He hadn't noticed anyone else running around with pieces of armor he didn't have, but Mmur had never really needed a reason to visit Franks, even if he wasn't going up the mountain. The world was falling to pieces around them, but it was a comfort to know he could still spend a quiet afternoon with his horse if he chose. Apples were scarce in Camelot, but chickens were everywhere, and so he brought the gelding a charred drumstick instead. Once the horse had finished his treat, Mmur hopped into his stall, singing an off-key song about giant wyverns.

Ignatius wasn't sure how much he wanted to go questing at the moment, all things considered. Still, it was useful to get his mind back in the game and off concerns of the deaths of the few people he had attempted to grow close to, even with as few memories as he had managed to recover. It gave him a goal, too, to get the full set of armour he noticed so many others seemed to have already. He would join them soon, once he had a few more pieces... He marched over to his horse, preparing him for another trip up the familiar trail, when he saw someone nearby with a long cape that caught his attention easily. They were also singing absolutely awfully, but that didn't matter quite so much as what he was wearingWow... Was that a piece of armour he could get too? He wanted to get a wing cape like he was a heroic knight too...

The horse reacted first, snorting into the violet knight's hair and tossing his head at Ignatius. Mmur peeked out of the stall, smiling brightly when he saw that the one who approached wasn't a shadowling.
"Hello! Did you come out here for a ride?"
It was a strange time to be riding around or even wandering out here, but if he was doing it, so could this knight.
"Have you been up the mountain?" His eyes shone as if going on knightly quests was some sort of secret, as if the young man wasn't already wearing some lovely pieces of armor of his own.

Though some of the obscene cheer might have come off to others as totally inappropriate considering the circumstances, Ignatius was actually quite alright with it. In fact, it caused Ignatius to grin back, lifting his hand for a rather cheerful wave. Finally, someone else had it right. Panicking wouldn't help. Being nervous or terrified wouldn't help. Finding the good things and being optimistic would certainly do the trick. "I did, actually! Was about to go up the mountain again," because that answered the second question, too. "I'm missing a few armour pieces and that seems to be the place to get them." Awkwardly, Ignatius attempted to show what armour pieces were clearly not fancy and therefore missing from his get up. "You?"

"I came to see Franks," he replied, pointing a thumb over his shoulder. "The horse. But we could come? Two people could fight off the fire monster and the eagles and the bees and warn each other when the ledges are about to give and keep the horses in check when they start to run off..." He'd heard horror stories about the knights who tried to quest in groups. Dysentery. A lot of dysentery. But he'd never done it himself, and rumors didn't scare him. Mmur opened Franks' stall from the inside and strode out, bare feet swishing through the hay. He held out his hand as he came to a stop in front of his possible future companion.
"I'm Mmur."

The horse had a name? Damn, Ignatius' didn't. Was he supposed to name it? He glanced over his shoulder at his own horse, who honestly just looked quite unamused. Probably because it didn't seem fond of the mountains, even if this one had stopped running away... Oh, right, someone was offering their hand. Ignatius snapped out of his distracted daze to offer his hand in turn. "Ignatius Svarog," stated Ignatius, confidently, taking Mmur's hand and offering it a shake. "It's a pleasure." It certainly was a pleasure to meet fellow Knights who did not seem to be letting themselves get down. It was refreshing, considering the current situation was even causing Ignatius to struggle. Perhaps, they were all starting to grow weary. His least successful trip had been with another, but it couldn't hurt that badly, right? Besides, that stupid fire beast kept throwing him off... "Bringing someone else along could be mutually beneficial." Not that Mmur seemed to need any more armour pieces, but it sounded good.

"Excellent!" Mmur declared, returning to his horse's side and taking up his reins. "Let us be off so we can return before the... sun... sets..." He trailed off, recalling that there was no sun anymore, there had never been a sun. The violet knight frowned at the thought. "Before we're expected," he amended. Not that they were expected to do much more these days than kill shadowlings and not die.
He led Franks outside and climbed onto his back, positioning his arbalest so that it wouldn't dig into the horse's rump.
"So. Any idea what you used to do? I think I was a farmer. I had cows, at the very least. Someone painted them pink." He chuckled. "How do you even do that?"

Ignatius looked over to his horse, who snorted at him. Well. Okay. The knight trudged over and murmured a, "Quiet you," to the horse, before jumping up and swinging onto its back. Done. Sunset was a nice thing to pretend about. There was no sun anymore. It didn't mean he couldn't imagine it or pretend he felt its warmth on his skin. He wished he could feel it, actually. Seeing his reflection, with many of his freckles fading or fading due to the lack of sunlight to encourage their production, was almost terrifying. Before they were expected was closer to the truth, though, and he accepted it with a nod before following after Mmur. The idea of a pink cow drew a loud cackle of laughter from Ignatius. Pink cows? Ah, how he wished he could see that. "Perhaps an overuse of strawberry juices!" But what he did? That was a harder question. Honestly, he hadn't the faintest clue. "I wish I could say I knew. None of my memories have been particularly relevant." Ignatius frowned. "All I know is that I've always been a bit boisterous." Ah well, he supposed. Ignatius was a Knight now.

