Friday night at Nick and Tallulah's favorite bar was karaoke night, which was awesome, mostly because Nick couldn't be paid to get up on stage even with two shots of tequila in him. It was also awesome because, statistically, Friday nights were easiest to find a third partner--lots of stressed out grad students, lots of people looking to try something new. Like a treat for making it through the whole week (not that he wasn't on call Saturday night). He had moved off to sit at one of the little high tables along the wall, close enough to get Tallulah if someone started being an a*****e to her but far enough away that they weren't obviously together. It was just safer that way, while also accomplishing their goal (pick up the third leaf to their sexy clover). Nick smiled at her when she looked his way, and raised his pint of beer. (She was ******** gorgeous. She was always gorgeous.)

Last year's Tallulah would be totally scandalized by this year's Tallulah, she thought, leaning against the bar as she waited for her drink. She winked to Nick as he raised his beer, and then turned away from him, resolving not to look back for at least the next five minutes. He would still be there and watching her later - that was part of the fun of this for him. Last year's Tallulah, she thought, picking her mojito up off the bar, would not be caught dead wearing a bodycon dress. This year's Tallulah had owned up to the body that six years of superheroics earned her, and more than that, she'd finally learned how to walk in heels. (As a civilian, even, which was a very different prospect than walking in heels as a senshi.) She hopped up onto a barstool, crossed her legs strategically at the knee, and scanned the bar. It was the usual crowd - but part of the game was putting out the bait and seeing who bit. Anyone had the potential to be interesting if they were feeling bold enough.

Elzo liked bar crawling. Grab a few beers, enjoy the scene, rinse, repeat. Only he broke it up with flirting and often contemplating hook ups. He was always mindful, but hey, nothing wrong with a bit of flirting, a bit of well. A bit of things his brother told him would not reflect well on him down the road if he was caught. What Elzo did was very systematic when he was looking for company. Grab a drink at the bar, look at who seemed alone, and start some conversation. If not interested in conversation, or anything else, no big deal, he'd still have a good drink and move on to another who might want to talk. Tonight, drink in hand, he wondered just what a woman dressed to kill was doing all by herself. A lady like that? Either she was on the hunt, or she just was looking to have a good time, (with a guy or other was yet to be seen). Checking himself over quickly, Elzo walked over, motioning to her dress. "Killing time before you go on stage?" He'd resisted the show stopping compliment. Point to him.

His wife looked divine, because of course she did; Tallulah was a bombshell, as far as Nick was concerned, and anyone who said otherwise was probably lobotomized. Because she looked divine, he wasn't surprised when she picked up a possible third barely five minutes after getting settled in. The guy looked confident, well-built, though his hair was white--a rare coloration, especially that shade of white. Anabel had white hair, but it was trauma white, not... so pure as this. Nick sipped his beer and pillowed his hand on his chin. Part of the fun of this was the lead-up, and it was a pleasant torture to make himself wait while other people looked at Tallulah like something to be won.

The white hair was a bit of a change, but Elzo Xanis wasn't a face Tallulah would soon forget. She smiled, doing her best to hide her surprise - he didn't seem like he'd recognized her yet, and she'd be happy to let that continue for a while. If he'd forgotten her, then it was only fair she have some fun at his expense. "I wasn't planning to," she said, toying with her straw. "I prefer to watch. Take in the ambiance." Truth be told, she was not very good at karaoke - but that wasn't a very sexy thing to admit. "How about you?" she asked, looking up at him - what had done that to his hair, she wondered. She smiled, a bit wry. "Looking for a duet partner?" Later, she decided, she was going to tell Nick about that line and request he compliment how clever she was. For now, though, she was going to resist the urge to look over at him. Seeming distracted or disinterested was the fastest way to lose a third, and she'd heard Kaatje's brags about Elzo. A girl was allowed to be curious, wasn't she?

