Vosin had greatly enjoyed her time down in the islands. It was a bit awkward not really knowing the language fluently, although some words sounded familiar. Over all it'd been as awesome an adventure as she'd hoped. She was still trying to figure out some aspects of their society. Vosin had returned swiftly when Tiaeth told her Sereth's clutch was hatching. Not because she wanted to see the tiny dragons born so out of time, but to support her youngest brother as he stood.

It was a sad disappointment that he didn't impress. After trying to encourage Esre afterwards, she had to return to her duties on the island. Vos was determined to find her little brother some souvenirs to help cheer him up. She spent many hours of her remaining time hunting the islands high and low. By the time for the feast rolled around she'd collected a number of things.

A small bronze head, by modern standards anyhow, watched her from his hot sandy wallow. He was absolutely enjoying the warm climate of the islands and the sandy wallows. One thing he truly missed was his clutchmate. Unfortunately his rider's twin hadn't been picked to come on the expedition.

Are you going to be able to pack it all tiny enough to fit? You might break my back with it. I'm sure you wouldn't want to do that or how would you get home? His eyes whirled a deep green. Tiaeth had watched his rider for the past hour, packing and repacking the items she'd picked up trying to find the best fit.

The red headed woman cast a glance at the dragon and made a tisking noise. "This is hardly enough to break your back Tiaeth. A big strong bronze like you can surely carry more. Still..." She looked at the pile of unwieldy objects. "I wish they'd pack just a bit better. I'd hate to find myself sitting on his dried fish." Vosin went back to work.

Several hours later, she tightened the last strap the held the lumpy cargo to Tiaeth. "That'll have to do m'boy." Vos patted the dappled flank and slid back down to the ground. She wiped sweat from her brow and went to change into riding gear. It was cursed hot until the pair got fairly high up. The hatching feast was tomorrow, and she didn't want to miss it, plus she had presents for her siblings to hand out. She hoped to cheer Esre up.

After helping her passengers mount and buckled them in. She silently asked the bronze if the second dignitary for the feast was too much for him, but got a reply that eased her worries. With a whistle a brown flit came flitting from the trees to land on her shoulder. She gave him a pet then climbed up to settle comfortably into her familiar seat. "Let's fly Tiaeth!"

Vos gave her passenger a quick warning before they went between. Coming out, she could hear one of her passenger screaming. A smile twitched her lips which they thankfully couldn't see. Vosin had Tiaeth glide around to give them a good view before setting down. She escorted her charges and introduced them to the Weyrleaders before going in search of her Esre. A large package tucked under one arm.

Vesresh was in the candidate barracks, trying to find all his formal wear so he could clean them. Unfortunately, what he was finding was far too small – had he really grown that much between feasts? He'd been to two... in this time... not including the pig roast... thus far, and he had managed to get good clothes for the first one.

It was unmistakable – he had grown bigger. It was that age, after all, when young boys shot up in size. Esre just wished that it didn't come with awkwardness. Hadn't he heard somewhere that the ancients had had clothes that stretched? He wished for some of those now. He sighed, laying out what he could. He'd need to talk to a tailor, and he really didn't want to. Could he even afford to pay? Maybe he could ask Nersha... but she was busy. Sereth, after all, had had a clutch, the clutch had hatched, and that was why there was a feast. Both would be busy, and he hadn't impressed – there would be no reason for him to disturb them.

Vosin? Vos had come back for the hatching and would probably be back for the feast... which would be too late for his clothes. He sighed again... he'd have to find someone to go with him, then.