Mmur led Ignatius down the craggy path toward the forest, chattering on throughout the journey. It was a shorter one than he remembered, but that could only be a good thing, right?
"Boisterous is the way to be! It might get you into trouble if you're all alone, but that's what friends are for. To sneak in from the sides while you're being loud." He brought his extended fingers around an imaginary point in front of him, as if he was outlining a brilliant military strategy rather than making a circle. "I mean, it's not like I'm enjoying what's going on here, but we need all the different kinds of fighters we can get." Barely hanging on to his horse's stirrups with his feet, Mmur leaned over rather impossibly to grab a bundle of food off of the ground. He had shown a surprising affinity for riding since he had been here, but he chalked it up to some lost fragment of his past and left it at that.
When he saw the line of trees that indicated the entrance to the forest ahead, he pointed. "This is where I usually come across... yes. There's something now." A very angry boar was barreling toward them, flecks of foam dripping from its mouth. Mmur moved to prepare his very slow-loading crossbow.

Ignatius definitely did not have an issue with how nicely their path seemed to be going. The less trouble they were having, the better, after all! Hopefully he wouldn't see any fire beasts while he was with Mmur, those things were incredibly annoying. It may have not been the most brilliant of military strategies, but it earned a laugh from Ignatius anyway. "Distraction tactics! Those can always be useful. Perhaps we should try some of those on those damn shadowlings." Or horsemen. Or sidhe. Or whatever was going to try to kill them all next. At least food didn't kill them! And it was on the same spot of the path he always seemed to find food, interestingly enough. Food didn't just magically appear there when he came by, right? It had to have been left there. But maybe it was a magically regenerating pile? That would be fascinating. Perhaps it was a useful side effect of all the other things that were going on. Right. Boar. Angry boar. Ignatius aimed his pike and attempted to run through the thing before it had time to attack, shouting back behind him like what he was doing took little effort, "We need everyone right now! Only united will we win, I think!" As much as he would have to admit he would much rather not be doing any of this...

Before he had even slid the bolt into place, the boar was dead. It seemed a shame to waste its meat, but... chickens. The birds would outlive all of the knights at this rate. Between them and the mysterious food bundles, they had plenty to eat without adding diseased pig to the list.
"Agreed! And nice work. Maybe the fire monster will eat that instead of us."
Alas, the fire monster was still very interested in them, at least until Mmur shot at it on the way past. He urged Franks to hurry, breaking out onto the mountaintop and skidding to a stop with no further danger in sight except for his own stupidity.
"Where is it?" he asked, peering around for Ignatius's armor. Maybe only the wearer could see it. Ooo.

It would have been nice if the fire beast went after the boar, but of course it didn't. Ignatius stealed himself to attack it or even to run, but instead, Mmur shot at it and took it down. Oh. Okay. Shrugging, Ignatius followed afterwards, happy that his horse hadn't fled in fear in the process. Indeed, he was able to make it the rest of the way to the top without any further trouble, even from his horse. Huh. This trip seemed to go a lot better than the trip with Arrakis had. Perhaps it was because they were stronger? Ignatius hopped off his horse, venturing around to find his next piece of armour. He knew he was only missing a few pieces at this point... Aha! The knight scooped up a gauntlet, happily showing it off. "I've got this! It's got some kind of weird snake on it. With fins." It was an electric eel, but Ignatius didn't really know that.

Mmur climbed off of his horse's back as well, examining the gauntlet by sight alone, even though he might have wanted to touch it. He would leave that to Ignatius. It was beautiful though, and he told the other knight as much before adding,
"That was almost... fun." It seemed dangerous to note, considering how deadly their lives usually were. "I guess we should go."
Scanning the skies for eagles, he made his way back to Franks.

"It was," which was kind of weird, all things considered. Up until now, everything had been generally out to get them, but it seemed Mmur and Ignatius had handled that quite, well handily! Worked for him. Still, Mmur was right, and they should likely be getting back. After putting on his gauntlet, Ignatius headed back to his still unnamed horse and mounted them. "Let's go!"

With a nod, the violet knight was off, past the whimpering fire monster and the decimated boar and the magically reappearing supply cache, only slowing when he saw the stables again.
"I'll see you inside?" he said, hesitant to go even though he knew they were expected to. Mmur waited a minute more, then left his horse's stall and headed back toward the castle.
