The sun was just starting to touch the horizon on it's downward course to it's nightly resting place. Brilliant colors began to splash across the sky touching every small thing with a slightly fiery hue. There was a light breeze which made it a most beautiful sunset for those who were choosing to gaze upon it. Wings of a natural fiery color were enhanced wonderfully by the rays of the sun with each flap they took making them and their owner look even more like fire itself shooting across the clear sky. Each beating of these wings was not as quick as would typically be the norm as the mare they belonged to was quite intent on enjoying every last moment of the sun soaked sky before the dark would take over and a chill would set in. Said mare sighed heavily in content as the winds brushed along her dark face and through her bangs.
This was something she enjoyed more than most, just being in the air without a care in the world. Recently her life had veered and taken off on an interesting but pleasant course. Rae had met with the sister whom she had only heard of from her mother as she angrily disowned her from the the herd she once belonged to and vowed that the red maned mare was no child of hers. A lot of emotions had gone through her with the first meeting with Alinea. Some of these emotions started to seep back into the fiery mare's thoughts as she began thinking on this first meeting of sisters. It had been rough and very emotional for the young flyer. Her eyes narrowed, anger flaring in them, at all she had learned. The way her older sister, who was actually only her half-sister, had been treated growing up in their previous herd led her to building many defenses around her. Alinea believed she had become someone that was detestable and a monster not worthy of love or friendship. This tore deep into Rae's gentle heart as she herself had not had to deal with that same kind of pain and mistreatment. Maybe with time she could help her sister by making their relationship as strong and loving as it possibly could be.
As usual it seemed, Rae was so caught up in herself and her own thoughts that she was paying little attention to much else outside of staying air born. This of course could lead to a possibly very dangerous or harmful situation. It could also lead to the winged mare meeting and making a new friend. Although, crashing into someone would not be the best way to make a first meeting. If only she would pay attention to her surroundings when she was airborne...
