back dated to May 15Hyperborea had sent Babylon a letter asking him to meet her tonight. She was hoping he would upgrade her ring with the video chat tech he had mentioned last time they meet. Not only did she think that it would be more useful to have as advanced a magical ring as possible but also it was just cool. Like something out of Star Wars or Star Trek.
She had asked him to meet her at Crystal Academy since she knew the area and she didn't really have any better place to hold planned meet ups.
She waited on a bench outside the school. She passed the time by trying to think of how she could deal with the Negaverse, she wanted to follow the advice Hver had tried to impart to her but she wasn't sure how. She wasn't like the older knight, she couldn't except that some casualties are necessary. Not that she faulted the knight for her beliefs but they just weren't something Hype could accept personally.
She also thought about her order. The knights of Cosmos, they seemed so distance from one another. Hyperborea had admittedly only met three of her fellow sparkle knight but she felt like she couldn't get close to any of them. Sarras was angry and jaded, not that Hype blamed him with the horrible stuff he had told her she wasn't surprised he seemed to prefer being a loner she'd probably be the same in his shoes but it still made her sad. Teide seemed to just hate her, Hype wished she knew what it was about her that annoyed the Captain turned squire so much, she really wanted to be her friend if possible. Hvergelmir, She just didn't know what to make of Hvergelmir, it seemed like whenever they met she upset the knight, she didn't want the knight to worry so much about her and she didn't want her to think she was some violent or stupid person who murdered her enemies. It bothered her alot since she thought of other cosmos knights as her second family, shield brothers and sisters, but she seemed to strike out in her interactions with them.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt the glowy knight's aura. "Salut mon ami!" She said as she saw him come into view. She hoped she wasn't being presumptuous by calling him her friend.

Babylon felt a little bit awkward to approach Crystal Academy. Last time he'd been here was a little under a year ago with Avalon, and, well, he was going to do his best not to think about it right now, because it was completely inappropriate to have that on his mind with the meeting he was walking into. Hyperborea had written to him about the rings, he reminded himself, and he'd brought what she requested. "Bonsoir, ma petite chérie," he called in return, jogging the last few yards to the bench. "How have you been?" Babylon asked, shifting gears. Could he carry on in French? Certainly. But English was significantly easier for him - and for her, he was willing to bet. "I got a ring upgrade for you from Mistral." (He'd thought about just referring Hyperborea to Mistral with her entire inquiry, but Mistral was away on her wonder and hard at work and it had seemed sort of urgent. Easier for him to make the trip and act as an intermediary.) "Staying out of trouble?" he asked gently, taking a seat beside her.

"I've been good, mostly." She said though it wasn't entirely true. Lately she had been feeling more and more stressed out but she didn't want to burden Babylon with her personal problems. She took off her signet ring and handed it to Babylon.
"If by trouble you mean fighting Negaversers then yeah, I have dusted a few Youma though. I ran into some other knights. Oh and I met this really weird guy. His name was Quail's Eye, apparently he protects dreams and is a phenomenal cosmic power, what ever that means." She said with a smile.
"What about you? Have you done anything interesting since we met?" She asked curious about the Mercury knight.

Babylon dug the upgrade ring out of his pocket and carefully fitted it around Hyperborea's ring. Mistral had explained the process to him, but lacking any rings at her wonder to practice on, he was a bit nervous that he was going to completely muck it up. Fortunately, after a little bit of fiddling, the outer ring clicked into place around the bezel. "Okay," he said, handing it back. "So you speak the name of the person you want to call, and then you speak your message. If the other person accepts the call, they'll be able to talk back. Otherwise, it'll go to voicemail or deliver as a transcription if they don't have the upgrade." Which was creating matter out of nothing, he thought, and wondered if Mistral knew exactly how incredible her invention was. "There's an SOS function, too, if you get into too much trouble. It'll call everyone nearby. Try not to spam with it - people will stop taking you seriously. No one wants to be the knight who cried wolf." He bit his lip, trying to recall if there was anything else he needed to brief her on - he didn't think there was. "Can't say I know a Quail's Eye," said Babylon. "I met Kurma once. He was pretty weird. Pretty sure he fell into that phenomenal cosmic powers category. Anyway, haven't seen him around in years." If he had to guess, Kurma had probably seen where things were heading and noped out ages ago - but bringing that up was only bound to bring on questions he was in no position to answer. The best way to save face was just not to bring it up. "I've been back and forth to Mercury a few times," he said. "Mistral, the woman who invented these upgrades, spends a lot of time at her wonder, and it's walking distance from mine, so I bring her supplies sometimes. I can go back and forth to Earth more often than she can, so it makes more sense for me to bring her things so that she can keep working in her lab. She's helping Hvergelmir and I figure out a way to upgrade these rings further. There are a few functions we'd still like to add."

