedly I don’t think I could deal with that many stallions at once.” She mused softly before shaking her head. “Well perhaps one day you shall find your little treasures.” She shook her head hopping down a bit of a rocky face like she might have mountain goat in her lineage somewhere. “Curious, I shall keep that in mind. If she tries to stab me I shall be sure to dance out of the way.” Cassi shifted her weight slightly and slid a bit landing on her feet at the bottom of the incline before ducking under a fallen tree. At some point she had fallen back beside him, making sure she was following him if in a bit of a roundabout way. “Is she sick? You’re grandmother I mean. Zanzi is cursed or so he believes, I think he said he hurts people without meaning to sometimes and Vis is sick sometimes, to the point she doesn’t remember who is friend and who is foe. Sometimes it’s so bad she forgets her name or what she has been doing. I find, if you talk to her carefully, slowly, sometimes it helps.” She spoke softly before shaking her head. An illness of the mind was a terrible thing to encounter.

"I can. Because I will not be handling them, I'll love them. I'm not looking to be a player...maybe i'm wrong, maybe I will only fall for a single mare in my entire life. However I don't feel that's the case. I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea, so I think its better to be honest with myself from the start." He'd slowed his pace for a moment, thinking hard on what Cassi had to say. It wasn't as if he hadn't thought similar things while searching his own heart for what he wanted. Yes, behind his motives at the very core was a selfish desire to have more in their family unit, to have more force in their familial unit but there was also love.
And that was so important.
"Thats a good and valid question. Its a little...hard to put into words. I supposed it boils down to looking for others who shared similiar thoughts and desires. To be a part of a family, and have the closeness friends and family can have in life. If I were to find a few mares, there would be no way I could give them everything they wanted; and say in the source of kids...may have to look elsewhere. I would not be romping with just anyone, as much a strong kids are very desireable...there has to be something behind it. I wouldn't want kids if I didn't feel anything for the mare I was with; if I wanted that I wouldn't need a family and could just take what I wished I guess?" He hummed, closing his eyes for a moment. "I guess though...if the mare wanted more males in her life in loving relationships and wanted to be with them...maybe it wouldn't work? I've never met someone in such a relationship as I can see in my head, but it seems weird to have two separate groups. I have not met many males outside my family...I cannot say if I would have feelings for one to bring into a group like that. I can say though they usually are not cute like mares at all though..."
Perhaps thats why...their rumps just didn't sway like a mare's did, yet who knew. "Life's still early though." He concluded. "If it was for the family I don't think I would mind...but if one was clearly unhappy with us...what's the point in staying right?" He laughed, curtly. Grinning up at her as she weaved about ahead of him. "Sounds more like the queen and her army. Steal away....it would be nice to know i'm not the only one with such wild and grand thoughts out there."
Who knew, maybe he was the dreamer in a world of realists.
"Aren't they though?" He sighed, smiling. "There is something about their eyes that always get to me. So clear, but so full of feeling; untainted by the world around them for such a short time." Even as a foal he liked to stare at his sisters, they were something though - even though he hadn't seen them in some time. "Hopefully....it wont happen if I don't go looking though. Like you...gotta take when the taking is good."
"Ah....yes. She's been cursed for a long, long time. She's a fallen angeni, its hard to explain the slue of what is wrong with her but you'll see for yourself shortly. She's...a very nice mare, I promise. She just...." Clearly this was a a hard subject for him...talking of his grandmother's problems he wasn't sure how to fix. It wasn't as simply as Airlia's....revenge was so simple. How do you heal someone when you don't know how they got it in the first place? "She has her moments...she can't help it. Then she cries and cries...." Oh, that was the worse. Archer looked down and offered a saddened smile; "She's pregnant though, so she's been a pretty great mood for a while."

Cassi stopped very suddenly as he replied, love them? She shifted to look over at him, watching as he pulled ahead slightly because of it. Was it really possible for a stallion to love more than one mare? Would he honestly, truly, love them all equally? Would one not become a favorite eventually and the other’s be left broken hearted? “Could you though? Do you honestly mean it? Would you be able to love them all equally? Not pick a favorite eventually and leave the others? Let them trail to the sides because you didn’t love them as much?” Her tone was soft, it wasn’t judging but truly questioning, as if she was worried about the answer. She shifted uncomfortably as she waited for his answer, she wasn’t sure it was possible. Cassi didn’t know of course, not for sure, she could probably find it in herself to love multiple partners, but only if she truly knew that she was loved in return. It was a hard pill to swallow, it left room for double the heart break. She shifted once more, moving again to catch up to him. “I think I understand. It is hard to explain. If truth be told I couldn’t imagine lying with someone I didn’t at least care for in some way. If I were to take a female mate then I would look for surrogates among my friends first or those that I could trust. So I assume you think much the same way, you wouldn’t romp with just any mare, but only with one you cared for.” Cassi frowned slightly as if she was trying to puzzle it out in her head. “Somehow I can’t imagine you with a stallion very well. The image grows fuzzy in my head but I see your point. It makes more sense to have a family unit devoted to each other than separate groups.” She shook her head it was something to ponder on at least, in the late nights. “Another question for you, what if she did have children by another stallion, would you take them in as your own? Say it was a… forced affair, or you grew incapable of producing?” She seemed to tremble slightly at that statement before shaking herself off to walk a little closer to him. If there was one thing she feared, that would be it. “Perhaps that is what it is. But a queen and her army would be safe right? In a world that has creatures that roam actively looking to hurt others. I would want my family safe, and if we were known as a mother queen and her army then so be it.” She shook her head once more with a soft snort. “They really are, sweet, innocent, and adorable. To see the world through the eyes of a child again. I can’t quite remember when it looked so wonderful and non threatening with a clear lack of darkness in it.” Cassi felt his sadness, the toughness of the subject and she moved closer. She walked beside him pressing into his side in an attempt to help ease his troubles. As if she could help carry the burden on his shoulders if she walked close enough. “It’s alright, I understand. She needn’t worry about me, some of us are unfortunate but still deserve understanding and care. I believe you when you say she is a good mare.” She perked slightly and swished her tail. “I hope she likes me and then maybe we can talk about what it’s like to have a belly full of squirmy ones. Sounds wonderful.” She spoke, her voice picking up to a sweet tone. One that spoke of happiness, and curiosity. “Ah, sorry, I’ve only ever grown up with boys. No mother to explain it all to me. I’m sure it’s not nearly so interesting to you.” Cassi mused bumping against his side.
