Quest for the Greater Gauntlet of the Dormouse!

After cleaning herself plus her garb at the lake and talking with Shayne for a while Camilla decides that she really was under prepared for the coming chaos... She needed more gear and currently felt better then she had in days so she decides that now would be the perfect time for questing!

Excitedly she hurries over to Lancelot's hut hopeful that she could find a quest to do and find one she does! "The Greater Gauntlet of the Dormouse... Perfect!" she says happily after unrolling a map only to find a quest on it! Question now was... What transportation would she have... The Horses out back looked ok but she missed her Rosewood... "Miss?" a random female knight says after watching Camilla stare at the map for a while "If your looking for a horse I heard Lancelot rescued a bunch of horses from the castle before all the chaos started maybe yours was one of them? They are gathered in a small field not far from here" she informs politely "Oh! Really! Thanks!" Camilla says happily before grabbing some horse gear and taking out

It didn't take her long to reach the field though she found it was anything but small and there was a whole myriad of horses here! How would she find Rosewood... Carefully and quietly so not to spook them Camilla moves through the herd of horses searching for her horse and after almost a hour of searching she spots a familiar brown coated horse with a white spotty rump! "Rosewood!" She exclaims happily before running towards the horse who was just about to take a bite of grass however when she hears her name called her head jerks up to look at Camilla! A expression of delight washes over the horses face and she runs over towards Camilla whinnying happily the pare meet in the middle and Camilla hugs the happily nickering horse's face "Oh Rosewood your safe! With all the chaos and corruption in the castle I was afraid you were hurt or still there!" she exclaims only to have Rosewood shake herself a bit and nicker as if to say I'm fine don't worry!

Camilla's reunion with Rosewood further lightened her heart and helped to drive the despair away she spent a fair amount of time brushing the mare and checking her hooves before finally gearing up when that was done all that was left was the food... They seemed to have so little so Camilla took as little as she could before heading out! Upon leaving the sanctuary of the lake both knight and horse soon remembered the chaos which filled the world around them... But! They wouldn't let that stop them! Quickly the pare break into a full gallop on their way to the mountains!

The rest of the ride through the mountains went off without a hitch thankfully and soon they were at the forest... It would be at this point that many horses would have bolted but not Rosewood! Calmly she matches right into the maze like forest and during the whole journey through didn't so much as flinch! Camilla was more worried then Rosewood was! Course hearing the legends of giant spiders and angry elven archers with sharp arrows would do that to a person...

Finally they reach the end and they decide to take a break while Rosewood laid in the grass munching happily Camilla goes to sit on a familiar rock "Heh... It would be funny if I found more food here!" she laughs cheerfully before sitting down however the moment her foot hits something her eyes widen! "Ah! No way!" she exclaims after gasping then jumping up! Low and behold sitting next to the rock was a full looking canvas bag! "Oh my!" she exclaims as she opens the bag to find it full of food! "Rosewood! I found more food!" she shouts over to the horse excitedly quickly the mare gets up and moves over to the bag before whinnying happily she then without warning sticks her head into the bag and pulls out a apple "Hey you! Heh I guess you deserve it!" Camilla yells playfully before packing the food away

Once finishes she hops into the saddle but before she spurs Rosewood on she stops and looks around for a moment then offers a silent thank you and urges Rosewood on

The trip through the Dwarven Mountain was tough without Rosewood's help... Though admitedly it was easier to avoid traps this way

When Camilla finally reached the end she stops to take a break and was disappointed to not find any food... Ah well can't expect it all the time! Instead she tucks into her reserves and when finished found she still had more food then when she set off! Happily she packs everything away then exits the cave to the summit there gleaming in the light was the Artifact! It sat proudly on the peak just like her Tabard had as if itbwas waiting for her!

Excitedly Camilla rushes onto the snowy peak! Unfortunately just like last time she stepped right in a deep patch of snow and almost lost her whole bag of food! "Eep!" she squeaks while barely being able to hold onto the bag! Fortunately nothing rolled away this time and shevwas able to safely dig herself out! The rest of the journey up was done carefully and quietly... She didn't want to step in any more deep snow or cause a Avalanche...

Finally at long last she reaches the peak and picks up the Gauntlet! Which turned out to be a two part set! "YA- oop! Yay! Yay!" she cheers excitedly yet quietly catching her almost folly just in time! Unfortunately... unbeknownst to Camilla not far down the mountain was a very territorial giant eagle which due to the gauntlets being held up caught the glint from the sunlight...

Screeech!!

Eyes widen instantly as a large ominous cry sounds from the side of the mountain! She freezes stock still as she hears giant wing beats before looking around slowly "Screeech!" Came from behind her! "Waah!?" she yelps in surprise before whirling around only to stumble back and draw Buyou Rouzu and her Main Gauche! What she found behind her was a Eagle easily bigger then a horse! One that looked very angry! "Nice birdy! I didn't mean to offend you! I'll just be-" Camilla didn't even get to finish as the great bird screeches it's fury over it's territory being invaided and flaps it's great wings creating a gust which knocks Camilla flat on her back! "W-whoa! I don't want to fight you I-" Again she was cut off as the bird moves faster then she had expected and lashes out at her with it's talons!

"Gah! Ouch!" she cries as the massive talons of one foot rake across her shoulder and midway down her arm and the other pin her down! She was in trouble! She needed to get this bird off her for no other reason then it was crushing her! Thankfully instead of dropping Buyou Rouzu when her arm was struck Camilla had held on to it and it was now with the sharpened Bokken that she stabs into the great eagle's wing! Blood and feathers stain the snow as the eagle wails in pain! Seeing that this opponent was not as defenseless as it first thought the eagle quickly steps off Camilla and takes flight to go off and nurse it's injured wing!

For a long moment she just laid there trying to catch the breath that was knocked from her until finally she feels the sticky wetness of blood soaking through the sleeve of her undershirt... which amazingly didn't have even a scratch! How were the claws and teeth and blades getting through without ripping the fabric!? She may never know but was thankful none the less! Finally she sits up wensing in pain as she does before rolling her sleeve up to inspect the damages...

Three long gashes from shoulder to mid arm ran along her... They weren't too deep thankfully and shouldn't leave scars upon healing... Slowly she uses the snow to wash the wounds then wraps them with the left over bandages she had "Aw... I just got this shirt clean..." she mumbles disappointedly as she looks at the blood on her sleeves... Still she had lived and she gad gotten her Gauntlets!

Happily after packing her new gear away she begins the long trek back
