Though Paris couldn't claim to be a fan of Luna Bay, she nonetheless enjoyed any excuse to get out of the house, particularly if that excuse resulted in a date night with her husband—a rare event when one considered their busy schedules.
Of course, there were still lingering effects from New Year's Eve, but they were slowly dwindling the more she went out and had uneventful evenings. The Spring Fling had gone off without a hitch, and there hadn't been much more than youma activity since her rescue. She couldn't claim to be completely over what had happened to her, but she was determined not to allow it to interfere with her life any more than it already had.
A concert seemed like a good idea at the time, in spite of the large crowd. Paris stuck close to Chris's side as they entered the Academy, dressed in short denim shorts with a pink crop top, and her favorite slouching cowboy boots. The atmosphere was already one of excitement, which helped to lift her spirits and keep her mood from taking a downward spiral.
There was nothing to worry about, she kept telling herself. Everything was going to be fine.
“Did you want to get a drink before finding our seats?” she asked, though her tone suggested she might as well have been saying, “I would really like a drink.” She had her arm around Chris's back as they entered together.
*******************************
Marissa Reeves had already been by one of the bars to snag a beer. The crowd and the atmosphere brought back memories from years ago, when she and her husband would attend one concert or another for something to do. To this day, she had an appreciation for live music, which was probably why she found herself here now with Michael Gallo.
It wasn't like he was bad company. They got along much better now than they used to. He'd told her things about himself he probably hadn't told anyone else, and she was honorable enough to keep his secrets. Trust was important in a friendship, and Marissa was beginning to realize that's exactly what they'd become to one another. Friends.
They were friends, in an odd, complicated sort of way that meant keeping secrets from her oldest daughter. N one needed to know that she'd achieved friends-with-benefits status with her kid's brother-in-law.
“Apparently they're the new up and coming band,” Marissa observed, taking a sip from her beer, “but I haven't heard of them.”
That, of course, meant absolutely nothing about their popularity, considering Marissa's musical choices continued to be stuck back in the 90s.

Haven wasn't entirely sure why she'd agreed to come to this concert, except that a cute high school boy had asked her and she'd never been on a date before. Not that she assumed this was a date! It could just be that they were here as friends. He hadn't specified what he'd meant by it when he'd asked her out.
But Haven, perhaps a little over-enthusiastically, was treating it like a date. She'd even dressed up for the occasion, in a floral printed knee-length skirt with a white blouse and a raspberry colored cardigan. She'd debated on heels, but eventually decided she wasn't confident enough to wear there. She wore a pair of teal green flats instead. Once again, she'd borrowed a pair of earrings from her mothers. She had her hair pulled up into a decorative ponytail, and carried one of her trusty messenger bags at her side instead of a purse.
She blushed a little to be walking beside someone as cute as Ilian Jones. His only real flaw was that he went to Hillworth. Haven never imagined she'd go on a date with a Hillworth boy—then again, she'd never imagined herself going on a date period.
“Do you like this band?” she asked. She knew Ilian played the piano, but she wasn't sure about his musical preferences beyond that.
*******************************
Lovely Belrose was not a happy camper. Not only was he in a crowded place full of smelly people, but he'd been asked along by Ilian Jones, who just so happened to have brought a date, which meant Lovely had the awkward position of Third Wheel.
He didn't know where Ilian had picked this girl up at. Probably the Spring Fling, if memory served. Either way, Lovely was unimpressed. It was obvious that Ilian was simply trying to make him jealous, as Lovely had no date of his own.
Instead of taking part in the conversation, Lovely lingered some steps behind the pair, glaring daggers into Ilian's back.
*******************************
Jonah Sinclair lingered even further behind his sister than Lovely Belrose, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible as they meandered through the crowds. He hated crowds. Every few moments someone would step into his personal bubble and Jonah would flinch away. It was tiring, especially with all the talking and he loud noises. He knew he was going to have a headache by the time this whole affair was over.
But as he had no job and no longer had any classes to take up his time, he'd been charged with the task of chaperoning his sister on her very first date. Jonah didn't think it was necessary. Haven wasn't the type of girl who needed a chaperone. If anything, she should be the one chaperoning him. But their grandfather had insisted, and Jonah could still not find it within himself to deny their grandfather's demands.

