Oftentimes, it seemed like Kinnar was the only one who liked rainy days.
Well, it wasn't even rainy. It was just that awful, strange misting that the sky did when it couldn't figure out whether or not it wanted to rain or clear up completely. Overhead the clouds remained thick and gray, and Kinnar didn't mind it one bit. Being as vain as he was, it wasn't predictable that he enjoyed the dreary weather. His hair was silky smooth and yes, he certainly preferred to keep it that way, but he made an exception for days like these. His hair could frizz all it wanted, there was a certain magic in the air that accompanied all that water. Kinnar could feel it.
This explained why he was outside right now. Taking a leisurely stroll through town. He'd recently moved to this new place and was having trouble pinning it down, it seemed so expansive to him. He was used to the tiny area he'd come from, but it hadn't suited him much. Kinnar required something bigger, something bolder - nothing else could quite accommodate him. And so here he was, lost but enjoying his time all the same, strolling through the dampness with a strange smile plastered on his face. Nothing could ruin this day.

Karyn was slowly walking down the street with a couple of plastic bags stretched with their weight of their contains hanging from her hand. “Really…” Karyn sighed looking down at the shopping bag she held. “You guys just had to send me out for snacks and milk…” Karyn muttered to herself. She then turned her head up towards the sky. When she had gone into the Gas station it had been a nice sunny day… but when she exited the store it had turned dark a gloomy, not that she didn't dislike it, in fact she liked and enjoyed light rain, but she didn't like was when it stormed.
Karyn raised her hand up towards the sky palm up testing to see if it had started to rain yet. She was still a bit annoyed that her family had sent her on a snack trip. She had originally been asked to go to the gas station to pick up milk for tomorrow’s waffle breakfast. But as soon as she was asked all her other brothers and sisters zoomed in to request something from the gas station. Not that she didn't take the time to buy a small bag of sweets and snacks herself. She let out a sigh as she looked back to what was in front of her. She was just lucky that the gas station wasn't too far from her family’s home. If they had sent her to the supermarket she might not have been able to find her way back home…

Although Kinnar's sight was actually impeccable, oftentimes his lengthy hair shrouded his vision. Which explained why it took him so long to realize he was about to run into a rather exasperated female. He practically skidded to a stop in the dampness, flicking his hair out of the way as he took a look at her. "Sorry," he huffed out, never quite one for tact or politeness. It was then he took the time to look at the girl, carrying what looked like heavy bags of groceries, still walking. He padded behind her slightly, admiring the color of her own hair as he did so. The female seemed to be quite pretty, so it couldn't hurt to rectify the situation of nearly running her over.
"Do you, ah, need... help?" He coughed awkwardly, unsure how to be so kind to someone, particularly someone he'd just met. Kinnar had no friends, no siblings, and was never quite close with his parents, and thusly had little concept of social etiquette. Therefore he was usually a bit abrasive, and even more awkward. But it didn't hurt to try once in a while, he figured. And she seemed like someone worth trying for, if only as an odd sort of apology.

Karyn was complaining so much about her family, although it was mainly just harmless steam; within her head. She was doing so much so she didn't notice that someone was about to run into her or her running into him. She didn't notice the other person until they were about only one for apart; when they were right in front of her eyes. When she noticed the other person when they they were about to collide she blinked in surprise and stopped mid-thought. It was lucky that they noticed each other before they collided. She was frozen with surprise from the close collision, that she start to think until she heard a rather stiff apology. She closed her eyes and shook her head from side to side and then she reopened her eyes and looked at the man she almost collided with. "No, it's my fault. I wouldn't have been daydreaming in the middle of the sidewalk. " The man she almost collided with was quiet handsome. He had such long flowing hair. It had multiple colors within its strains she had a little trouble telling what color it was. Much like his eyes. His eyes seemed liked two deep swirling space jewels. She much she could feel herself being lost within them. " Do you, ah, need... Help?" The man said a bit awkwardly.
Karyn blinked a bit in surprise. 'Help? Help with what?' She thought abit confused she followed his eyes to her hand that was holding the plastic bags full of items. And paused for a moment then narrowed her eyes. Did she look weak? Did she look like she was suffering under the weight? Did she look like some helpless weak girl?! She looked up at him with her eyes narrowed "What do I look like I need it?" She replied to his question a bit roughly

Kinnar couldn't help but nod at her explanation. It took two to tango, so it wasn't possible for it to be entirely his fault that they nearly collided. She seemed like a perfectly reasonable girl, Kinnar decided. That was, until she responded to his offer.
He scoffed at her response, tossing his hair back as his nose flew in the air. "With that attitude, it sounds like you need a lot more help than I can offer." His lengthy tail swished a bit, almost involuntarily, as he raised his eyebrows at her. "My apologies for offering a hand. What's it like to be so easily offended?" His multicolored eyes danced as a smirk placed itself upon his lips. Kinnar had only meant to be nice, but the snark this girl was offering was far too good an opportunity to play with her. Although he'd thought his day had peaked with the rather beautiful weather, now he knew the day could not get much better.

