When Ignatius noticed others seemed to have more armour pieces, he promptly decided that it was time for him to attempt to get more. It wasn't that he was necessarily unhappy with what he had, but he wanted to look more epic going into this battle of doom than he did already.

If he was likely to die, considering how statistically low the chances seemed to someone even beaming with optimism and pride like he was, he might as well look awesome doing so. There was nothing against going out with a bang, right?

Not that he'd go out with a bang. He was pretty damn sure that they were all going to make it out. Well, except for a select few that had volunteered themselves to the cause. Shun. Estel. Jason. Jack. Ridon. Wrath. Arrakis. Those lives seemed destined to end.

Perhaps he shouldn't dwell so much on that. Preparing his horse and his goods, Ignatius attempted to clear his head of such negative thinking before heading off towards those treacherous cliffs with the horse whom had not abandoned him on his last trip.

Initially, Ignatius thought the trip was going absolutely fine! It was calm, there was no dysentery, there were no bees and certainly no boar.

Unfortunately, that did not mean everything was well and peachy. He misguided his horse, perhaps in overconfidence, and ended up nearly careening over the edge to his and his horse's most certain doom.

Ignatius watched mournfully as his bad moves caused the cliff to claim some of his belongings. Damn. He should have known better than to bring so little food with him. Why hadn't he packed more? Perhaps it was because it seemed food reserves were hard to come by, though it seemed quite a few of them could just summon chickens...

Well. Onwards into the woods, he supposed.

Ignatius had gone on enough quests by now to figure out the most ideal way to take himself through this winding forest. Really, after a few times, it was no longer so confusing as it had been previously. Just take a turn there, do a loop there, go up there, go down over there...

And grab some food!

Learning the most reliable trails had caused Ignatius to also commonly stumble upon food reserves from other knights who had no doubtedly tried to take this trail before him. Perhaps it should have made him a bit more nervous about the whole situation, but it only made Ignatius grin as he hopped off his horse and loaded him up with more food than Ignatius had started with.

Perfect!

Onwards to the mountain they would go. Hopefully he would avoid that damn fire beast today...

Fortunately for Ignatius, he was quite able to avoid that damn terrifying fire beast for that particular day. Perhaps there was a reason for that, though.

As Ignatius' horse trotted along the trail, its foot got stuck in something that suddenly snapped and compressed down. While the horse was able to reel away from the trap before it ended up, indeed, trapped, it was not quickly enough to not trigger other elements of the trap.

Ignatius and his horse quickly found themselves victim to a rain if arrows from above, seemingly endless in their assault. Arrows landed into his shoulders, on his side, into his legs, into his horse's torso and legs, everywhere. When they were able to find an opening, Ignatius' horse rushed away as quickly as possible, but not before the damage had been done.

It was fortunate then, perhaps, at the summit, that Ignatius had his cape from one of the shadowlings he had fought and was able to quickly make his way over to his new artifact before it was too late, and the dysentery arrived.

Before there was a chance for anything to happen, Ignatius scooped up his new shoulder pieces, hopped back onto his horse, and gallopped away as quickly as humanly and horsely possible.