Chewing her lip Lexi stood outside of the venue looking up. She had never been one for concerts that didn't include acrobats and jugglers but every once in a while she would hear some band or a piece of music that she absolutely loved. This just happened to be one of those occasions. Luna Bay hadn't been around long, or she didn't think they had. Amanda had told her about them, shared with her a song or too and she was hooked. Now she found herself waiting for Amanda to show up outside the gig, battling against the slight chill in the air as she watched groups and singles entering the building. Lexi had the common sense to buy and bring the tickets herself, Amanda would lose them of course, but she dearly wished she could just slip inside, just for a moment.
"Come on Amanda...where are you?"Opening her battered and bruised phone for the fifteenth time she glared at the blank wallpaper that denied her the text message with Amanda impending arrival. It was nearly 8pm and the first support acts where going to be on any minute!
*******************************
Harley on the other hand was already inside. A shot of vodka in one hand and the other itching to light a cigarette. She loved concerts. Loved the smell, the atmosphere, the drink. But she also hated that she couldn't smoke in buildings anymore and there where far too many tall people in here for her liking, she had a special hate for those tall people especially when they got in front of her. And maybe, even more seriously than all the others, she hated the fact that she could still find enjoyment in such events. Downing the shot she grimaced as the fiery liquid made its way down her throat silently berating herself as it did. She was meant to be preparing to find a way to give herself fully to Metalia and now she was here, slightly buzzed already and waiting for the band to start playing. God she was such a ******** civilian.
*******************************
Lyssa slinked her way past the heavy metal doors left ajar at the back of the academy. She hadn't spoken to Harley about attending this concert, she doubted the mortal child would agree on her being here but Lyssa loved to watch the music dance. To smell the color of the notes and to hear the whispers of the of instruments as they commanded the human people to play. This music would never match what she could catch on a normal night, but the buzzing words of so many had intrigued her. There would be excitement here, love, lose and revenge. She could taste it in the air....as well as on the heavy duty box she was currently licking that had transported much of the bands equipment. Yesss, she could taste the excitement all right and it tasted dusty.

Emily settled to lean on a railing as she looked out at nothing in particular, the music in the air thumping as she took the night off. Not tat she didn't welcome it, but there was work to do!...Except Albert made it abundantly clear he was sick of his precious, darling child being out at all hours hunting for danger. No, the other insisted no senshi duty for one night, so, being a grouchy child, she obeyed with utmost objection and went to an event she could actually keep alert at.
Except the music was entirely distracting and she stretched out, watching people with the look of a bored, lazy cat meowing without actually meowing, and wondered if the band would be any good.
Based on the screaming fangirls she was considering pawning off on Sphalerite for harming her hearing, she was going to assume so before murdering their bloody fanthings.
It couldn't hurt to take Erika to her first concert.
Trinna had employed her job to get Erika the ticket, quite a good one, and only accepted repayment in Jem and 80's time, maybe dolling up Erika, and help learning the Senshi thing. Still, Trinity McAllen was perfectly happy leading the younger woman into the venue and pleased to treat a friend to an outing, beaming in a bright, LOUD outfit and happily hugged Erika to her protectively, beaming.
"So are you excited? A night off work-" The best analogy - "And your first oncert! Ready to have fun, Erika?"
Trinity, or Trinna, grinned to Erika fondly the bigger girl beaming as she motioned around.
"The venue is our oyster!"

