He took his time packing, knowing that this would be his final journey, his (hopefully) last attempt at retrieving an artifact for a great king that was absent and likely dead. He chose his supplies carefully, and readied his steed with practice movements, brushing, saddling, pushing the bit into his mouth and gathering the reins so that he did not bolt away as he was prone to do. "Just one last time, Dreadhoof." He murmured. "Do not abandon me on this final quest. It shall be our very last, and then, I shall have my wings." He smiled then, the very thought of being able to fly, fly, a dream beyond his wildest imagination. It would be nice, and nicer still to life Na'ima up above those clouds, to see the look of wonder in her eyes, and the love that they both shared for each other. With a smile still on his lips, he drew himself up and into the saddle, settling himself in for the long journey ahead before giving his horse a kick with his heels and a flick of the reins to set him in motion. He thought about many things along that start of his journey. He thought about the home that he could not remember, about loved ones that may have been left behind, or may have been fighting by his side. He thought about how fortunate he was that he had been able to remember Na'ima, and she him, and how the wings on their wrists had been her idea, and why. He thought about how, when this was all over, he would like to marry her, and have many, many children with her, and how they could all, one day, be happy, with the shadows gone, and the world whole once more. These thoughts were broken quickly by a snarling from the woods to his side, and by the large wolf that came bounding out towards him, thin, likely starving. He swung down from his horse and met the creature head on, a battle ensuing between them both, with Wrath ending up with some cuts, and the wolf ending up with a blade in its belly. Breathing heavily, with a stitch in his side from one very lucky swipe with the wolves claws, he made his way back towards Dreadhoof. "Good horse." He murmured, before climbing back on board. Not too much further to go. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 25 YOUR HP: 40

The spider, somehow, managed to surprise him despite him encountering one just like it numerous times before. It too came at a time when he had been lost in thought, and of course, while he had been snacking on some provisions from his food sack. This time, however, when it moved to scuttle away back into the wood, Wrath lunged off of his horse and after it, chasing it down and stabbing at it repeatedly. When it's body lay crumpled on the ground, it's eight legs twitching, he sheathed his sword and got back to his horse, who, miraculously, still had not run away on him. "Good horse." He said again, before clambering aboard and setting off once more. QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 20 YOUR HP: 40

The snakes shouldn't have surprised him either, but they managed. Everything always managed. They nipped at his heels as he scurried along the mountain tunnels, dragging his horse along with him...or was it the other way around? He must have been a comical sight indeed, holding on to that horses reins for dear life, not letting him go for anything, while snakes slithered and slid and hissed at them, chasing them all the way out of that mountain. Rocks fell but he didn't die. And when he got to the end of the journey there they were. The most glorious black cape of wings he had ever encountered. He snatched them up greedily and threw them on his back without pause. But dreadhoof....the horse had served him so well this time around, not bolting on him even a single time! With a sudden smile, Wrath grabbed for the horse and, somehow, defying all logic, flew both him and Dreadhoof back to where they had begun, returning the favor.