Later he'd kick himself, but until then, ignorance would be bliss and he'd flirt until he was told to flirt no more. The woman was drop dead fabulous, and from her dress down to her toes she looked like the type to know just how good she looked and was owning it with pride. A dangerous type of woman. His kind of woman. "A bit- I enjoy having a good time. On or off stage doesn't matter to me. If the company is good, the place is good, can't complain." A sip of his beer, he took a seat next to her, smirking that casual Elzo smirk. "You seem like you'd be good for something with a kick. Classic rock or a bit of pop. Or am I wrong? My only other guess would be indie." He motioned to himself. "Also feel free to try an peg what I'd preform. I will give you a hint though, it's probably not what you'd expect." Keep the convo light with that hint of an undertone- just until he was sure he could get a little more overt- and little more of his usual 'advance tactics'.

Wow, thought Tallulah, seriously impressed. There was nothing a good smoky eye and a flawless sock bun couldn't accomplish, was there? For example, making a guy forget that he'd known you since you were sixteen and once put all your stuffed animals into compromising positions. Actually, he'd probably have forgotten about that even if he recalled her - mortification tended to stick more strongly with the victim, after all. She had a few options here, she thought, playing with her straw. She could try to drop him a hint, see if he caught on - or she could wait it out and fill him in later. It was hard to say which would work out more in her favor. He'd probably be embarrassed either way. Or surprised. Or both. "Elvis?" she suggested. "I don't know. Maybe you like to think you're the king." Maybe calling him on being royalty would put his mind in the right place. If not that, she had other ways. She set her drink down and reached for the songbook, arcing her back just so as she leaned. "I wonder if they have Adele," said Tallulah. "Skyfall. Rolling in the Deep." God. God. Was she really that forgettable?! He was starting to make her feel insecure - and Tallulah was generally very secure these days. Twenty-two was, thus far, her year. iStoleYurVamps We're gonna skip Romeo for a bit, okay?

Elzo tended to forget small 'pranks'. He also tended to forget that hey, ladies in make up and good outfits were still the same ladies you talked to on a regular basis. Nothing changed. Just that they wore make up. He was a touch thick headed. "No- I'd rather be a prince than a king. A king has to deal with all the legal matters you know, it's the princes that get to have all the fun." He reached out, hand brushing over her arm. A clear an intent as any. "Though I'm not a Prince fan. His stuff is good, by not my style. I'm more metal. KISS, ACDC- something hard and dirty. You know?" He was going for it. Touch, now talk. She seemed interested, and he liked what he saw. God bless girls with great figures. "Adele is a soloist." He smiled at her, hand running back up her arm. "If you're wanting a duet it might-" He paused, his eyes had been traveling towards her rear of all places. He doubted it, but as he kept looking at her a** he got the distinct gut feeling he'd seen that particular shape and curve before. There was no way though. No way. "-Ah, it might be better if we get a little practice in. See how well you can hit the high notes." It was now or never. His hand slipped down below her waist and gave a gentle squeeze. Something was very, very distinctly familiar.

I'd rather be a prince than a king, he said, and for a moment, Tallulah suspected that he was playing her as much as she was playing him... but that seemed unlikely. He was probably just being a jackass, but she'd come to expect that with him, and it wasn't like she was looking for someone to date. She knew that she and Elzo would never, ever work in a relationship. That wasn't what this was about. Anyway, his hand was on her a**, where it had been before plenty of times but certainly not more recently than last August. She hadn't been receptive then, but... Last year's Tallulah, this year's Tallulah. "That's bold of you," she said, smirking at him. She reached for her drink, glancing casually in Nick's direction as she raised the straw back to her mouth. Did you see?! Did you see?!She bet this was driving him wild. "Look, it's like five bucks a song," she said, "And I'm really not that great a singer. We could skip this...?" God. His hand was on her a**. She was just going to throw him a bone already. "You know me, Elzo. Think a little harder. We go back a long ways."