"Wow thats so cool, so I just have to say someones name and it'll call them, will it only work with people who have the upgrade or will it convert my message to paper for knights who still have a basic ring. Oh and what about Senshi can it call senshi phones?" She asked excitedly.
"Faire d'une mouche un éléphant. Right?" She said with a knowing nod. "Don't worry I'll only use the emergency button in a life or death situation." This was great news, now she wouldn't have to worry about running into a General and having any paper to send an sos out.
"I wish I could meet him, this Kurma. A phenomenal cosmic power, it just sounds so grand. I wish he was active like Quail's Eye, with power like that I bet they could really help turn the tide of the war or at least help better protect civilians." Then again maybe this Kurma guy had a good reason to be absent, after all Quail's Eye had said he took a long while out to protect that mysterious Elysion place maybe this Kurma guy was doing the same thing, he might even be at Elysion as well.
A thought struck her, Babylon had clearly been around longer than she had perhaps he could shed some light on the Elysion and Helios subjects. Sure Quail's Eye said he couldn't tell her anything but that didn't mean she couldn't ask around. She dying with curiosity, though she did know enough to realize she should be selective with who she even mentioned the names to, but Babylon seemed like a good and trust worthy guy plus he was glowy so he couldn't be corrupted and made to reveal the names. "Hey Babylon have ever heard of a guy called Helios or a sacred place called Elysion?""
The mention of Mistral brought down Hyperborea's mood a little. She didn't want to think bad about the woman, especially since she had never personally meet her; and from what she heard it sounded just like what Hver had called it, a tragedy nothing more. But still it was hard for her to not think about the innocent young blood spilt at her namesake. Even asking for the upgrade Hyperborea had felt a bit awkward about. What Sarras had told her about that event still haunted her. She had never thought a wonder could hold evils like that and although she was pretty sure her wonder was safe the thought still nagged at her what if there were death traps in her maze as well, what if she got killed by one, or worse what if she accidentally allowed someone else to be killed by one. She wasn't sure if she was angry with the Mercury knight for allowing others to die because of her wonder or if she pitied her for how horribly guilt ridden she must be for what amounted to a accident.
Another thing he said struck her though. "Wait you know Hvergelmir?! How is she?" She asked blushing a bit when she realized she probably sounded overly concerned. "Sorry, but last time I saw her, well I don't think we left on the best of terms. She's not upset is she?" She hoped the older knight didn't hate her, she had been really trying to understand and use her advice but Hyperborea just couldn't except her philosophy about saving people.

"Um," said Babylon, frowning at Hyperborea. "No... I think that proper senshi phone syncing is something you need to talk to a cat about." At least, it wasn't covered within the scope of the upgrade Mistral had built. She'd been working off ancient blueprints and concerned with knights and only knights. "It'll just - like I said - deliver a transcript of your message. That'll happen for senshi, or knights without the upgrade all the same. " Wishing Kurma were around left him relatively unfazed. Babylon had assessed long ago that a man liker Kurma, who could go anywhere in the universe, had far more important places to be than Destiny City. Still, her next question caught him off guard. "Elysion?" he repeated, and shook his head. The name was familiar, but... "No. That was a few months before my time. Europa could tell you about it. Or Ganymede." That said, she did sound overly concerned about Hvergelmir. "She's, uh, she's fine?" said Babylon. Honestly, the question confused him a bit - had Hver had an injury he hadn't known about? He didn't think so. As for whether he knew anything about Hver's relationship to Hyperborea, well, he wracked his brain. He knew they'd talked about various comrades recently, but they'd also be drinking a lot at the time, and even if they had talked about Hyperborea, it wouldn't bear repeating. Information being privileged and all that. "I haven't talked about you with Hver," he said uncertainly, "So I wouldn't know?"

"Oh sorry I guess I misheard you" Hyperborea said more than a bit embarrassed. She hoped Babylon didn't think she wasn't paying attention, though apparently she hadn't been as attentive as she should have been. She hoped she didn't miss anything else he had said.
"I'll ask Faust then, oh he's a mauvian I've meet. I go to a cafe he stays at on Fridays so I can ask him about it next week." She said.
"Oh if I ever meet a Europa or Ganymede then I'll be sure to ask them about it." She wondered what he meant by 'a few months before my time' had something big happened with Elysion in the past. Now her curiosity about it was even greater.
She blushed again realizing how silly it was to ask someone else about Hvergelmir's opinion of her. "Sorry I guess that was a dumb question." She tried to laugh it off.
She figured she'd probably best leave before she made herself look more like a fool in Babylon's eyes. "Well I should probably head home. Once again Merci! I doubt I could do anything for you, but if you ever need me or just want to hang out give me a call" She said with a smile. "Au revoir mon ami!" She said getting up and giving the older knight a hug and a wave goodbye.