Music was one of Silas Bright's loves, undoubtedly. He never went anywhere without some sort of music-playing device (which, these days, mostly meant his phone, since he could access Pandora from it). Rock music was his jam, so when he heard that an up-and-coming rock band had made their way to Destiny City, he wanted to check it out. He thought that perhaps he had heard a few tracks by this Luna Bay in passing on the radio, though for some reason they didn't seem to stand out. Perhaps they could at least put on a good show?
When he arrived at Grisholm Academy, Silas made a beeline for one of the bars. A certain comedy routine about the inferiority of a "sober good time" had gotten stuck in his head, and while he of course didn't want to get utterly smashed (he was a responsible adult and going to be a graduate student, geez), a little buzz would sure be fine. He took a seat and nursed a beer, people watching as he sipped. This band seemed to have attracted quite a motley crew; hopefully everyone was ready to have a good time.
--------
Ezra Cadwell's main love in life was a good time. Concerts, at least good ones, were basically massive bundles of positive energy waiting to be unleashed. There was nothing quite like the contagious positive atmosphere that came from so many people enjoying themselves at once. When he heard that the new up-and-coming rock band Luna Bay was coming to Destiny City, he was definitely going to go see them. For one, he'd done enough research on them to know that he liked their stuff, and for two, he was nothing if not constantly on the search for fun things to do.
Okay, so Ezra miiiiight have been hanging out with some buddies who had smuggled a little booze, and so he miiiiight have been a little buzzed when he got to the Academy. It was his way of being spiteful about not actually being able to drink there, he supposed. He was pretty sure he was fine and that he didn't smell of beer, so hopefully he'd be in the clear. Besides, if someone got close enough to smell him like that, they were too close, unless of course they were a handsome man around his age. He picked an arbitrary place in the concert area to hang around and people watch, occasionally eying the adults at the bars enviously. Maybe he'd see someone interesting to chat up while waiting for the show to start.
-----
Carmen had to be sneaky to get what she wanted in life, sometimes. Right now, what she wanted was to witness a live performance of music in a place that wasn't exactly cat friendly. Good fortune had struck her, for an exploration of the Academy had revealed ajar doors that she could just barely slip through (being furry had its problems). If she used her natural feline stealth, she might even be able to make it to the main concert area and see the performers for herself.
It seemed that she wasn't the only one who had this idea. On her way in, she spotted a reddish cat licking a box. Out of curiosity, she approached the other cat, and when she got close enough, she spotted the star on the other cat's forehead. Another Guardian, to be sure, but something was... off. "What are you doing?" she asked.
Quinn's instructions had been simple: dress comfortably.
That had left Delilah standing in front of her closet for the better part of two hours pulling things out. From dresses to pants, skirts to shorts, she had gone through quite a selection before semi deciding on blue jeans to be safe. Outside of something formal, they covered all bases. The decision on the top had been another battle.
But when she had finally met up with Quinn, all fashion choices were made and she honestly felt satisfied with them. A rare feat for a fashion designer. So she was smiling at him wearing something a little more daring than normal. Her hair still pulled back in a tight, high ponytail.
As they came up on the concert, her interest peaked. "Luna Bay? Quinn, I thought this was sold out?" She turned looking back at him.

Lyssa stopped licking as soon as the question was stated, but she didnt close nor move her mouth away from the box, instead choosing to answer the feline with mouth agape her eyes rolling as it the answer was very obvious. "Am-thh tasthhing thffftee bass-thhh. Am-tff All-lthhh ab-outhhff thebasss-thhhfff"
Drooling slightly she moved her head away, her eyes blinking fast as she looked at the guardian cat, her nose twitching as she tried to latch on to her aura hidden so well. Right away she could see the lightness shining from within her, like an halo of stars she shone and glistened. But the true beauty, the deepest. Was in those fabulous glasses. "OohH, yoUU Are SO PretTY, EveN the ShrewS woulD thiNK twIce aT IntERUPTING youR pinIC."
If Carmen hadn't realized it before she would soon realize it now that the cat was insane. Or at least heavily medicated. Or both. Either way she would find Lyssa suddenly nuzzling her as she tried to sniff and lick the glasses perched perfectly on her face.

Sirene Naiads
It had taken a surprising amount of time and money to secure the tickets to one of the most highly anticipated concerts of the year but Quinn had done it... Delilah had mentioned it in passing and Quinn couldn't pass up the opportunity to surprise her with it so he pulled strings and, much like their first date, used his considerable 'influence'.
Standing at the front of the building he looked over at his girl and smiled. His sandy blond hair was a bit disheveled and didn't look out of place with his jeans and simple black t-shirt. "You wanted to go. That's all that maters." With the very simple statement he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the depths of the building. There was still time to before the concert started and even with the tickets he wanted to make sure they could get the best spot possible. The night was just beginning. "Come on Delilah. You grab us a spot and I'll get us drinks."