Elzo did the game of one night stands, he flirted and played the game for years before he'd gotten out, and now, back in 'the game', he was falling into all his old ways. Those ways however did not often surprise him, but then they did? They did it intensely. It was very much karmic justice as reality came around. "Fortune favors the bold." He had whispered in her ear just before she said his name. The name being know had a chill run down his spine. She knew him. She knew him for years and he'd hit on her and so he just froze, full deer in headlights, eyes on her a**. "......" Slowly he let go of her butt and with a slow drink, downed the remaining contents of the alcohol he'd ordered. "........... Jellybutt." He said it, and as soon as he did, he looked at her. "Oh my god." "Oh my GOD." "Are you going to hit me or do I get a pass on this one?" "You look gorgeous by the way." He felt very stupid, but in a tiny way very happy. He'd gotten to grab her butt after all.

This conversation was hilarious for multiple reasons. He was fairly sure Tallulah knew the white-haired young man who'd approached her; she was hinting at her senshi sphere pretty strongly, and... Yep. There it went. Maybe this guy wouldn't be joining them that night, but it'd been funny, and if he tried to deny the little shiver that came from watching another man grab his wife's a** he'd be a liar.

Tallulah smiled. "Thank you," she said. "You get a pass." They'd always had this strange sort of tension, even as teenagers - maybe now it had coalesced into something that they could handle like adults. He didn't seem like he'd been put off by realizing they knew each other - and it wasn't like se'd been being dishonest. She glanced towards Nick, flashing him a smile before going in to seal the deal. "That's my husband over there," she said to Elzo. "Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome. We're looking for someone to join us for the evening." She leaned in, rested a hand on Elzo's knee, and squeezed gently. "He likes to watch," she said gently. She'd used this line enough to know that there was no room in it for ambiguity.

He felt himself relax when she gave him the pass. Well, it was one less thing to worry about. He liked Tallulah, she was one of those people who just got him and his usual self. Who knew him before he'd become royal, from when he'd just been some Hillworth punk who liked to think he was hotter than s**t. Now she knew him as a man who had his life changed, and he'd struggled and yet was still so very much himself. The husband did have him looking over, slightly shocked that one, she was married, and two- "Ah." It explained quite a bit. And why she'd been quite fine letting him flirt as he had been. "I'd give him an 8 of 10. He doesn't look as broody for the full ten of ten." Drink gone, he swirled his glass, think on it. "Just watch?" He asked, leaning in. "There are a lot of things I would have pegged you for but this is.. well can't say I dislike it." He was grinning moving to let the man have a good view. "I think I could put on a damn good show." He made eye contact with the man briefly before sliding his hand to Tal's thigh. "Lead the way?"

Tallulah smirked. "Wait until you get to know him a little better," she said, giving Nick a slow wave before turning her attention fully to Elzo. "He'll make up the other two points." She certainly thought he was a catch - but she had a deal in front of her that was ninety percent sealed and she needed to make up the other ten percent. If there was any chance that Elzo was still going to chicken out, well, she was going to do something about that. "I'm sure you can," she said, taking his hand in hers and moving it up to her hip. "So let's go collect Nick and get out of here?" Seal the deal, she thought. Do something tantalizing. She leaned forward onto her toes, took Elzo's jaw lightly in her fingers, and kissed him on the mouth. She pressed delicately against his lips, parting them with her tongue for a few tantalizing moments. And then, pulling away, she asked, "Are you in?"

She was moving his hand and he grinned. Not removal, but a very casual slide to a more acceptable location. She was a classy woman, and he should treat her that way. Fine by him. "I hope so. Nick better get moving because I'm a fast kind of man Tal." Her kiss came unexpected, and if she though for one second he'd let her off with just some mild action? "You forget, Io sono un uomo italiano a cuore." He let the accent he'd perfected after three years abroad roll off his tongue which decided that it very much wanted to take a second dance in her mouth. Where Tal's kiss was light, meant to tantalize and tease, Elzo's kiss was very to the point. He was into it, he wanted, and he would deliver. A little rough, a little heated, but everything he thought that made a kiss a kiss. "The sooner we're out of here the sooner I can get in you." Deliberate, forward, he was grinning like he'd won the lottery. He felt just about the same as well.