( sorry for the late response I got distracted with life and supernatural ) Karyn glared at the long haired guys first response. "well I'm sorry if I seem so weak to be able handle a few plastic bags from the store by myself." she said to him. She originally hadn't meant to be rude, it was originally a reflex response, but she wasn't going to back down.

Kinnar's immediate reaction to the girl's response was a rather goofy-looking grin. It wasn't often he met someone that could rival his own snark, but it appeared he had finally encountered a match. Simmering his expression down a bit, he quirked a brow once again, glancing over her frame, shaking his head slightly. He took on a sad look and said, "Oh, don't apologize. It's nothing you can help, I'm sure." Although it was easy for him to state this in a serious tone, it was near impossible for him to conceal the clearly joking, entertained light that danced behind his eyes. "Now, where are you going with those bags? Since I can't carry them, I might as well escort you - seeing as you look so helpless, and all." He smirked once again, barely covering up a slight chuckle as he appraised her expression.

Karyn watched as after she talked all huge could do was smile at her, like she was the newest and most interesting thing he has found. As his eyes wonder over her frame to she just how weak she actually was, she couldn't help but feel a little bit invaded. "Oh, don't apologize. It's nothing you can help, I'm sure." At this Karyn narrowed her eyes at his false sad face. Karyn thought of a witty come back she might out should say. "Now, where are you going with those bags? Since I can't carry them, I might as well escort you - seeing as you look so helpless, and all." Karyn gave a small sigh. " I'm just heading down the road... " Karyn said and pointed down the road. " since you've got it in your big Neanderthal brain that I need some man to help little old me. " she smirked at him. " and since you looking so lost yourself. "

"Well then," he started, a smile still dance across his face. Kinnar was tempted to jest about "neanderthal" being a rather large word for her, but he didn't want to test her that hard just yet. Yet - implying he would have further interaction with the female. Of course, he would - because he was escorting her helpless, feeble self home. Unable to carry her bags. Then again, wasn't he a bit too good to be treated as a mule? "Lead the way!" He finished in a pleasant tone, nodding his nose in the direction she'd gestured to earlier.
Starting down the path that way, he started whistling a bit, way too chipper for the rather gloomy afternoon. Honestly, he had no idea where he was going, but he intended to end up, well, somewhere. "Kinnar, by the way," he spat out, glancing at her quickly. "Call me whatever you like, but that's my name. What can I call you?"

Karyn rolled her eyes at him as he said to lead the way for them to go, but smirked a little bit.
As they started down the road toward her home, she started to hear him whistle. She raised an eyebrow and looked at him form the corner of her eye but didn't say anything about his whistling. He seemed so constable she wondering why that was silently.
When he said his name she stared at him blankly in surprise. All this time and she hasn't realized that they had yet to exchange names, all the exchanges had been banter. "Karyn... Karyn Lynburger." she said in stiff shock and embarrassment.
She couldn't believe she forgot to introduce herself. She looked away from him and down the road. It was only then that she realized where they were headed... Towards her home. With 'ALL' her family... She picture the horror of all her family in the house... She quickly glanced at Kinnar and then away

Kinnar nodded in response to her brief, rather strained-seeming introduction. He enjoyed the way she gave him her full name, not just the first - as if it was absolutely impertinent that he know her surname. That gave him pause, then - maybe she came from a prominent family he should know of? Although, glancing back over to her, he dismissed this thought quickly. Even though she was alternatively attractive, it was just that "alternative" part that drew him away from the assumption that she might be from some strange, royal line. She seemed normal enough, he supposed.
With a look of pure horror Karyn had glanced over to him quickly. Were her eyes really bugging out of her head, or was it just his peripheries? Quirking a brow, Kinnar turned his gaze evenly to the girl. "What happened? Did you see something scary you need a big, strong man to take care of for you?"

(So sorry for the late reply @_@) "Uh... It's nothing" Karyn said looking away. She then narrowed her eyes and looked back at him wondering if she let the comment past. She then smirked. "Oh a strong man like you?" She laughed and scoffed at him jokingly. "Like you? I don't think you'll be able to handle it" She chuckled a e bit.
Karyn smiled as she looked foreword, she was actually enjoying herself walking beside him, even thought she just met him a few moments ago."So how long have you been in the neighborhood?" She asked off offhandedly

Kinnar chuckled at her response, restraining himself from replying with more snark. Although he could hear the jest in her voice, it sounded as if there was a bit of truth behind it. Was she actually scared? Of what? What could she possibly fear that Kinnar himself couldn't handle? His internal monologue scoffed at the thought, knowing the female, this Karyn, was misjudging him greatly. She absolutely had to be.
"Ah, well..." Kinnar squinted, looking out into the distance. "Am I really 'in' the neighborhood? I was simply passing through and happened to notice a pretty damsel in distress..." he smirked, still not looking at Karyn. "But I could be persuaded to stay awhile, if necessary." He flicked his tail and began whistling again, waiting for what he knew would likely be an interesting response. Silent Treatments Hahaha it's fine! I just quote-kicked you to make sure you saw it. xD
