It had been a semi-productive day. Most of her wares had sold in the morning and were scattered during the afternoon in long periods of time. Her claws and hooves were killing her from working non-stop in the morning. Pale blue eyes looked around and noted the lack of customers with a relieved sigh. "S'pose new isa gewd time as any t'take a break." Duckie worked quickly to close up her shop of wares. It had been a few months now that she when she had come to live close to Jonna. At first it was very hard to adjust but as time went, so did the difficultly--somewhat--of realizing she had other family members of distance relations.
Putting her last piece of jewelry in her bag Duckie nodded with satisfaction before moving on to rest by some water to cool her aching body. She nodded every now and then to those with familiar faces--be they customers or friends. Routine was becoming a fast friend and what once was a headache was now a lifesaver. Duckie took a deep breath and gazed at the water and landscape, it truly was beautiful here.
Jonna had been lazing about for a few minutes and thinking about her life at this point. It was only a few months ago she had been alone and now... now she had family. Family was very important, well in her opinion. How odd was it that she had not known all this time that she had relations out in this big world. Oh well, all that mattered know was that Duckie was here and what an adorable name was that? Duckie. Precious really. Her internal thoughts were interrupted by a cooing sound by the water and ah yes of course her little Lock. He truly was the sweetest familiar a girl could ask for--*splat* "Oi!" Jonna spoke while frowning with water dripping down her face. "That's just not spot on Lock!" I take back that 'sweetest' part, a right bugger he is most times. Lock pouted, his eyes seemed to get larger and wet which in turn caused Jonna to sigh.
With a groan Jonna got up and nuzzled her otter familiar. No matter what he did... Jonna always had a hard time staying mad at Lock for long... could be the puppydog eyes he always seemed to use to his advantage. "Alright let's go visit our darling Duckie."
Duckie's ears flickered to the sound of another speaking behind her current position, but she continued to look at the plant by the water... she knew who it was anyways. "Och ello there Mistress Jonna, nuttin' much lass. I'm just harvestin' this wee flower for some things back at me home." She let out a relieved sigh when the flower came out from the ground safety as well as unbroken. With care Duckie wrapped it up gently and placed it within her hair. "There now," She said to herself absentmindedly before she turned to look at the other female with a smile and chuckle.
" Such lovely things grow here in this land. Och, ooh I be seein' Mister Lock then. 'Ello love." Duckie grinned down at the smiling and cooing otter. " I was beginnin' to worry on when I hadn' seen you in days!"
"Hope you aren't leaving?" Jonna made the statement into a suggestion. "Haven't seen you in a while and neither has Lock... thought we could stay awhile and have a nice sit down or chat." She liked Duckie. Duckie reminded her of someone... perhaps someone from her dreams. As of late ... there was dark curls, wicked yet arrogant smile, and male... Not that Duckie was masculine but the curls were so familiar.
A smile grew on her face when Duckie sat back down and talked... and talked.. and talked. It was fantastic really how her once quiet world was shattered-somewhat with chatter.
It was simply lovely.