Kaida was more than a little excited. It was her first date in years, and she was going with ALBERT. Mister Adorable Scientist of Awesome. She had dressed for the occasion, though she'd been surprised that Albert was interested in Luna Bay. She wasn't a huge fan, but she did enjoy their music from time to time, and concerts were usually a lot of fun. Plus, Albert. [It was a little strange calling him 'Albert' instead of Dr. Wiley, but...it was nice.]
She stuck close to him, knowing how easy it could be to get lost in a crowd. "Looks like they've got a pretty good turnout, hm?" So many people around, it reminded her of work, and what she might see when she finally got her singing off the ground. She didn't register the equally tiny dark-skinned girl with pale hair passing her.
Chiku darted past a couple on her way to get herself something non-alcoholic from a bar [hopefully they could at least point her at where to get a drink if not!], grin on her face. She wasn't dressed up really fancy, just comfy, and one of her friends had managed to get it in her head to wear some makeup. The small girl had to keep reminding herself to NOT rub her eyes. No sense in ruining what took her two hours and three YouTube tutorials to do. She was proud of herself! And she was so excited! It was her first concert all by herself! Her cell phone was, of course, tucked into the small purse she had with her. Not like she could live without her cellphone anyways, but it was a requirement her parents had for her going by herself.

Romaine wasn't really used to being out on her own, but... the concert was free, and she didn't want to crowd Suri, who was really very nice and didn't deserve the crowding. She tried to be socially conscious, after all! So she'd gotten dressed in some of the clothes the Negaverse had provided upon her corruption (men's jeans cuffed at the ankles, a t-shirt with the logo of Apple Cabin Foods, and sneakers) and just gone. Now she had found herself a nice little perch a safe distance from the stage to watch the light show, where she intended to stay for the rest of the evening or until she was ready to go greet people.
She would eventually be ready to go greet people, right?
*
Islay was psyched. Yeah, she preferred classical music, but all music was extremely important and should be appreciated. So while her dad was off in what she had privately termed the 'parents' corner' she was close enough to the stage to touch it. (And she was seriously considering attempting to touch it.)
There were cats nearby. One of them was licking the subwoofer. Whatever, that was weird, but Islay had seen a lot of weird stuff lately.
*
Anabel was there just to have a good time. Chilling out was an important part of being devoted to your work, and maybe not thinking about it would make it all click a little better next time she tried to get down to business. She'd found herself a nice quiet area, for a certain value of quiet, and spread a notebook out on her lap. The music wasn't her taste, but whatever, it was a change of scenery and she'd always liked the Academy. At least no one would be attempting to jostle her so far away from the stage.

"You sure it's a good idea to separate?" Her voice was getting a bit louder. She was excited and it was getting louder with more and more people showing up. This was indeed going to be a full house!
Grabbing tightly onto his hand, she followed close behind, keeping the distance to a minimum so no one could walk between them. "I'll go with you for drinks. Then you can follow me into the crowd. All it takes is a few smiles to move forward."
Delilah was chuckling. Quinn had always managed to surprise her from even before their first 'real' date. Now, she just enjoyed the fact she could let her hair down around him. Even with him being worth a bit more than she believed, he didn't expect her to be anyone but herself. It was a nice feeling. "Just get me something light for now. Even water to stay hydrated!"
Albert was... somewhat in shock that he was here at all. Not only was he much too old for concerts like this - not that he would admit such a thing in range of his daughter's hearing - but he was going to a concert like this on a date. A date with a very attractive, very... young woman.
"Are you entirely sure I'm not... out of place?" He asked hesitantly. He really knew nothing of the band at all - he had only chosen this for a date because it seemed like something young people would appreciate and. Well. Kaida was young, still...
... He really was old, wasn't he, thinking like that?!?
---
"Are you sure I look okay?" Erika had asked this one too many times already, she was certain, but she couldn't help being nervous. She'd never done this much to her hair, let alone dressed like this, or gone to something like this...
"What- what do you do at a concert, anyway? It's so loud..."
So loud, and so very crowded....
With this many people she was starting to truly understand why her sphere was a beneficial one!
